Poor communication

I placed an order a few days ago. I understand it may take longer than usual as it's sale time. However I've not received an email from them confirming order and now the site won't let me log in AND YES I have entered email and password correctly

Very poor - 7 hours later ‘sorry to disappoint but order cancelled because out of stock’

Very poor. Ordered 3x cardigans in the sale at around 11am for gifts, chose the 3 i wanted and ignored others, website hiccups but paid and order confirmed. E mail at 6pm to say ‘sorry for disappointment but out of stock’. How can one have any faith in such appalling service. Complete waste of my time and now have to start over to find replacement gifts. I expect my order. to be honoured. Update: checked website, item is still in stock, no response to subsequent e mail.

Chiming in from California, U.S.A. I was shopping online for quality Cashmere matching hat & gloves for my 5yo grand-daughter. I felt now that she has started appreciating her fashion at this age, it's time for her first pieces of Cashmere clothing. Naturally, I didn't want her first experience with Cashmere be a cheap one.
Apparently, there were no stores online anywhere in the world with matching Cashmere clothing for children until Brora popped up. I wasn't familiar with them but they seemed to be the only choice. I ordered the items a week before Christmas absolutely NOT expecting a fast delivery all the way from Scotland at this time of the year. I would've been happy just to receive the items whenever they could arrive. Without any extra express delivery charges, Brora shipped my purchase via DHL and it arrived in 3 days just before Christmas. The quality is great, the price is right, and the delivery couldn't have been quicker. Now I want to make it clear that I had not heard of Brora before this purchase and I'm not related in any way to any of the staff there... as some bad reviews might imply. Just one satisfied customer with a happy grand-daughter in pink Cashmere hat & gloves.

Superb quality and service

I have shopped with Brora for the past 16 years. My first and much loved purchase of a cardigan is still in good condition. I am currently addicted to their cashmere Fair Isle cardigans. There is also a very nice superfine lambs’wool jumper, made in Scotland, that I have my eye on. The sales are good, the scarves and blankets make excellent presents. Highly recommended

Very poor customer care

Products may be OK if a little dull but customer care is appalling. They spent more effort trying to not help than resolve issue when item sent to wrong address. Likely that their IT system corrupted address as was auto filled. Item still not received. Very frustrating.

I love Brora

I love Brora. Their cashmere is second to none. I have ten year old cardis still in use and they wash really well. I have never had trouble with poor quality holey gloves either. My only complaint is sizing. A 16 dress is like a Boden 12/14 so I need an 18 in dresses whereas an 18 skirt is absolutely enormous and I could wear a 14. I don’t get it.

I love Brora clothes

I love Brora clothes, and when you order them, they arrive. When you send them back, you get a refund. When you call up, someone talks to you. It's all basic and yet seems hard for many to achieve.

Don’t buy from them.

I ordered several items from them. I still have not received them. One week ago they sent me an email that it was shipped. However their tracking number didn’t work. And when I finally got one that seemed to UPS said n June 4 they were still waiting for it. I keep emailing Burora. I’m going to a wedding and I’m so frustrated with them. Any good reviews must be by their friends and family. I’ll never order from them again. I just hope I get my items or get reimbursed. Nightmare.

I keep coming back to Brora

I keep coming back to Brora, not just for cashmere but other clothes too. I've recently purchased the most beautiful green suede shoes, a Liberty print silk blouse and matching jersey skirt. I'm saving up for some more cashmere, my checks in the Bath shop seem to indicate the quality is still very good and the colours available are always better than any other brand. brora is a quirky, British company and when I wear their clothes I get a lovely happy feeling Customer service is great too.

Very very sadly Brora have really gone…

Very very sadly Brora have really gone down hill. From the packaging up to the pieces they sell. The wool jumpers/cardis made in Czeck Republic, the Mohair items, and cashmeres (esp. mittens/wrist warmers)are of poor quality compared to 3 plus years in the past. I have been devoted, but now will not buy Brora anymore. I received a fairisle jumper today and it is terrible and I will return it. Two linen dresses I bought (web order) are okay, but sizing is ridiculous (16 is like a 12/14) and no longer the amazing Brora quality I once valued. Heartbreaking. I did write to customer care in December and they did not follow up nor care about my complaint. Brora is the new Kew......

