No first drafts and the animation looks nothing like us. If you want to surprise your special one. Don’t order from here. Cause they don’t deliver on time and they don’t even have the courtesy to give you a reply.

Very very very bad customer service. I was charged 199 for express delivery ( within 3-5 days), I got my delivery today 15 days after I placed my order. I had also asked for change of address after they couldn't deliver in 5 days because I had to move in the same city. The morons still got delivered on my old address.

no personalizations at all, they didnt even communicate properly, they just made book and didn't even ask for discuss progress, changes, totally waste of money, characters are not even look like me

Story Book - The characters in the story book have not been personalized at all. My husband has been created wearing spectacles and he doesn't wear spectacles. Both the characters look like a copy-paste from an existing template and look nothing like us. I was really looking forward to this book conveying our story but this is a waste and doesn't at-all feel like us.

Splash Picture - I have received a normal framed picture instead of a splash picture. The description read a splash picture which would be a digitized version of the shared picture and the image references showed what it would look like. If it were going to be a framed version of the cropped picture, I could have done it myself.

I was going to recommend this website to a lot of friends but based on the product received, I'm gonna save them the disappointment.

I found Duck Duck Story online and thought they could create a really cool anniversary gift for my husband. So, I placed an order and paid 200 rupees extra for express delivery.

Chapter 2: Waiting and Waiting

But the product didn't arrive when it was supposed to. I tried reaching out, but all I got were automated messages and robotic replies of how they were working on it, despite repeated requests that they call me (since their warehouse was in Vadodara and one of my friends was coming down to Mumbai from Vadodara before I was supposed to leave the country I thought I’d just receive my order faster). However, no calls from them to ease this out. I paid 200 rupees for express delivery, expecting my order to ship within 3-5 business days. However, after 8 days, my product hadn't even left the warehouse.

Chapter 3: Delivery Drama

When it finally made its way to Mumbai, the delivery process was a comedy of errors. Instead of attempting a physical delivery, the courier simply rang me once (I know courtesy the Truecaller notification I received), and since I was abroad with an unreachable phone, the item was unceremoniously sent back to the warehouse in Vadodara.

Chapter 4: Silence Speaks Louder

I kept trying to get answers, but Duck Duck Story wouldn't respond. It felt like they didn't care about my concerns, which truth be told, they didn’t.

Chapter 5: Fighting for a Refund

I had to threaten legal action to get a refund. Even then, I'm not sure they deleted my personal info like they said they would which raises big red flags when it comes to one's data and privacy concerns especially when you share your intimate life details and pictures with them to create a personalized product.

Chapter 6: Hiding the Truth

I noticed that Duck Duck Story deletes negative reviews and blocks people who complain. I've been blocked on both Facebook and Instagram for leaving a negative feedback. It seems like they only want to show the good stuff written by their own staff, I’m guessing, because the post where I wrote the review has all the negative comments by other customers deleted too.

Other companies involve you in the creative process and communicate better. Duck Duck Story lacks transparency and human touch, as they plunge into executing orders without involving clients in the creative process. Drafts? Forget about it. You're left in the dark until the final hard copy is delivered, assuming it arrives at all.

I realized there are lots of other companies out there that treat customers better. A quick search online will show you. I'm not including the names in this review as I definitely don't want this to look like I'm promoting another business. Because truth be told, I'm only ensuring that the real review for a business that gives absolutely no "ducks" to customers, delays orders, and ruins someone's special moments is told off.

My experience with Duck Duck Story wasn't what I hoped for. But I'm sharing it so others can make informed choices. There are better options out there for much better prices. Just do your research.
