Credit Karma has a lower credit score than what I really have

Credit Karmas credit score is lower than what I have on transunion. I worked hard to get my score to 747. Meanwhile, credit karma is suppose to help you to get your credit fixed. When applying for their loans, you qualify for none. Why is that? Because they are looking for people that will fall into high interest rates and fees beyond affordability. They charge higher interest rates and double the interest fees to pay over longer periods of time. I applied feeling confident with my credit score through SOFI, LendingClub and OneMainFinancial and none of them approved me. Thankfully, due to unapproval they didn't do a hard pull. Plus, I took pictures after every step of the way to make sure that if they do a hardpull on my credit after just checking my rate that I would fight it with the BBB and if i have to court to fight these socalled companies that are suppose to help people with their credit get sued and shut them down. People are struggling and these companies interest rates are over the roof expensive. If you take out a $30k loan you pay $15k to $11k in interest fees and it does not matter if you have an excellent credit score. They have other criteria that we know nothing about to be able to get approved. So thanks for nothing Credit Karma. You definitely care less about the people and cater to these companies price gauging and overcharging on loans which I know that you get awarded for getting people scammed into applying for these loans that no one can afford. I must be lucky because I did not get approved when doing my rate. So does credit score matter? No it does not.

Don't use their referral services.

Every day I receive an offer to refinance my car. I've rebuilt my credit, over 680. I decided to research some of these refinance offers. Regardless of my "good credit score", the finance companies change their original offer advertised on Credit Karma, citing my TERRIBLE credit score! However, they still make an offer, "out of the kindness of their hearts", I'm sure, that drops my car payment by TEN DOLLARS, increasing the term to FIVE YEARS! AND DOUBLE THE INTEREST! 😂😆 😂 I have a great interest rate, and my terms were LESS than five years when I bought the car. Credit Karma's "lending partners" count on the bait and switch working on people with half a brain and no calculator. I also get alerts saying my payment history and, again, my "great credit score" is highly regarded for lenders of personal loans! 😂 At 145.5% and half of what you request to borrow. It's all a desperate grab for that interest money from people that fall for flattery. Let's not forget the "credit card offers"! "YOU'RE PRE-APPROVED FOR A CREDIT LIMIT OF $5,000!" Until you actually click on it, and that limit drops to $300 with an interest rate of 38.5%! Here's MY advice: use credit karma to check your score for on reporting company, Experian for another, and Capitol One for a third, get your rating up, and research cards and loans on your own! These credit monitoring apps are referral services and they get a cut of every transaction they facilitate. Don't fall for it.

I will never use Credit Karma

I will never use Credit Karma for any loan refinancing programs ever again. I dont think Credit Karma uses any kind of a vetting program, they just let whomever think they can refinance a loan. It doesn't work that way. Credit Karma needs to verify a refinance company is a trusted company.

I've used many other refinance companies without a hitch.

Lesson learned.

Credit Karma is 100% waste of effort & time!

Credit Karma is simultaneously intrusive and badgering with its incessant marketing pop-ups, emails and text messages, AND it is singularly hostile in every other way. Emails you send are never replied to, claims of sending verification codes are lies, "contact us" is not worth the effort because it is pure hype and victim-blaming, and the chatbot is circuitous and deliberately unhelpful. As for the app ... well, not worth the download.
AND the critical issue - CK cannot even offer a service that competes with your personal bank, PayPal and any other financial service provider.
All round = frustration, hostility, failure, round-abouts and a waste of effort.

Because I reported a fraudulent charge…

Because I reported a fraudulent charge on my account, they chose to close my account due to no fault of my own. Someone hacked my account in Ohio and I live in Massachusetts. They decided to close my account because I reported the fraud.

Credit Karma is NOT TRUTHFUL in several…

Credit Karma is NOT TRUTHFUL in several ways. First, they showed my credit score at 695 per TransUnion and listed personal loan companies that offered different amounts and interest rates. When I received my denial letter from SoFi, it showed my TransUnion score to be 807. They are a business and receive money from these companies they put on their site.
Secondly, I clicked on a loan offer with SoFi loans that had a Credit Karma guarantee stating that they are certain I’ll be approved or they will pay me $50. This was printed clear as day. I clicked on loan and started the process with SoFi. This POS lender pulled a hard credit and THEN asked for specific income documents. Most lenders of these types, get the documents to satisfy their requirements and then pull the hard credit. This puts a ding on your score when they make you believe everything is great and in just a few steps you’ll be approved. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM SoFi. I contacted Credit Karma about the guarantee and initially was contacted by them with stupid questions like,”can you tell us the day of application”? This was already provided in initial contact and they should know this!!! Then they contacted me again, claiming they need more info. Need more info??? They have it all on the site!!’ Then I got another email asking me again stupid repetitive questions. Finally after 4 days of back and forth emails, they claim my offer was not a Credit Karma guarantee and I’m not eligible. This company is a lying sack of shit! I clicked on that offer specifically due to the guarantee. DONT FALL FOR THEIR BAITED LIES!!!!’
On a better note, I did business with a company called Happy Money who not only approved my loan for $1000 more, but at .75% less than SoFi’s offer. They also were quick, asked for my documentation first to be uploaded AND THEN said everything looks good and pulled a hard credit pull. My loan was funded to my bank in 3 business days.
My advice is don’t fall for what Credit Karma shows you, they will mislead you.

