Disappointing dealer

What started out as a positive enough experience, turned into a sour one. Car was miss sold and falsely advertised, few issues presented themselves over the 8 days I owned the vehicle, and after sales service was poor. I exercised my right to return the vehicle and after some heated conversations and threatening legal action, I eventually got money returned.

I recently bought a car from Usedirect Belfast and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish the team were professional, friendly and really helpful. I live 90+ miles from Belfast and took…

I live 90+ miles from Belfast and took a day to visit regarding a couple of issues with a Kadgar bought in Jan 25 with an 18 month warranty. Cigarette lighter socket not working ( only discovered when we went to fix a dash cam ) firstly there was a potential diagnostic charge of £175 !! (a wear and tear item isn't covered) but how do you establish the problem without diagnosing ???
I had checked fuses prior to calling in ! Turns out the lighter socket is faulty but not covered under warranty. I questioned why...you have car 8 months and could have damaged socket!! No !! Only discovered recently when dash cam fitted!!
Used sales say it is covered ...service says not !! £100 !!
I argued my cases so service has to consult warranty provider ...could take a day or 2 to get an answer..so another nearly 200 mile round trip another day.
The crowning glory was Rachel in servicing...she needs a personality transplant at minimum !!
I'm sure Hursts aren't going to worry about 1 disgruntled customer given the volume of sales!!
Must give a shout out to Mario in sales ..a sound lad !!
I think the answer is buy local from someone you know.

Run - Run Away Fast -

Bought a second hand Mercedes from these guys - Boucher Road branch. More than I have ever spent on a car - not only did they not negotiate on price they charged me £25 to put fuel in it so I could drive it home! Within 8 weeks - check engine light on! Eventually - they referred me to their contracted service garage! After six weeks refused to cover the entire fault under warranty! After another six weeks my car was finally booked in to be repaired!

It went in with two minor engine management faults - they have given it back with a non functioning Turbo -and EIGHT separate engine management faults! They have taken a Mercedes and given me back a tractor!

Did I mention I am registered disabled and live over 30 miles away?? No courtesy car - no attempt to help with getting the car there or back!

I cannot believe that a company that I assumed would be honest and trustworthy are not!

Usedirect Newtownabbey is bad

Usedirect Newtownabbey is the worst place I ever bought a car from, spend over 18k on a car and once I left the place no o e would return my phone calls or emails, I had to ask for an invoice couple of times, I was promised a spare key as it wasn't there but to this day I didn't get it, both the salesman and the manager ignore my phonecalls, hard to believe that Charles Hurst have crew like that.

2021 Audi Q3 PXZ 1314 bought by my…

2021 Audi Q3 PXZ 1314 bought by my partner in their Portadown branch early this year. Within 7 days we heard knocking coming from the front suspension. Several weeks and trips up and down, a replaced shock it was sent to Audi for them to identify the top mounts needed replaced. After querying further we realized no service had been carried out prior to buying the car but some basic checks had. We were also told by their mechanic at the start of this the chassis just needed grease and nothing was wrong with it.
The end result was a refund on the car with fair usage, something not easily done due to them having the wrong calculation on their paperwork and then trying to charge £900 for mileage. Can't fault some of the employees we spoke to but I would not recommend, they did carry out a service in the end but it seemed like a battle to get anything looked at. Cheaper cars there for a reason. Go elsewhere! Also be wary of the delay in booking the car in post purchase, we had to wait several weeks which lapsed the time to seek a full refund. Something we now believe was not coincidental. In response to Charles Hurst - a formal complaint was raised against the registration on the review twice, if you had looked it up. The lack of effort to replying to this is of no surprise and visible for everyone now.

Charles Hurst Nissan Newtownabbey are exceptional! Friendly yet professional service in lovely surroundings in a small local dealership near the Chimney Corner. Special mention to Ashlea, Andrew & Dominic who went above and beyond to answer all my questions on the various options available. I was kept updated from the first email I sent, to trading in my car and ordering my new car, to pick up and handover.
The new car " reveal" was a particularly nice touch!

The customer service in your portadown…

The customer service in your portadown office is disgusting. Got a seat leon on may 9th and when I got it home the passenger window wouldn't go down, so booked it in to get fixed. Whilst I was waiting on my appointment it then flashed up "check left tail light". so I then asked for that to be checked. I went to collect the car and was referred to as Mr Smylie which I didn't not appreciate!. Brian ashton who was dealing with my repair then says oh I had a look at the light and couldn't see anything. Nearly 2 months later and it's still coming up so there's clearly a problem!. Also once I went into recieve the car James clarke handed me a form and a cheque stating a form was lost and I had to go to the post office- I didn't get a chance for about a week as I work full time, unbeknown to me I was driving around with no tax!!! no once did he tell me this, baring in mind this is my first car!. when I put a complaint in via a phone call James than rang me and was extremely rude and condescending his words and I quote " we only sell cars we don't tax them".. Also...yes there is more- Driving down the motorway and my seatbelt becomes undone now I thought this was a once off but no has happened a few times and I absolutely refuse to speak to james nor brian as they are so so unhelpful and rude.

