Had an eye test that went well then was presented to Jess at the counter who great and very helpful both with choice of lenses and frames.And here is hoping all measurements are correct so for me to enjoy having new glasses.

Excellent Customer Service

I bought a unique pair of glasses from David Clulow Cornhill, which I loved but accidentally broke. I had been told elsewhere that they would be impossible to repair, but when I took them into the store, Kayes went above and beyond to fix them for me.
They’re now as good as new, and I really couldn’t be happier. Fantastic customer service. Thank you — highly recommended.

Great service and professionalism

Top class outfit

I’ve been a customer for many years and they always always meet or exceed expectations. Their chief optometrist is really good and has great equipment and systems which allow her to track changes in my eyes over time very effectively. The rest of the staff are friendly and helpful. Everyone is really well trained and the premises are very nice. Top class outfit.

A really personalised experience from Bath

Not all that glitters is gold.

I had an eye test at David Clulow Harrods. I have no complaints about the optician who carried it out.
The eye test was like in any other optical store. But the biggest surprise was receiving the prescription for new lenses. The optician manually draw a table on piece of paper in order to fill it in with the information. At first, I thought these were some notes she would later enter into the computer, but no — that was the prescription for me. Is this professional? This must be some kind of joke!! An eye test for £80, overall twice as expensive as in other places. The prescription looked like I had written it myself, and I was wondering whether to show it at the optical studio where the lenses in my glasses were supposed to be replaced.

Had great service

Loughton branch patience and enthusiasm!

The Loughton branch is my local and I’ve been going through the process of fitting contact lenses for the first time. The whole team, in particular Andrula who has helped me from start to finish, has been extremely patient and encouraging! It was a challenging process for me but they got me to a place of confidence and I’m so grateful, thank you to the whole team.

Thought I could not afford to be there

They have been my optometrist for at least 5 years. I returned this week to get a quote as my vision has declined and asked for my prescription to be sent to my email. The lady serving me is either racist or classist and I can tell that she assumed I could not afford to be there and asked if I had been there for testing twice, even though I clearly gave her my details and she can see my details on the system. It was the Kingston Branch. She did not forward my prescription as I requested and was saying anything at all just so I would hurry and leave. Fyi I am a Barrister. I hope she is fired because there should be no place for prejudice or racism particularly in health care.

They must be good… I’ve been going to the Loughton branch for 20 odd years

Been going to the Loughton branch for around probably 20 years, because for me they are the best. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience a pleasure.

I can always rely on and trust their judgement when trying on and choosing new frames and/or contacts.
I welcome And along with the eye tests, glasses and contacts.

They have an excellent choice of frames and lenses, and, with their purchasing plan, buying a new pair of glasses is straight forward, especially with the cost being spread over a couple of years.

Best optician service

Juli and Gina were both amazing at helping me pick out my glasses and contact lenses. I felt comfortable letting them know exactly what I needed and wanted and would come back again and again for their lovely customer service. Unacceptable Service and Lack of Accountability

I had an extremely disappointing experience at the David Clulow Opticians store at John Lewis, 300 Oxford Street. What should have been a simple lens replacement turned into a two-month ordeal involving incorrect prescriptions (twice), damage to my glasses by staff, and repeated delays.

I was promised a new replacement frame, which was not initially honoured, and when it was finally provided, it was also damaged. The store manager was unhelpful, gave inconsistent information, and showed a lack of accountability throughout. Unacceptable service.

I used to trust David Clulow, but after this experience, I have completely lost confidence and would not recommend them.

Eye exam cancelled without telling me

Just visited the Tunbridge Wells store for an eye exam but was bumped in favour of a “husband and wife” appointment. Not impressed, this was at 3pm on bank holiday Friday. I asked why they had not contacted me and was told that they did not know why. Very unprofessional.

I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive for your 3pm appointment, especially on a bank holiday, and not be seen at the time expected.
On this occasion, the store experienced an unexpected delay of around 15 minutes due to consecutive appointments, which unfortunately impacted your booking. Whilst delays can sometimes occur, we absolutely agree that you should have been informed the moment they noticed the delay, and we apologise that this did not happen.
I would like to reiterate our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and for the lack of communication, which fall below the standard we aim to provide our customers.