I haven't been on the app for a long…

I haven't been on the app for a long time and have a old number I don't remember. Follow the steps to recover the account and get verification code sent to my new number and I'm locked out of the account saying contact service. I've talked to those incompetent people three times telling them that I don't remember that number and I would like to get in my account. I even did the ID and face recognition and I got an email saying that it was accepted and they're trying to tell me that it wasn't but I have email confirming it. They wanted me to do the whole process All over again and I told him no. I said f*** it! I just delete the app and leave a bad review. Their service tecs are very incompetent, and acting like I'm trying to hack my own account.

Can’t delete account with out giving them picture ID

Will not let me delete account without giving them picture ID even though I can verify over email codes and secondary phone telling me I have to use my primary phone number in order to change primary phone number. I have to give them my photo ID just to delete the account not gonna happen.

Do not use this service

Do not use this service! They automatically track you, ypur driving and it can affect your driving score. They did this without my knowledge. Ive since deactivated my account. Its the equivalent of allowing ypur insurance company to put device on your car and its a trap. Unbelievable credit karma!! Ypu have no right! You are a disgusting company with piss poor business practices

I am HIGHLY disappointed

I am HIGHLY disappointed. Yes I have been having financial difficulties and my score dropped. It took me a while to get my life together and start to pay off my debt. When you look at your credit report on Credit Karma it states if you pay off your debt in a certain time frame your score will go up depending on if you pay it off or payments and so on. So I had 3 different debts and it clearly states if I paid them off within 2 years of the opening debt my score would go up 25 points each. So I did. I paid all 3 of them off and my score went up 3 points. I contacted Credit Karma and asked why only 3 points and they said they don’t decide that the credit bureau do. Like WTF you clearly have it stated on your site and now you don’t handle that. So you basically lie to people to get them to pay stuff off so you get a your kick back from the credit bureau. Credit Karma is nothing but lies. Don’t do any credit stuff though them until they can back what they promise

Refund Scamvance

I applied for refund advance on 01/24. It was accepted for $1000. It is now 03/25 and I still have not received it. Whenever I call, no one can give me an answer and they say this is happening to a lot of people. I see a lawsuit coming.

Horrible company and terrible service

Horrible company and terrible service. I verified my ID at least five times, and they still refused to remove the hold on my account. They will not even explain what is wrong with my photo, even though I submitted it exactly as instructed.

Can’t pick auto save date

I use the credit builder portion of the app. I wanted to change the auto save date to biweekly Fridays rather than Thursday because my payday has changed. You’d think it would be as easy as going into settlings to update the withdrawal date. I deactivated the auto save because it would withdraw the day before I get paid which may be a date I’m low or negative on cash, risking an overdraft fee of $36. I called to get it changed and the only other option was to change it to monthly or every 15 days. That’s not fixing my problem. It’s so simple yet so asinine that I can’t change the auto save date on my own. The only option is to do it manually. Once it builds back up to $500 I’m closing it out ASAP

A truly worthless concept

Auto emails to solve internal company issues are rude, incorrect, mind numbingly useless. I reported a fraud suspicion upon receiving an email from this company indicating that I had changed a password or used a different device recently. Not only do I not have now, nor have I ever an account with them. Upon alerting this to their CS team, the auto generated “customer support “ email response was to provide my account number. If that doesn’t help you out with seeing this business’s massive breech of its literal foundational function, not a truckload of college degrees and subscription fees will keep the fraud from demolishing their entire system and hasten the demise of a truly worthless concept.

Credit Karma doesn't care about you

I had i guess gotten my identity or accounts stolen. This was not credit karmas fault. Through credit karma specifically an attempted $4,800 out of my $2,800 was grabbed. My bank couldn't do much, as I had entrusted credit karma to save $100 per week the last 28 weeks and my bank saw them as safe. After numerous weeks of contact with credit karma's strictly email third world based workers, I got a solid $1,200 back. This is in account of the $2,000 taken from me that I never had. I was told that my account was under balance. So at the end of all this, I gave credit karma $800. I hate credit karma. I now will do my taxes by myself, not even turbo tax, since they are friends. In general I don't trust third party things like this. So at least they helped me in distrusting any and all third party life-easienizers. Let's get back to checkbooks and bartering.

Payroll Advance /System Glitch

I was offered the Credit Karma payroll advance a few months ago. I've had the same payroll deposit for the last six years. Around a month ago, I received a Fidelity deposit a week after I received my payroll deposit. Your system flagged my Fidelity deposit as my payroll which substantially lowered my advance limit and now because I didn't get a deposit into my account this week, my advance access has been frozen. I reached out to your customer support team and was told there is nothing you can do because it's a system issue, which is pretty bonkers to me. You guys created the system but you can't fix the system? I'll be using my secondary bank going forward. If an error is presented which is clearly not on my end, this should be rectified.
