Really enjoyed it
Lovely dinner and breakfast at the Coppa club Sonning. Attentive service . Pizza was amazing!
Thought we'd give The Townhouse (Bath)…
Thought we'd give The Townhouse (Bath) a go for a quick cocktail on Christmas Eve. We were directed to a table which turned out to be dripping in spilt drink which hadn't been cleaned up. We waited to be served but that didn't happen and we eventually went to the bar (say, 10 minutes) to ask for the table to be wiped down. Although the person behind the bar assured us this would be done, it didn't happen either and after a further 10 minutes, still no service. We left, the staff totally disinterested as to why..... Appalling!
Tiny portions, huge prices
My mum and I had lunch at the Bath branch today and I’m not gonna lie, we had to wait a while for our food and looking around the tables others did as well. But the main thing was how small sharing plates were; the aubergine was £9 - which had burrata with about 2 tablespoons of the aubergine and kidney bean sauce - and 7 tiny pieces of squid were also £9. They also forgot the side salad which was fine as they took it off the bill. The food was alright but it’s mainly how tiny the portions were and how expensive they were. We had to get some snacks two hours later as we weren’t full. However, the cocktails were amazing and the staff were friendly. This isn’t me having a go at all, but I think it’s important that people wanting to eat there and Coppa Club Bath itself knows it too.
shocking service at Coppa Club Tower…
shocking service at Coppa Club Tower Hill . I was in a party of 12 persons and we were booked for a table at 20:30pm . We arrived on time to be advised that our table was not ready ? At approx 21:30 we were seated to our table and approx 20 minutes later served our starters . we eventually received our drinks order and at around 22:15 our Main courses started to arrive except for one meal which had been lost . After some discussion with a Member of staff the final Meal was delivered to the table at around 22:45 . There was a complete lack of attention of the staff to keep track of our order and with great amusement they were surprised when at around 23:00 we asked where our deserts were ? . We subsequently advised them that deserts were now no longer required as members of our group needed to go to get trains home. The whole experience was farcical . We will not be booking or attending any functions here again
A Non-Starter
Let's start this review with a wise hospitality adage...'if your venue isn't ready to open, keep it closed.' The Bath Townhouse should adopt this piece of advice. It's nowhere near prepared to cater to live customers.
I'll begin on a positive note: the restaurant's art deco decor makes for a lovely venue. That's it, folks. The place oozes chaos the minute you walk through the door.
Once my wife and I were seated, we noticed the staff wandering about as if they'd just been roused from a two-day's sleep. It took 15 minutes for our server to stop at our table, and when she did, she had trouble entering our drink order on her tablet. When we tried ordering our food, my wife mentioned her coriander allergy, and the server said she had to get her manager to deal with it. Deal with what? Did he have a magic cure? Anyway, that's the last we saw of our server until we left.
We decided to abandon ship 10 minutes later, after my wife overheard a server informing another table (whose food had arrived, but not their drinks) that there was a delay at the bar. It was only going to get worse from here, so, we left; but not before telling the front-of-house staff that this place is not prepared to serve the people of Bath who are used to some of England's finest dining experiences.
And what did we do to celebrate my wife's birthday? We walked across the street to The Ivy, where we enjoyed the best breakfasts, and outstanding service, we've had in recent memory.
Swerve Coppa Club Bath for a couple of months, at least.
By the way, two days after this debacle, Copa's GM contacted me about my experience. I sent him this review. That was 10 days ago. I've yet to hear back from him.
Ruined our anniversary dinner
I took my wife here for our 7th anniversary (which is copper). I booked the igloos as I thought they looked very nice in the pictures but when we turned up I was told that we would have to spend a minimum of £250 as this is the terms for the weekend (which to be fair it does say that online but I missed it). I said to the lady sorry I missed that bit but as there were 4 empty igloos could we make an exception as it was our anniversary, I got told no as we are not looking to spend that sort of money we don't get to sit there. We were placed on the terrace where we were ignored for about 15 minutes. Eventually got the attention of one male waiters as they all seem to look away when they see your hand raised and placed our drink order which was warm at best when brought over, again it took another 10 minutes to try and place an order for food (which was quite nice). Staff are up there with the rudest and most useless I have ever had to deal with. It's a shame because I really thought it was going to be a great anniversary dinner but it was ruined.
