I don’t understand why we need an app just to get a deal. The app barely works, and the coupons seem to apply randomly, if at all. I’ve had multiple situations where I followed the rules, had the correct items, and the coupons still didn’t apply at checkout.

When I asked employees for help, they told me there was nothing they could do even when I showed them the app and the coupons that were supposed to work. No explanation, no solution, just “we can’t fix it.” That’s incredibly frustrating.

At this point, it feels less like a way to save money and more like an excuse to collect personal information like phone numbers without actually delivering on the promised deals.

Overall, the experience is unreliable and disappointing. If you’re going to require customers to use an app for discounts, it should at least work consistently.

My name is Carol Barber. I purchased a go to card at your store. They won't refund my money. There's a $150 on that card. And there's no way I found out that was falsely. This is not right to me. I don't need discounts or coupons.
I frequent store number 9711 since there is no grocery stores in my small town.
I've never reviewed "any" department store or their employees. I'm always polite but not easily impressed. I go in a store, purchase what I need and leave.
I just wanted to recognize Quinton at this store. He always greeted me from the register when I walk in, even when he's busy at the register. When I check out, he again asked how my day was and if I found everything I needed.
After about the 4th time this happened, "over a couple of months", I complimented him on his positive attitude. I'm sure that I'm not the only customer to notice. DG needs more employees like Quinton at store #9711. Maybe you could offer him a position as a trainer. For me to take the time to leave this review, He's worthy.

Store 10192 in Muskegon Michigan the cashier said her name was raven when I asked. She had zero customer service skills did not welcome customers coming in and didn’t not bother to speak with us while checking out (two separate transactions) while my daughter was checking out in front of me the cashier stuck her hands down the back of her pants to scratch her ass then proceed to continue scanning items. Thankfully we carry wipes with us and wiped the items down ourselves. She did not even acknowledge me and I had to say hi hello how you doing multiple times for her to even speak. Dirty looks and grunting the whole time. This store in general has always had meh staff but she was the worst as the manager just stood there not saying anything when this girls hand was down her pants. Very likely I will just go to one of the other 50 locations in town from now on

Being only 1.1 miles from home, it's fine for a quick run. Although they don't always have what you need, it's close. My wife picked up a gallon of whole milk on 03/09/2026. Expiration date of 03/22/2026. Just opened it on 03/10/2026. Now, as a person who drinks a minimum of 1 gallon a week, I know milk, this gallon had set out and gotten warm before they put it in the cooler, when ya know, ya know. I've experienced this issue at different stores. This is the first, last and only milk bought at DG. Sorry, Farmington Rd. Peoria

Store items are always placed in different spots and I continue to be overcharged. This happens too often! It seems like too often the items hanging where the label tags are named and price differently that's what's there. I don't say anything half the time but comee ooon! The new manager is NOT friendly and doesn't really care by her actions, even today. ONE item was overpriced by $6. When mentioned, the manager was annoyed.
I watched her walk away from a customer that trying to communicate with her! He was left standing there with issue unresolved. This is sooo sad! I HAVE to go elsewhere now. Where did the humanity and customer service go.

I arrived at the store I was greeted the store was clean and my cashier Esther was amazing she was patient and she answered the question that I asked without a problem she was so nice I will be returning soon.

Every single Saturday I get the same items and use digital coupons. I also use the 5 dollars off a 25 dollar or more order. None of the coupons were working. So instead of manually changing the price I was told I had the option to remove the items. 😆 So then because of that I didn't get the 5 dollar off coupon because the order fell below 25 dollars. The last time this happened at a different location and they manually adjusted the price. Either fix your coupon system or get rid of it. Or make sure u train every employee to manually adjust the price if the coupon isn't working.

