My partners son bought his first car from this mob. Over priced , clearly not serviced. Six months later , despite taking out their ‘ platinum’ extended two year warranty for £629 they refused to repair the vehicle when it broke down. They said that corrosion from the spark plugs and resulting corrosion on other parts was not covered. When we threatened them with the small claims court they told us that if we did that they would not release the car until after any court proceedings. They then said the cost to fix was over £1300 and and that as a gesture of good will they would split the cost. They even had the nerve to only charge £90 per hour labour instead of the usual £180.
We recovered the car and had it fixed by an independent mechanic for £187 all in.
This is a farce of a company and in my opinion one to be avoided at all costs.
I expect this review to be answered with the copy and paste ‘ Lookers’ answer which I suspect will be a total waste of time.

2024 Renault Megane Etech not covered under warranty! Totally shocked to learn today that Charles Hurst Renault Newtownabbey have taken the decision not to cover a broken internal mechanism under warranty and are asking for over £300 to fix it. I do not recommend this company, and do not assume anything about Renault warranty for a nearly new car.

Would give 0 stars if I could.
Sold a car in August 2024 by October the cars clutch had completely went. The car was in for 6 weeks being fixed. Then in December the service light came on - we were told the car had been serviced as an agreement of the sale. The service book was also signed on the day of sale - this was clearly fraudulent. Now in may, the engine has had a fault and we are without the car again.
Avoid this company at all costs. They sell faulty cars and fraudulently sign service books.

Ordered a sweater which took 6 weeks to arrive and was then about four sizes smaller than indicated. Numerous emails and contacts through their website have been ignored. They have no address or company details. KEEP AWAY!!!

Excellent experience from start to.finish. Sales advisors went above and beyond making it a smooth process from start to finish. I initially dealt with Blair who was fantastic arranging my test drive on the day.
Then I dealt with Brendan who was
extremely helpful, easy to contact and knew
everything about the vehicle I purchased. He was readily available to answer any
questions I had and I would 100% recommend. Fantastic service.

Son bought a car October 2024 with the promise that the damaged wing mirror would be replaced, after two months of chasing the sales guy left. Contacted CH Mallusk to speak with the manager numerous times & sent emails - still no reply. Physically called into the showroom, ushered out quickly with the instruction to forward emails & pictures to another sales guy, one week later phoned said sales guy only for him to ask who I spoke to in the show room (YOU). Four weeks and nothing back from Mallusk so contacted Lookers complaints, 14 days after sending a complaint email to Lookers nothing back - maybe time to contact The Motor Ombudsman. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP is my advice.

I bought a 1 year old car for my son and when I viewed the car it was during the evening and quite dark. I asked if there were any scuffs or marks and was told 'no, nothing'.
I collected it a few days later and that weekend it was apparent that there were 2 large scores down the full length of the car, damage to the front panel and a dent.
It cost just over £500 to try and repair the car but sadly the scrapes are still visible. I feel I was lied to and deceived, never again.

I have a problem with a rusted front subframe on our 50k miles, full history, 2017 Captur. I called on to Renault Glengormley to discuss how they could help me eg a claim to Renault UK and get the car sorted as the intention is to sell it fully sorted. Two behind the counter service assistants, first names only given after full requested but withheld here, and both with sour expressions, checked the parts computer and the lead saying they hadn't done these in 4 years, with nothing more to do and really that's where the conversation ended. Another amazing customer service NI Renault dealer said they could help, getting my full details and the car is booked in with them and there was no issue at all for a warranty claim. Once the job is done I'll see how I can either trade in or sell the car privately to buy a new car from them. OOPS Charles Hurst!
Why would I respond to Charles Hurst...not worth my time?.

Found the perfect replacement - TOYOTA Corolla Excel Sport 2.0 Hybrid - a super driving tourer with lots of space and a load of fantastic extras all wrapped up in a 10 year warranty promise.
The dealing experience was equally enjoyable at Used Direct Newtownabbey. Although due to family issues my availability was very limited, for Martin McKenna (Sales) nothing was too much trouble. NO fuss NO pressure. Excellent interpersonal skills and willing to meet my needs as a customer - retaining personal registration number amongst others posed no difficulties.
Thank you Martin, I'll be back for more !!!!

