This company has the best customer service I have come across in my many years of photography. Always polite, respectful, honest and very helpful, and human. The website is easy to navigate which is great for me as I am getting older, goods arrive well packed and on time. What more can I say!!! I wish them all the best for the future. Date of experience - over many years.

I attended the store to complete my part exchange as I live within a few miles.
Found the staff treated me with not only respect but were helpful to show me what ever I asked to see. The price offered via online quote was increased when they inspected and checked the camera which others have not in the past.After sales service was also very good when I enquired about a slight issue and rectified over the phone promptly.

This was my third purchase from Clifton Cameras and I haven't been disappointed. The first two occasions were straightforward web sales which didn't involve any salesperson intervention. My third purchase however involved a trade-in. I was more than surprised by the final quote I received which was better than the initial quote. Needless to say I accepted the offer and duly purchased another item. The whole process of initial quote, to arranging collection, to returning item back to Clifton Cameras, to assessment and offer was completed in just over a day. Impressive! what's more, the item was dispatched the same day.
The Used equipment team at Clifton Cameras were very courteous, helpful, knowledgable and worked as a team.
I can certainly recommend Clifton Cameras. Admittedly they cannot carry every item of photographic equipment but I'm sure they could get something if you asked.

A professional team with good people who work on behalf of their customers. Troy in particular was on the ball and very proactive always keeping me informed. We should support businesses like this who continue to treat people like people, are knowledgeable, competent and in fact very competitive.

I had a chat on the website about purchasing a pair of 18x50 AW IS Canon Image Stabilised Binoculars as I had a couple of questions. I decided to buy the bins yesterday at 4pm and received them at 11:45am this morning which is outstanding service thank you I am amazed by the prompt service.

The Canons are the best bins I have ever looked thru very simple to set up and within minutes I was sat watching the birds from my garden room. The clarity and sharpness of the view when the stabiliser is applied is just stunning way beyond my expectations I can't wait to get out on a walk to try them properly.

From my initial phone contact, everything was so professional, from the way the staff speak, to their nothing is too much trouble attitude, they were brilliant. Over the course of a few weeks I spoke to two individuals by phone and two in store and every one of them was equally professional. I would totally recommend this company to anyone.

Excellent advice over the phone which helped me make an informed decision on the purchase of new binoculars. Great product (ex demo Swarovski) so delighted by both the quality and price. Clifton Cameras were competitively priced for what I needed and couldn’t have been more supportive. Ordered Saturday pm, delivered Sunday pm. Now that’s what I call service.

I would like to write another review to this amazing store & outstanding customer service.
I would like to say that Laura was absolutely amazing with helping me & explaining to me about the photo machine in store.
She also has helped me to edit a picture which I’m going to paint in watercolour & she did her up most to help me which was 100% customer service.
I am really looking forward to visiting this store again as it makes you feel so very warm & welcoming when you visit there.

Very helpful. I was having trouble with my camera/ telescope setup so I asked them for help They went the extra mile and asked their suppliers for an answer. Even though the issue wasn’t fully resolved they did as much as they could and now I’m a lot closer to resolving the issue.

I was super impressed with the customer care I received from Clifton Cameras and Hawke Binoculars. The strap on my binoculars broke while I was birding in Spain and they careered down a cliff face. Result was severely damaged bins that were no longer functional. When I contacted Clifton Cameras they were very supportive and quickly liaised with the manufacturer and today I was told I would receive a new pair under warranty. Hats off to both Clifton Cameras and Hawke Binoculars for their excellent customer service. The entire exchange took less than a week, between sending them off to Clifton Cameras, and confirmation that a replacement pair would be posted out to me.

Ordered a Sony A6700, new to the hobby so ordered a newly launched lens from sigma, but in error I picked the one in stock with wrong mount for the sony.
So they sent order confirmation, I spotted my error.
Called them(yes real people whom answer the phone)
They said no problems, we shall send camera and batteries and new Lens later when it arrives in the UK
Great result, great service and real people in a Family business.

Sam and Jonathan really went the extra mile to help me identify what memory card and USB connector I would need for an old Casio camera I have. They had great knowledge of Cameras around its era and the service here is fast friendly, couldn’t recommend more.

It started well. I asked for advice on suitable binoculars to replace my 15 year old lost Leicas and was sent suitable advice.I decided to buy some expensive (nearly £2000) Swarovskis on this advice, the website was easy to use and they arrived next day. I was excited, and decided to take them out for a walk.
However when I tried to fit the straps I simply couldn’t do the last step in the instructions, even when I watched an online video.
I telephoned CC. Sat in a queue for a while then told they were busy and to leave a message (no option to stay in the queue). I tried online chat on my phone – posted a message but it wouldn’t post – some glitch in the phone version.
Finally got on to online chat on my computer. Clearly a bot and doesn’t take everything in, but eventually got someone to ring me. This person tried hard, but had no expertise. Started to take me through the video I’d already watched. Still didn’t work. Suggested trying local shops for help – I asked if they’d have the expertise as I didn’t want to waste more time. He said he’d check and get back to me, as I was wanting to go out (without the useless binoculars).
We then exchanged emails in which he suggested posting them back to them to look for a fault. No postage was initially offered. When I queried this he said they would pay up to £10 if a fault was discovered. I said this was unacceptable for posting something weighing more than half a kilo and worth £2000 which would need some security (I looked up Royal Mail rates online – around £75 for that weight and value).
He then (eventually) offered to get DPD to collect it.
I looked further online and discovered the problem was a known difficulty, with people finding the instructions misleading and needing exceptional manual dexterity and strength to do it. Luckily I have a daughter who has those, and so I went to her house and she finally managed. It wasn’t easy for her. She was worried that the fitting might break if she exerted the pressure which eventually proved necessary.
I’d describe my strength and manual dexterity as average, and I definitely couldn’t do it. We both have excellent cognitive skills and can only conclude that the design is poor, and both the instructions and the video are misleading.
I’m disappointed that there was no awareness of this issue when I spoke to customer support.
A lot of my time was wasted, I experienced a lot of stress, and my pleasure in a new expensive purchase was diminished, and I wasn’t able to use the binoculars on my walk.
I’d expected Clifton Cameras to have more knowledgeable expert support than, for example, Amazon. I was disappointed.
In future I’ll either buy cheapest from Amazon (who have a simple clear returns policy with postage paid automatically), or from a local shop.
I’m sure in customer support did their best, but the company does not employ people with the expertise on particular products needed here.
I guess this is a learning experience for me.