It's a great place to buy things that you possible don't necessarily need but you still end up picking it up and when you're traveling u can find one on every block it kinna gets annoying but its great, only like a dollar for things to break intisly um yeah if you like good quality I advise not going there please and thank u but overall it's a great place. most of the people who work there are pretty great GOOD LUCK

I usually go to the dollar general in home pa. I very much use to love going here until recently. I’m usually there in the am due to work a hr away. Last time I stopped there was three people there and only one was actually during her job while the other 2 were laughing so loud and carrying on like school kids. Mind you I use to go here daily but refuse to go there anymore until they do better. And when you are talking about your sex life and stuff like that it’s very unprofessional. There should not be just one person doing their job when there is 3 or 4 people there. That poor skinny girl don’t need to loose anymore weight and yet every time I see her she is working. Not sure what her position is there but she should be the manager of that store.

Dollar General on Oak Street, Eastman, GA, the cashier, Kasey, acted like it was a bother to check me out this morning. She was removing items from box to put on shelf, I walked up to register, she just threw items down. No thank you, kiss my A**, just frowned. Sorry Kasey I messed your morning up. This place is terrible.

Since when did we have to spend at least $25 in order to pay for my items with a $50 bill??! I went into the store on Westport rd in Louisville KY, to grab a couple of things. Went to ring out..my total was around $13.., all I had was a $50 bill. Proceed to hand it to her, and she says I have to spend at least $25, before she would take the cash. I have spent a lot of money in this store since it opened in my area. Well, no more.

First I would like to express my opinion on the employees you hire to represent Dollar General, this store specifically. There is no dress code, the employees including the your Night Managers,
They spend more time gossiping about others, they often don't hear you ask a question, because they won't stop talking. They're loud, obnoxious, and spit all over everything when they speak. Dentures might help. They were yelling at me, because they didn't know how to accommodate my question and concerns. I'm appalled at the condition of the store, is dirty, shelves are empty, there was 3 people working tonight and I couldn't get an answer to where the freezer bags were. A customer told me. I will never patron any of your stores again. I'm just done. If you're fine with your employees wearing sweatpants and stained tops, none of which wear the Dollar General logo. I wish you the best.

I worked for this company for almost three years, and it was a nightmare because I was harassed by supervisors and managers simply for being Latino. They humiliate all the Latinos they employ, and if they speak up to be heard, they fabricate any accusation to fire them. I posted on their own social media page, highlighting the racism and discrimination against Latino employees, and they made accusations to get me fired. They try to cover up everything they do and make it look good; no one can complain because they'll be fired. I reported a manager twice for being drunk, and then I was harassed by him for over six months because in the same office, they tell supervisors and managers who complains about them, even though that should be confidential.

The app is a total rip off. You "clip" a "$10.00" coupon that clearly shows it has been "clipped" on the app, you shop by the list it lets you make, you get to the counter with almost a $70 basket that clearly shows on the app that $10 plus the discounts you receive from items within the store and how much it will be after the "$10" deduction with tax added in but the only amount that comes off is a "$2" coupon that was supposed to be overridden because you chose the "$10" one instead....and management explains that's an app problem that they can do nothing about it. I spend on average between home and business supplies approx. $10K-$20k per year with this chain.....but that is over now. Back to Walmart, Aldi, and Food Lion where you never encounter issues like that.

Worst manager ever. Always empty shelves and freezer section. Manager stays in office while line to register is out the door. I suggest no one use this trashy store.

This POS STORE HAS THE WORST POLOCY WHEN IT COMES TO BUYING TOBACCO PRODUCTS. IM 49 years old and was denied buying tobacco product because my license had expired 3 days before. It still shows how old I am on the license. That’s F’d up and I’ll never shop in that POS STORE again. F Dollar General

Would give no stars if available. KIRKLIN, IN has the worst DG store Ive ever been to. Ive live in a few other towns and KIRKLIN, IN is by far the worst. The employees there always talk about the customers, make fun of them etc.... Its disgusting. I called an employee out on what she was saying to another employee and she lied straight to my face after she had been caught. Horrible people!