Avoid these Boucher Road cowboys at all costs. My son's car is under 6 month's warranty. After 3 months the exhaust fell off. They will do anything to avoid honouring a warranty, including over 2 week's delay in booking it in, charging for a courtesy car and telling him it would cost £168 diagnostic charge. That's right, diagnostics to check that the exhaust fell off after 3 months of purchase! It's in the boot ffs. I also don't trust them not to charge for any repair. I have got my local mechanic to fix it 2 days later. It took a couple of hours, a new exhaust and labour for not much more than the needless diagnostics. No doubt they'll respond to this with their meaningless standard response, "thank you for your feedback" etc

My son bought a car in October. 6 months warranty came with it. Yesterday the exhaust fell off. Contacted Charles Hurst. Car can't be fixed for more than 2 weeks. No courtesy car. And to top it off they want £168 for diagnostic. The exhaust fell off. Doesn't cost £168 to diagnose that.

Dealt with Jack Lynas when changing wife's car at Hurst, Boucher Road. Found him to be very helpful with a good knowledge of vehicle she was interested in. After test drive deal was done. Very straightforward process. Was a pleasure to deal with this very pleasant young man.

Hi contacted Charles Hurst to book RAv4 hybrid in for a service it will be nine years old in January and gets a service every year at this time to keep up the 10 year warranty. I was told there would be an additional £160 diagnostic check for them to look at rattle at times coming from the rear off the car when going over speed ramp. Surely this should be part the annual service/ checks that are carried out. I refused to pay this and you have now lost out on this service, but as big organisation you are not concerned about me.

Abysmal service from Charles Hurst Boucher Road. Brand new car received last December, had car 4 days when electric system failed and caused breakdown. “Fixed” by Boucher Rd and back again few days later as work not fully completed.
Same system failure 15 days ago. No car for 15 days as they do not provide courtesy car for customers.
Went to collect car today to discover 150 miles driven by staff on car to check for fault. Asked re reimbursement of fuel and told rudely by Phil from service they don’t reimburse fuel used. Told several faults identified in car, reprogrammed and battery replaced yet today told no fault could be replicated.
Absolutely appalling service, and no customer care. Definitely will never recommend or use this company again.

Charles Hurst used cars on Boucher road are awful.
Their staff are dishonest, misleading and untrustworthy.
They made it impossible for me to buy a car without taking an expensive finance deal that would give them a large commission, despite the fact I wanted to buy with cash.
Their first lie was that the car was not on the site.
The next lie was the Car was faulty.
The next lie was it is to busy to test the car.
They allowed me to travel two hours for a scheduled test drive and when I arrived they asked me had I not got the voicemail and the car has been sold,
no doubt on finance.
No voice mail left so that was their final lie.
Utterly contemptible people, service and organisation.

Disappointing Experience with Charles Hurst Group
I recently had an unpleasant experience with Charles Hurst Group while inquiring about a used Skoda listed on usedcarsni.com. I was contacted by Scott Woods, who initially seemed helpful and provided a video presentation of the car. After several phone calls and emails, I decided to visit Belfast to see the car and most likely purchase it. To secure the vehicle, I paid a deposit of £250 on March 20th.
However, I later found a similar car from a local dealer in ROI and opted to buy that instead. I promptly informed Charles Hurst Group of my decision on March 22nd and requested a refund of my deposit. Despite my timely communication, I’ve been struggling to get my money back.
I emailed Scott explaining the situation and followed up with phone calls on March 25th and April 2nd. Both times, I was told that the deposit had been refunded on March 28th. It is now well past that date, and I still have not received the funds in my bank account.
This experience has been frustrating and unprofessional. The lack of follow-through and transparency in handling a simple refund has left me disappointed and unlikely to recommend Charles Hurst Group to others.
