i went on line to order 5 piece patio furniture form my "set" store , i also discover it could be delivered -so checked that.. done .. a bit later got notice item confirmed and shipping ready . a bit later notice of item in route, shortly my security camera tells me some arrived . guy shows on m large box clearly mark #1 of 2 .. i ask where other box was - he said "they" only loaded one == so it starts = no where did "they" indicate only part order or rest of order to be set later or anything like that .. i call number on receipt it is from totally different store which they did not have complete order so just sent half !!! i told i wanted money back and i would send box back with driver -- they said i had to come to store -- not my store - for refund !! i told them no way -- i called my store guess what they had all of the unit -- why was it not picked up and delivered from there -- end of story i drive to my store at 8'30 at night to get other parts -- i will not be back to "sorry lots"
Excellent customer relations and sevice!
When I ordered furniture from Big Lots, they had a representative! Kristy, keep me informed personally by phone, when it was being built, processed, and shipped. She even made sure it got delivered when it was supposed to and made sure we were happy with it once we got it unpacked and situated. The customer relation and everything about my purchase was handled with care and excellence.

Port Orange Location Salesman Kyle
Today we met a salesperson by the name of Kyle in the port orange location. This young man went above and beyond the call of duty, checking inventory, running back and forth and getting all the products we needed. His customer and social service skills were excellent… second to none and he made our experience not only pleasurable and fulfilling but reminded us of how it use to be when people actually liked their job and enjoyed working with people. We highly commend him and are absolutely coming back. Thank you Kyle.

Higher priced than major grocery and department stores
Many products are priced 10s of percentage points higher than other places. Don't assume you are in a discount store. All should know this already, but the furniture is of extremely poor design, quality and construction.
Big Lots store 5302 gets the lowest…
Big Lots store 5302 gets the lowest rating because of disrespect towards elderly. Spanish lady cut in front of me pretending to need a price check, but she followed me around the store. She was an employee but they said she was not. She had reddish or auburn hair. Cashier allowed this person to cut in front of me and said nothing.
Checkout Nightmare
Went to the Big Lots store in Moline IL.. Nice store, but be prepared to wait +15 minutes to check out. I had 5 people ahead of me with full shopping carts and one extremely slow cashier. After waiting 10 minutes and no movement in the line, I just pushed my cart aside and left. I'm sure it took them twice as long to put all my merchandise back as it would have taken to check me out. That's the second time I couldn't checkout. God forbid they ever use a second or third cashier.

I placed an order with the local Big Lots in Centralia, IL online, out of pity for them, for pickup last night. They immediately charged my debit card $118.24, then sent me an email stating they had received my order but it was missing seven of the items in my original order, then they sent the pickup email, still missing the items, but trying to charge me the same price. I then called the store manager Matt and told him and he made excuses and said there was nothing he could do that all of that was done at corporate and that they just send them a sheet of the items to pull. I told him I was not paying for seven items I did not receive and he said all he could do is cancel the order so I had him do so. Then I told him they already took the money from my account and I asked if they would immediately refund it and he said it would be in my account this morning as it was only pending and would fall off overnight. LIARS!! It is still on there so I contacted their corporate office and they made the same excuse and said it can take up to five days to reverse and put the money back on my card. Why would they need to put the money back on my card if they had not TAKEN and CHARGED me for the order, they never gave me to begin with!! That is THEFT AND FRAUD!!! I then filed complaints online with the FTC, CFPB, IL Attorney General and I will be contacting the DOJ and my lawyer next if they do not put my money in the account immediately!! I know exactly what they are doing, they are first trying to rip people off who do not keep track of the items they purchase, and then when that does not work, they are then keeping their money for up to a week to use it as an interest-free loan at the consumer's expense, to fund their business practices, place orders, or invest. I have two business degrees and have worked in law, the county, state, and federal government, and commercial and investment banking. They are not fooling me. These CROOKS and CLOWNS are getting ready to go under and they will take advantage of ANYONE that buys from them!! No company should be allowed to be prepaid and put a hold on your bank account funds, some gas stations are even putting a $100 hold on a $20 purchase, instantly, yet they then hold onto it for a week or more claiming "It just takes that long to process the reversal" that is BS!!! I also went to school to be a systems analyst and they are LYING!!! Funny JC Pennys tried the same until I told them I had reported them to the FTC and my lawyer then it was in my account, before the next day!! I know they can reverse it immediately but why should they the public is stupid and allowing all of them to use their money as a free loan daily all over this country, millions are having this done to them, this is THEFT and FRAUD, it is no different than floating checks which is also illegal or us walking into their store and stealing a bunch of groceries and paying them a week later for them!!!! ALL need to report all of these instances to the FTC, CFPB, and your local AG and complain about all businesses and banks using our money and us this way, we cannot even survive as it is now, they are trying to use us as a bank to get free loans!!!!! Tell everyone you know to do the same until it is stopped nationwide and they are SUED, FINED, and SHUT DOWN!

