Disgusting company to deal with , forcing people to insure their properties with Zurich insurance company and if you don't they fine you £60. Rude , unhelpful and threatening with their emails.
My sister (86 yrs. old) has received letter from Compton Group offering "Purchase of leasehold reversion" for £650. After reading all these reviews I don,t know what to advise her, she pays a nominal ground rent, so is she better staying as she is, or buying the said "Leasehold reversion" I also do not really understand all these terms.
An absolute disgrace of a company who do not do what they are paid to do, haven’t been to our property for months and months and months, our car park is so full of leaves you can’t even see the car park, I pay for 2 car parking spaces here and have to park my car down the road and walk home, leaving my car here gets my car dirty and my footwear dirty just walking to and from my car

Avoid Compton Management Group at all costs.
The consistent failures, rising costs, lack of transparency around bills seem to be a constant across most managing agents but Compton Management Group fail to protect residents safety.
They have allowed the unhoused in Colchester to access the building and failed to protect the safety and security of residents. Upon advising it will be fixed, they miss their date & continue to put the safety of their residents at risk.

Just had to deal with Comptons over their mishandling of my late mother’s purchase of her freehold 18 years ago. They have tried to hide over their errors.
The full story is that my mum passed away last December and we are in the process of selling her home. We always knew that she purchased her Freehold 18 years ago at the same time as my brother with his property. During the initial part of the sale it came out that the property was not Freehold but Leasehold, so what did they do with the money she sent. I contacted Comptons and at first they tried to fob me off. I persisted and within 3 hours they came back and said that they had not processed the change with the land registry. They gave me all sorts of stories about how much it has cost them but are not charging us. I told them that if the sale fell through and it was their fault I would be taking it further.
It did get sorted to some degree but it has costed us extra with our solicitors and now it seems that there is 3 title deeds, the original leasehold, a new leasehold incorrectly done by Comptons and the new freehold. It is a mess. It is getting sorted but Comptons are denying any fault.
Be very wary of dealing with them

Compton's tried the 'must be insured on Compton's block policy' with me. Sent them the S164 Notice and provided them with MY chosen insurer at a quarter of the cost. Compton's didn't like that so then tried to take me to the first tier property tribunal for a breach of covenant for erecting a structure without consent. I will save you the details, but I had the most enjoyable day witnessing the tribunal Judge rip Compton's solicitor a new one on multiple occasions. Recently had the result from the tribunal, I WON!!!. This shower are scum and they are now going to be paid their ground rent by two instalments annually (as per my lease), but not until I have been served with the correct S166 Notice of course. I will also be paying the amount due in postal orders :-) - These fakers try and use the law against you, but a little bit of research is all you need to know that they are just chancers trying their arm. - Picked the wrong victim here though as I WON and now I am going to be a PITA for the next 30 years.
Would like to get hold of Rachelle too as I would be absolutely delighted to take them on again on behalf of anyone who needs help. I also have a very compelling back story that the media will love if we can get the momentum going.

My partner is selling her property and Crompton Group are the leaseholders for the property. The leasehold requires to be transfered to the new owner.
The selling chain is small and should complete in 6 weeks.
Crompton Group charge £100 to provide information to solicitors but within a timescsle of up to 15 working days (plus the weekends this is actually 21 days)
My partner contacted them by telephone to enquire why this took so long in such a time critical situation such as house sale chains. The answer was that it does due to company policy but for an extra £25 (€125 in total) this could in fact be done within 3 days !!!!!.

I have been trying to set right the communal dish antenna since yesterday. The employees drag their feet. I called them a third time today and was advised that something would be done in a couple of days ! As you don't expect anything during the weekend, it means I shall have to postpone watching TV till the middle of next week , if at all they care to get the repairs done.
Compton Property Management Group assume that all leaseholders and tenants are criminals who will not pay their service charge, ground rent and property insurance on time or at all; therefore, Compton always communicate with leaseholders and tenants in a passive aggressive manner. Calling the company involves talking to staff who are unhelpful and hide behind internal bureaucratic procedures to avoid dealing with any issue unless pressed to do so. When pressed staff are rude both verbally and in written format. The term 'customer service' is alien to Compton Group staff, who see their role as dictator instead of facilitator. My experience with Compton Property Management has been so poor that in future I will not purchase any property managed by Compton, and if a property I own falls under Compton group I will sell the property immediately
I paid £800 for part of my leasehold on 6/8/2022 and still have received no paperwork to finalise this purchase.
Would be zero stars if available. Taken over as our new leaseholders and have done nothing but bully and threaten since! Trying to force us to use their expensive nominated insurance or we will breach contract which is incorrect now stating we owe 5 times as much ground rent than we do. Threatening CCJs and intimidating tactics to back you into a corner and rob you blind. I feel bad for any elderly that will be genuinely terrified and pay these scammers.
Avoid at all costs! If I could give a 0 star for their customer service I would, not to mention the insurance they force you to use for 2-3 times the going rate!