Just took the delivery off my new xmax…

Just took the delivery off my new xmax 125 Tech max Thanks to James from Charles Hurst Yamaha for helping me get everything sorted out from all the paperwork and the delivery of the new bike.I have been a repeat customer since I got my very first bike back in 2017 . Woeful customer service

Absolutely worst customer service I've ever experienced. My car was booked in for 8 am Monday. I hadn't heard anything from them by lunchtime. It took 5 attempts before someone answered the phone. This person was most unhelpful and unpleasant told me my car was on the ramp and she'd call me when there was an update. I called again late in the afternoon, same person answered the phone and said " I told you I'd call when I had an update." By Tuesday 4 pm I had no call from them about my car so I went to the showroom to the service centre to see what was going on. I waited 10 mins before anyone acknowledged I was there. I told the person who talked to me about my experience he apologised said my car would be ready tomorrow and he would personally contact me. By 2 pm Wednesday he had not called me so I called them to see if my car was ready or if they knew what time as I had to get someone to drive me over. I was told yes it's ready!!

When I went to pick it up, again, I had to wait until someone acknowledged me. She brought the invoice for me to sign and but didn't bring my keys with her, so I had to wait again. She advised they were just charging for diagnosis and not for the 4 hours labour like I should be grateful. 4 hours labour, they had my car for 3 days to repair a snapped cable to the electronic parking brake!!
Absolutely woeful customer service.

Charles Hurst Free2move Scam

Called Charles Hurst to book a service and was told £291. I said I could get a lot cheaper elsewhere. The staff member went away for 2 minutes and came back with a price of £149. Great I’ll book it in and I’ll need a courtesy car £20 extra on the website. I was told that they don’t do courtesy cars (despite the website still showing they do for £20), and that they use a car hire company ‘Europcar’ and I would have to pay £36 for insurance. I said I would arrange my own insurance for 1 day for £7. Booked the car in. Then yesterday received a text message from a company called Free2move. It stated I had car hire for today and had a link. Clicked on the link. It was asking for 2 forms of ID and my card details to be uploaded to their site. Wary of scams I uploaded 4 pics of trendy jumpers and deleted the text. I checked out the Free2Move website. There are no contact details for the UK, that’s a massive red flag. They have the worst trust pilot score I’ve seen. Charles Hurst have made the decision to make customer service worse for their customers by using this company to hire cars rather than provide a courtesy car as stated on their website. I was told the incorrect hire company on the phone and was told nothing of needing 2 forms of ID or having to pre authorise my card. I called 1st thing this morning and cancelled the booking. The whole thing came across as a scam and I was deliberately lied to/not given full information on the process by the service advisor on the call regarding supplying a car whilst mine was serviced. DO NOT use their partner Free2move to supply a car while Charles hurst have yours.

After sales is very poor

The after sales service here is really poor.
I have had the car in 4 times with the same warning light and they give it back saying no fault found.
No communication from the service manager.
Really poor.
Don't buy a car from these guys.

TERRIBLE SERVICE & DAMAGED CAR

Excited for our car to be delivered to us for it turn up with no valet done on it, and the car we thought we were getting to have many issues that now need rectifying. Have complained to the sales exec we were dealing with for him to ignore us for weeks & getting nowhere with management either.
How can a car be sold without true extent of the damage being told to the customer & then be ignored when sending over the evidence. Clearly this car was not appraised before putting up for sale and if it was then I'd be concerned how anyone can sell cars without having knowledge of what work would need carrying out! To also tell us it went for 'prep' is a crazy statement when its in such poor condition.
Don't waste your time buying cars from this dealership - not only did they not price the car correctly at the start, they then couldn't even spell the brand correctly in the citnow sent to us let alone sell a used car to a significant standard!!

Just picked up my new car today. The whole team at Charles Hurst Citroen were amazing but in particular Ethan went above and beyond to give me the best customer service I've ever had. I was kept upto date every step of the way, guided through each step and they were always available to talk to anytime I had a question. And to top it all off they managed to reduce my APR which saved me a considerable amount of money. Thanks again for a brilliant experience. You guys rock!!!

Not a good experience

Purchased a car from Charles hurst used direct on 8th March. Had been to see the car the previous week on the 1st, left a deposit, was told the car would be put through the workshop & checked before we collected it. Arrived on the 8th to collect the car, everything seemed fine, only when we drove home did we realise the mileage had went up significantly. Then when we checked the car ourselves, there was no tyre kit, the screen wash was completely empty and the glove compartment door was broken(quite clearly the car had not went through the workshop). After numerous phone calls and a few weeks these things were sorted. We did put our complaint to Charles hurst but am still waiting to be contacted. Very disappointed and let down by the lack of care and would not recommend them.