My huge two L Broyhill couch was delivered by a barely english speaking person on a Pick Up truck. It obviously came damaged. He also cut the plastic & Big Lots is saying returns only in original packaging. It is absolutely literally impossible to see damages in the plastic & cardboard packaging. On top of that there are many legs to attatch to couch, some a little bigger than others & who knows where to put them all. I did get instructions on how to stick the felt stickers to the legs though. LOL. I also checked this Broyhill couch for predrilled holes on all 12 corners where they should be & there are NONE! Tried attatching leg with a screwdriver that does fit & barely got it in. So now I need to get a drill just to attatch the legs to this just delivered already damaged couch I do not even want anymore. I will never be buying anything again from Big Lots nor will I ever purchase any Broyhill furniture again!!!

I wish I could put 0 stars. They have the worst customer service in the world and I thought Comcast was bad. First of all you can’t understand anyone who answers the phone, all have middle eastern accents thinking they can speak English well, NO! They were no help at all, kept telling me to call the other number and then the others say call the other number. I am so disappointed in Big Lots and will be contacting BBB and Consumer Affairs but they probably don’t care.
Purchased a Halloween inflatable
Purchased a Halloween inflatable. It worked the day I got it, worked for two days and would not turn on any more. Called big lots and was told it is past the 30 day return window and they will not refund my purchase. I purchased it on August 19th and it stopped working today. So I was supposed to know by September 18 (well before the time I would decorate for Halloween) that this product was a piece of garbage and would only last two days. Never shopping at Big Lots again. I shop there quite often. DONE!!
Failed to provide ordered items, holding total payment for partial order in limbo, refusing to process any sort of refund
I am so incredibly angry right now. I purchased 2 candles from Big Lots on Saturday, September 16th, 2023. Got an alert that one of the candles was out of stock. STILL ON SATURDAY, less than 2 hours after I get the out of stock notification and 3 hours after I initially placed the order I request cancellation. Why? Because it was a Buy One Get One Free event. Of course I'm not happy that the candle I actually wanted was out of stock and that I was only receiving one that I had only purchased because of the
BOGO sale.
The order wasn't supposed to arrive until September
27th.
I get told to just wait. Up to 2 business days. It's been
escalated. Literally jerked around with 3 calls and multiple emails and 1 live chat. Just wait. It's escalated.
BIG LOTS DECIDED TO RUSH THE ORDER THROUGH. IT ARRIVED SEPTEMBER 19TH, WITHOUT ME HAVING ANY ABILITY TO REJECT THE SHIPMENT BECAUSE THEY DON'T USE THEIR NAME ON THE PACKAGE OR SHIPPING INFORMATION. THERE WAS NOTHING TO INDICATE THAT IT WAS THE PACKAGE I NEEDED TO REJECT ARRIVING OVER A WEEK EARLY.
So now I have a single candle that I've paid DOUBLE THE COST OF THE CANDLE IN SHIPPING sitting in an unopened large box (large enough that it would easily have shipped both, so that's a thing too). If I go to return the candle as originally advised I'm out the shipping ($10) thanks to
the terrible customer service and obvious rush on the shipping for the candle.
Oh, but wait, supposedly I won't be paying shipping and
the total will update. First I was told that it would be within a few days, then within 10 business days. Except it has been 10 business days since delivery (and 14 days since purchase) and it still hasn't and I'm still out the full price for both candles and shipping.
Supposedly I'll have an "expert" contact me within, gasp, another 1-2 business days. It's $18. I'd happily bring the unopened package back to the store and never deal with this business again given the option of a full refund + shipping. Either way, Big Lots has permanently lost me
as a customer

Ordered my new mattress on 9-4-2023. Everything went smoothly. Kept in contact with me about delivery day and times. The biggest complaint I have is the guys that delivered it. Called before they came like they were supposed to. Showed up. One huge black guy gets out and another smaller black guy. The bigger one has the smaller guy carry the mattress by himself on his back dragging it behind him! I open the door with no introduction from either of them,just “where do you want this”? I show them and they shove the old mattress off and put the new one on. “Are we taking the old one or not?” Yes. Pick it up and out the door they go,leaving plastic wrap on the floor for me to dispose of! You need to teach your delivery guys people skills! Very rude! But on the plus side I do love my new mattress!