My wife bought an item from Brora. They make great play in there colour brochure, and on line as to the country's where some of there goods are made. But there is no mention of the cotton item purchased by my wife,being made in CHINA She returned it. I sent an e
mail asking why was it not mentioned on the glossy brochure. No reply.

No recognition of frustration time wasted etc.
Got postage back for two pairs after numerous emails/photos sent to them

Sorry Brora

Sorry Brora.
I used to be a big fan but the last three items purchased have been really poor quality and examples of this include seams coming away at the necklines, buttons falling off, and bobbling of cashmere and bagging .
Having been a loyal fan for many years enough is enough. Quality has gone right down with all my vintage Brora being still intact and wearing well with all the recent items purchased in the past two years being unwearable..

Ordered cashmere scarf for my wife's…

Ordered cashmere scarf for my wife's birthday. I was concerned that it wouldn't arrive in time as delivery was shown as 2 - 5 days. Contacted customer services who replied very promptly. Initially they toed the 3 - 5 days line until I told them it was a birthday present at which point Jennifer pulled out the stops and the package was delivered exactly when I needed it. The scarf is beautiful quality and colour exactly as described Based on this product and together with the excellent and personalised customer service I fully recommend this high end British company

I have been recommended Brora cashmere…

I have been recommended Brora cashmere but find the website impossible to navigate. It doesn't let you view the garment without a box appearing insisting you put it into the basket! I won't use this website again, sorry!

Low quality, high price

I have had a similar experience to Jeanette.
I bought some fingerless gloves for around £40+ pounds (original price over £60). Before long the thumb bits had started to hole. Shop staff said as i had had them so.long (about 5 months at the timefor £40+) i could not really maintain the quality was not up to standard. They suggested i tried to repair them and gave me some wool.
So gloves were repaired. Then another hole appeared elsewhere so i went back to the shop. I was then asked what i had
been using the gloves for ... suggestions were made that there must be something wrong with my thumbs!!! 'You must be doing something with your thumbs to have caused this' ... Or perhaps i had been using them for driving ??? She then said that they could have sent them for repair but as i had 'repaired' them myself (their suggestion) that would not be possible. She also said no-one had ever complained before and in retrospect i wonder how she knew this as i clearly had done so myself.
So buy these highly priced poor quality products at your peril ... the last pair of fingerless gloves i bought from them lasted 5 years so the quality has deteriorated pretty significantly. I for sure wont be buying another pair or anything else from Brora.

Premium prices. Budget customer services.

I do not have an issue with the cashmere clothing from Brora, although a tad pricey, possibly price matched with Marilyn Moore.
Customer Service is appalling. I ordered 2 items that I wanted for a trip leaving 0900hrs on 29/7. Delivery is listed as 3-5 days. I checked all was ok with my order on 24/7, the 3rd day and was told that the goods "will definitely be with you tomorrow, Friday day 5 at very latest". Delivery is now not due until day 6, 29/7 by which time I will have left home. When I called Brora at 0900 today I could feel the CS Rep shrugging his shoulders, he had no interest at all. He promised a call back "from head office" to update me on what was happening, but of course this did not happen...shame on you Brora. No offer of a solution.
The total reverse of my experience with Marilyn Moore who went the extra mile to search for an item I really wanted.

Unfortunately the quality has really gone downhill over the years. Just bought another colour of the cardigan I've had for years and the new arrival pales in comparison. My old cardigan is still luxuriously soft, even after almost 10 years of extensive wear. The new one is a lot thinner, scratchy and is of similar quality to garments 3 times less expensive. What hasn't come down in the price, just way too high for this quality. Shame really, I would have liked to splurge from time to time on a high quality item. I guess I'll have to find another brand.
