HORRIBLE! What a nightmare this company is. DO NOT BUY from this site!
I made the mistake of ordering a sofa from them and the delivery company keeps putting off the delivery. When I called their customer service, I got the run-around, with no answers after a 30 minute conversation with three of their representatives. Then, out of extreme frustation, I demanded to talk with a manager and they refused to let me talk with any manager.
That means escalation is impossible, and the constant re-scheduling of the delivery of the product is never ending. That means I have stay at home each day they fail to deliver to receive the product - which never gets to be delivered.
Even worse, the delivery company (Pickupnow.com) changes the delivery times with no notice to me. No one calls, I find out that the delivery time has changed only if I call them!
It's now four days after the purchase (it was supposed to be same day delivery) and still no product and no idea of when they will deliver, if ever.
This is a company that you DO NOT want to deal with!

I'm giving this review because biglots is closing a store in my area and everyone in the store is losing a job. One person in particular has been Dedicated to the company for 28 years. And they won't move her to another store. She's out of a job.This company is a bad company to work for. They don't care about their people. Its about the $. I will never step foot in that store again and I will spread the word.
Two mistakes on one order
I ordered 10 of the same item, and all of them were the wrong type and color. I returned the items to my local store. But they processed the return incorrectly, and I had to go back to the local store a second time. The telephone customer service and the associates at the store are very nice, but the whole experience was a little frustrating.

A few months ago my husband and I purchased a sectional couch from Big Lots for over $1,500. At first everything was going smoothly until I had to change the address and then after I did so, they then notified me they could not hold it until I day I needed it held (we were moving and wanted it delivered on our moving day). A month goes by of contacting Ryder and Big Lots trying to get the address switched until FINALLY after I had to basically yell at them over the phone, they switched the delivery address and dates. So move in day comes and my sectional gets delivered. Only two guys. When I had requested enough guys to move a sectional up three flights of stairs in an apartment. These gentlemen barely spoke a word of English and were ultimately unable to even fit it through the door of my apartment by themselves. So after months of bickering with the company I decided to have them just take it back to the store and give me a refund. I’ve called Big Lots Customer Care probably 15 times before they actually refunded me, 3 weeks later. There is no useful communication with this company and it sounds like the customer care representatives are reading from a script and don’t even understand half of what you are asking. Which can be very frustrating after spending over $1,500 with the company. I was told multiple times there was no higher ups I could speak to so I was stuck going in circles with the same clueless people. I will NEVER order through big lots again and I wish I could give them 0 stars.

I Love big lots! Their clearance is awesome . I’ve found many things there! They also have some nice furniture pieces. I bought a large tent as well as three cushions for outdoor chairs. The prices were cheap - this company is honest with their discounts, as well as the guarantee they give you.
Thanks to the manager LA Mesa - her Name Mickij. helped me to purchasing some goods for my wifewas patient, helpful, and courteous. In my opinion, it is a blessing to your company, and it is the reason sometimes I buy my goods from Big Lots
Ugh THE WORST
Ugh THE WORST! Then they wonder why Walmart, Amazon and Target are taking all of their customers. I placed a simple online order to be picked up and it turned into a nightmare. I checked out with Paypal and the order got stuck in limbo and never went through even though they charged my Paypal account. I called customer service and they wanted to place the order again at a higher price. So I used their online chat and it had to be escalated and I never heard back about the order. Now I have to contact Paypal to have the charge removed

So I came to the store to buy something that was on the floor it was a floor model and I asked could I buy it and the nice man at the cashier asked the manager on the floor she said no and I was just like I didn't want to put it together jokingly she Shelby got an attitude and said just dont buy it and I went on with the nice man at the cashier because at first I didn't see one in box until after the fact so I hope next time she could have a better attitude with others cause it was nasty towards me or maybe she was having a bad day just don't take it out on the customers
This company falsely advertises unavailable items
I ordered a sectional from the website and was excited about the same day delivery. Several hours after they sent me confirmation of the order as well as the delivery time they sent me another email saying the order was canceled due to lack of inventory. My first complaint is why the heck a company would sell an item online that was no longer in stock. That is false advertisement. Secondly, when I called customer service to discuss the issue, the person who barely spoke English provided no assistance whatsoever and only was able to apologize, which did nothing for me. I finally decided to look at individual stores to find a comparable item and was pleasantly surprised that 1 existed only to find out that its going to take 5 to 7 business days to refund me my money so I can't even go to the store and buy the item that I found to replace the one that was not available online. Your store sucks and it needs to be shut down. And I will never ever give you a penny of my money again. You completely ruined my plans.