Absolutely shocking service at Coppa…
Absolutely shocking service at Coppa Club Tower Hill yesterday.
Were ignored for the first 10 minutes. Eventually got the attention of one female member of the bar staff who acted moody and rude and told us we could not sit at the bar and asked who let us in!! We replied by explaining the staff at the door did and she continued to state we should not be there!
Out of the 4 drinks that we were eventually allowed to order, one never arrived, one was incorrect and the other 2 drinks (beer) were served warm!
Asked for a refund to then be approached by a female manager who was equally as rude and uninterested in correcting the behaviour of the staff or situation.
As a white woman out in a social group of mixed ethnicities I could not help but notice how our experience differed significantly to that of the middle aged white couple next to us who were greeted at the bar with no question and served with drinks without any problem!
There should be a zero star option on this review site.
Tower Bridge July 2022
Tower Bridge July 2022. Greeted by grumpy young girl. One server polite and efficient. Other staff inattentive. 1 part of my meal came out 15mins before the other and everyone else’s food. Stale bread and overcooked prawns.🤢 Salad consisted of a quarter of an iceberg lettuce with sunflower seeds and oil, and for that they charged me £5.50! As for the bill, a piece of acrylic was plonked on the table, and I was told to pay via the QR code 😬 I emailed them to complain, and not heard a word 😞
Coppa Club Sonning
Coppa Club Sonning
Booked table for wife birthday 6 people on 17 July. Appalling service from the moment we arrived. Table was dirty, glasses dirty, took 10 minutes to get water at table, 15 minutes for drinks order. I had to go to bar and ask for service as staff completely ignored us. I politely raised with manager as other table arrived after us and were given drinks immediately. Our food order took ages to arrive. No apology from the manager, the man behind the bar was aggressive in his response to me. Our family and friends used this place for several years previously, however NO more as the staff and management clearly not interested in providing a good service and not even an apology before we left.
poor experience at Henley Coppa Club
poor experience at Henley Coppa Club. staff said “we’re understaffed/struggling so things will be delayed”. food bad quality - specifically Burger was very dry and stale bread.
staff friendly & doing their best. not expected at £75 spend. premium built brand but basics forgotten
A toxic place
Visible rude management against the worker, food stick on the table, definitely untrained staff, slow on service food, the Wi-Fi system that they relay for order doesn't work as the restaurant aspected, and may the lord help you if the untrained staff or the angry management try to assist you. Worst experience of ever.
Visited here last week and was pretty…
Visited here last week and was pretty impressed though Service a little slow,it was courteous. However, came again yesterday because I enjoyed it so much previously and it was a totally different story. Waited a long time for someone to take our order and eventually my companion got her starter but after 20 minutes I still haven’t had mine. Finally managed to attract the attention of a staff member who said she would replace the order but it would be about 10 minutes.
By this time my companion had finished her starter and I still haven’t had mine. The main courses arrived and we said to the server that we weren’t ready for them because I was still waiting for my starter but she still carried on putting the meals down on the table even though we were saying to her stop we don’t want these yet! She was completely out of her depth and had no training on how to deal with people. At this point another member of staff came over and asked if my starter had been served yet and I said no, and at this point we had been there well over an hour , so I said just cancel the starter and we will just have the main course.
We had been dealing, at this point, with four different members of staff only one of them was apologetic although even she was a little off hand. There was no apology for how long we had been sitting there just waiting for service. We asked for the bill and then requested the service charge be removed. The server went to check with a manager to get it removed and as it is a discretionary service charge didn’t really see why she needed to ask! Our server then came back and asked us why we had removed it even though she already knew that we had been waiting an hour and 20 minutes on a starter that had been ordered twice That never arrived.
This place does have nice food and is in a fantastic location but your staff really let the place down. They are surly and hostile, and really don’t know how to do their job.
Worst customer service ever.
Worst customer service ever.
