I had a wonderful experience with Paula, Sue, and Linda at Castle Point Council. They were helpful, patient, and professional. Many thanks to them for resolving my letting property council tax issue. I appreciate their assistance.

Fantastic shopping centre, great variety of shops, plenty of parking, easy and regular bus routes.
The actual centre itself is kept very clean and the toilets that are provided by Castlepoint are the cleanest and nicest public toilets I have ever used.
Just need to add a nice homeware store in the vacant slot.And then it will be perfect 😊

Lying management in the office. Lenny giving me a full time round on refuse then lying and saying he never said anything. It was only so he can have his son working there. Getting pulled from pillar to post on the rounds by Kevin gouldie and Lenny who in fairness are a pair of complete lazy supervisors who shouldn't even be in the job. Not even offered an interview when applied for the job role. It was fixed that will knew that he wanted Lenny's son the machanic brother and someone else without even offering an interview to anyone else who applied for the job. Total discrimination and a complete diabolical company full of favouritism and workers telling management where to put loaders or drivers not good. Management have no clue how to run the operation should be ashamed.

1 Star Review – No Local School Places in Castle Point

We bought our house in Castle Point in December, excited to settle down and give our son a good education. Since then, we’ve tried to get him a place in a local Year 7 school — but every single school has a waiting list. Despite living here and paying council tax, the schools are full of children from outside the area, leaving no space for local families.

Right now, my son is being homeschooled because there’s simply no school available for him. It’s extremely stressful — we’re struggling, and it could easily affect our jobs and even our home life.

I want to warn anyone thinking of buying a house in Castle Point: be very careful. You might move here expecting good schools, but you could end up without any school place for your child. The council needs to take responsibility and prioritise local children first.

Castle Point Borough Council has been downgraded in its latest inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing. The regulator ordered the council to “make fundamental changes so that improved outcomes are delivered.”

The regulator inspected the council’s housing system again in December after an inspection in September. The regulator also found while the council shows “willingness” to improve but there was not “evidence to sufficiently assure” the regulator the council understands the “risks” to tenants due to any unassessed and or unaddressed issues with the council homes. The government’s regulator has given the council a C4 rating, which is the lowest possible for housing.

Following the latest rating and report from the housing regulator, Dave Blackwell, leader of Castle Point Council, said: “ We are sorry the council has not met the expectations of our tenants or of the regulator. We remain committed to ensuring that our homes provide safe and warm places to live for our tenants.

“We accept and recognise that in the past the council hasn’t got everything right, and we are fully committed to making the necessary improvements. Nothing is more important to us than our tenants’ wellbeing and safety and this will remain our priority even after all issues have been addressed.

“The council has already made key decisions to put this right. In November, we agreed to invest an additional £438,000 into the improvement journey, and we will take further decisions to invest so that we are completely satisfied we have done all we can to provide safe and decent homes that our tenants expect and maintain the highest standards of service to them.

Of course this is total fantasy. Dave Blackwell, leader of Castle Point Council, an ex businessman and owner of a garden centre on Canvey Island has done nothing for anyone other than himself. His garden centre was used to populate the roadways and round-abouts in and around Canvey Island ensuring himself a steady flow of tax payers hard earned income to fill his wallet.

Dave Blackwell, leader of Castle Point Council, feathers his own nest and does not care about the tenants renting the council properties within his care. The government’s regulator's C4 rating, which is the lowest possible for housing proves that.