I drove one-hour to the closets Big Lots store. I was going to buy my daughter furniture for her new house. When we got to the store, we had walked through looking at every set available in the store. She had finally decided on the set she wanted, and we went to Department desk. The employer was very nice and informed us that there was an online discount for furniture. He stated that we could order online and save 20%. He also asked if they were a Big Lots rewards member. They had stated know and he said if you go online and apply you would receive an instant 15% promo code as well. We asked if we could use that coupon with the online 20% off. He said that we could, one was a coupon, and one was a sale. So, we drove back home which like I said was a hour drive. While in the car my daughter had applied and sure enough they got a coupon for 15% off a welcome coupon. when we arrived home, we sat down and added the three items they wanted to the cart. All items stated available for pick up in the store we were just at. So, we said that's ok the drive won't be so bad since we are saving so much money on the transaction. Now with that being said I usually don't use coupons and I never order online but my daughter does! I would have rather just paid full price and then left with the items, but my daughter insisted I don't waste money that I didn't have to. She said I am willing to wait since your doing something nice for me. So go back to adding the items to the cart. They were added all said available for pick up. I then gave her my Big Lots credit card and she entered all of my info in and proceeded to check out. An error came up and stated that there was a problem with the card. I then called the Store Credit card number, and they said I had enough credit to make purchase and my balance was $0. They told me to try again, and the same thing happened. I then said I will just use my Visa card! That credit card line of credit was $10000.00 with nothing owed on it. So, I tried again, and it still said error there was an error processing your payment please reach out to financial company. So, after that I was very upset! This is the first review I have ever made publicly about any company! I work for a company, and I know that everyone has a bad experience and sometimes things happen! But after speaking to the Big lots Customer care I have decided that what they are doing is illegal and I will see to it that this stops. I know that Covid has had major effects on companies, but false advertisement and misrepresentation are illegal. When I called My Big Lots Credit Card company today they told me that my transaction was in fact pending. They then advised me to call Big Lots Customer care and ask when my order would be ready for pick up. So that's exactly what I did. I called and they told me that was my credit card had insufficient funds. I replied back that's a lie I had just got off the phone with the Big lots credit card company and they stated that the transaction was pending. The lady on the phone said well I'm sorry but that's not what it shows on our end. I then replied well then why didn't the other card go thought? She stated well there was insufficient funds on that card as well, I almost died laughing. I said well your wrong and I even went as far as offering to send in the income availability form to them directly and that they could look up the other. Her response was even better this time!! She stated well actually the furniture was just not available. I stated well why did you say it was due to insufficient funds. She said Well that's what it shows first then it also shows that the furniture wasn't available. I said OK well I just left the store an
hour ago, and they stated that they had 3 sets in stock! I wasn't getting it delivered and I was picking up, so I know for a fact it was in stock because the store was closing in 5 minutes, and they had three sets in stock when I walked out. So, you're telling me they sold three sets in 5 minutes???? She then started stumbling over her words and I said ok enough is enough I would like to speak to your manager! I do not appreciate lies and deceit from anyone especially a company who relies on Customer Service! I sat on hold forever after requesting to speak to a manger and she kept coming back and placing me on hold stating that someone will just have to call you back because there is just no manager available to speak to you right now. I will be contacting the BBB and the Attorney Gerneral's office. Let's just say still no call back and my daughter still has no furniture, this mother is not going to let this go! Not this time not after all of that crazinesssssss.

I LOVE big lots! Their clearance is awesome but you have to catch it on a good day. I’ve found many things there! They also have some nice furniture pieces.

Ordered a patio set and it was in stock at our local Big Lots store 8 miles away but I had no way to pick it up. They advertised SAME DAY DELIVERY- $99 so I paid for this as it seemed like a good deal. This was at 9 AM and there was no cut-off time listed; said a 3rd party would deliver it. After processing, it said my set would be delivered the NEXT DAY, which it was. However, when I talked to customer service about a refund for a SAME DAY DELIVERY that didn’t happen, they said the $99 was just the basic delivery fee and not for a time frame. This is NOT what is reflected on their website or my order. I would have opted for standard shipping which would have been free because the items were over $79 as stated in their ad if I’d known they wouldn’t be delivered SAME DAY. Spent 20 minutes on the phone ( mostly on hold) with customer service rep who didn’t seem to understand what I was explaining. Then daily emails where they continue to brush me off. The topper was when I wrote and asked for the corporate address of their CEO and they won’t give it to me- keep insisting that the $99 I was charged wasn’t for SAME DAY DELIVERY. I even sent them copies of my order so they could see for themselves. Customer service is horrible and I consider this false advertising. Never doing business with Big Lots again.

I've never visited this website but they will not stop emailing me. I started receiving dozens of spam emails from this awful website a month ago. I have blocked their email countless times, hit unsubscribe, nothing has worked. I've been emailing their IT department for weeks asking them why the hell I am receiving their emails when I literally never asked for them and they just keep telling me they will get back to me.
Hidden trash in container
Should have left this review sooner. I bought a canopy from them and it was trash. Someone had purchased it before me and returned it. The problem was they removed the new one from it's cover and placed an old broken one back in it. No one checked it and resold it to me. When I finally opened it to use it, that is when I discovered the problem. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to return it because it was past the return date. They got my money for free. Always open the product in front of the staff before you leave the store. Don't get scammed like I did.

I made the mistake of buying furniture from biglots because they ASSURED me that it was sturdy and very competitive against brand name.Bought a $900 L -shaped sectional.flat lounge area caved in in less than six months. So they replaced ONLY that part. 4 months later it happened again, but was told that particular couch was discontinued, but they could give me a discount on a new couch. So I paid $1,200 for next couch, along with dining table and chairs(another $1,200 because I got six chairs) same thing happened again. So I turned the couch up and cut the bottoms out to see what was going on. There is only one 1x2 piece of wood with knot in the grain directly in the place that had broke in the middle (weekest part) other part of couch sags bad! Found that cheap wire holding cushions together broke in three different places. $1,200 for press wood and broken down furniture? To make matters worse. Big lots won’t even call me back. Folks take your business elsewhere. I’ll leave pics. Wait , they won’t give me an option to.

Their website states they will deliver from 1-5pm. I got an email stating it will be 1-4pm. I got a text stating it will be 2-6pm, following that I got another text stating it will be from 2-8pm. I called their customer service and they gave me another number to call. The person on that 2nd number stated they work 2-6pm, They do not work 1pm. All these messages came on the same exact day.
I work two jobs. I might not be here to open the door if they come outside of the negotiated time frame.
The website is literally lying and being deceptive. They do not operate at 1pm and shipment can arrive as late as 8pm, according to their own messages.
If I knew I would be forced to participate in this drama, I would have gladly gone to another company.