They ask you to send an email to discuss your complaint but no one even bothers to reply.
Won't be visiting again
I had already visited back in April with friends and the service was terrible. Our waiter was rude and we had to wait for long time for them to even take our drinks order... but I decided to go back because I really wanted to take my family for lunch in one of the igloos for my husbands birthday and thought that maybe the service was a one off (now looking at other reviews I realise that it wasn't).. I wish I hadn't bothered now. Bearing in mind you can book these for 2 - 8 people you would think that the minimum spend would be less - especially at lunchtime. I must admit when I booked I did not read the full terms and conditions of the minimum spend of £150. Going back on to the website to see how and why I missed this, I realised I didn't click the read more button.. My bad! Anyway we were able to book the igloo for 4 of us, two adults and two children but after being reminded of the spend limit and looking at the menu, there was no way we were going to get through £150 worth of food - we weren't drinking alcohol and the kids meals were not much at all.
We notified a waitress and were told we can sit inside. We asked if the igloo would be occupied otherwise and were told yes. So inside we went.
We then saw another couple be seated in our igloo, who had a drink and then were also moved inside - guessing they didn't read the terms and conditions either!! So there were two igloos left empty for the whole time we were there. Which was very disappointing, especially for our two children. We still spent just over £100 on the average food - Really cant see why they wouldn't have just let us sit in the hour that we were there! I didn't make a fuss or mention that it was my husbands birthday but had a feeling that this wouldn't have much of a difference anyway. Wont be visiting again. Such a shame because its such a lovely location and could really be amazing.
Horrible
Visited tower bridge today and thats why I gave this place 1 star for the location! Poor service and horrible food
Cancelled within 2 days of booking and…
Cancelled within 2 days of booking and charged £120! Have lost another customer @ Cobham Coppa Club!! Totally unacceptable and unfair
Beware the savage cancellation policy!
We had booked a family birthday meal for 5 people at COPPA COBHAM. Daughter woke up ill that morning, so we called to cancel the booking for that evening - only to be told that we will be charged - turns out it's £20 per head!
I can understand this severe policy in the event of a 'no show' but, having taken the trouble to make a call to cancel the booking, I am shocked that we are now being charged £100! We won't be going back and they have lost a regular customer.
In the reams of the dreaded T&C's (that you have to tick to accept before progressing a booking) is the fact that bookings of 5+ people will be charged a cancellation fee of £20 per head if not cancelled 24 hours in advance. So beware.
Last sunday my family and I went to the…
Last sunday my family and I went to the coppa club in Streatley to celebrate a family members birthday.
Unfortunately the following day, 2 of us are suffering from food poisoning.
The espresso martini I had did not taste ok at all. Nice coffee flavour on top but it was like dish water underneath & split. I and one other also had the Carbonara for mains. It was luke warm if that, lardons were fatty and undercooked and the egg yolk cold & raw. No warmth throughout at all. Was like slop.
I bought this to attention with no avail.
After a £200 bill, food poisoning & unable to attend work due to food poisoning the next day I felt it only right to give you this feedback & complain. I truly feel robbed of my hard earned cash & very upset.
We had an early dinner reservation last…
We had an early dinner reservation last night at the newly opened Haslemere Coops Club at the The Georgian Hotel. Haslemere really needs this type of mid-up market establishment so we have high hopes for it. This experience wasn’t great but it has a good interior and an attentive serving team. The problem was the food. My wife ordered the cauliflower with rice which sounded tasty as a main but was terrible. The cauliflower was boiled then burnt on the grill. The rice was a huge wet slop of white rice that was over cooked and just mush. Our very nice waiter was very understanding and didn’t charge for it. My first glass of rosé was not cold enough and changed but I still needed ice in it. It’s a nice place and I really hope these are just teething problems is it’s only it’s second week.
See new review from 28th October, Fantastic!
A lovely afternoon with my family
A lovely afternoon was spent with my daughter (Carol Pollard) and two grandchildren along with a friend in one of your igloos to celebtrate my birthday. What a great idea, the food was very good and the service excellant. Our waitress was cheerful and socialable and I would love to have the opportunity to return
