Nothing held back? Yeah, okay... False advertising!

When you put "nothing held back" and "all items up to 60% off" then have 1/3 of your store with signs saying "everyday low prices" instead of discounted signs, THAT IS FALSE ADVERTISING! You should let people know that none of your food, drinks, et al. are on sale; and that holiday food items and baking goods do not count as 60%off holiday items, even though most are expired anyway. I am not surprised stores are closing. From computers at checkout refusing to take the BIG LOTS credit card at times to not honoring coupons in people's rewards accounts, your closing has been a long time coming. Should have done better, rather than consistently raising prices on the same, low to mid-level quality items.

Biglots selling expired food

I purchased a roll of Bigford garlic summer sausage. It was for my son. He opened it and tasted it. Said it was mushy. We looked at the back of it to see it had expired. I contacted Biglots to tell them and ask if I could get a refund. I was told sorry no refunds. I have contacted the CEO of Biglots and am reporting it to the local authorities. I also contacted Bigfords as well. I can see why the store is going out of business.

I went to there store in Port Charlotte, the store has no real deals 10% to 25%. The charts they have on all of these are wrong. It says 14 dollars its 80 cents
Not true all the signs are bull shit. Never going back, now I know why they are going out of business.

SCAM & FRAUDULENT- DO NOT BUY

It's All bad news & a complete SCAM - DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. Ordered 20th December, package never arrived despite tracking saying it was delivered on 12th January. ALL EMAIL ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT (TO MULTIPLE EMAIL ADDRESSES) HAVE BOUNCED BACK. FRAUDULENT COMPANY.

Wow Big Lots i am so dissatisfied with your customer service. I ordered a makeup vanity the beginning of December 2024. I received a confirmation email stating my order would arrive by the end of December. I never received an email that I would not receive my item, I kept waiting for a del8very date so I called only to find out my order was canceled by Big Lots because it was out of stock. Why would i get a confirmation of my purchase and a delivery date if it was out of stock and no email informing me. I did find the same item on Wayfair tho. I have purchased 4 to 5 pieces of furniture in the past 4 years from big lots but the past year purchases online and in store have not been the best. I will definitely be closing my account

I bought what was supposed to be a…

I bought what was supposed to be a brand new dirt devil vacuum and when I got it home it was heavily used and broken someone had switched they are old and broken one for the new one in the box. And Big lots because they're going out of business refuse to at least let me exchange it for one that is new and works I wasn't asking for money back I just wanted a product that worked correctly since it was their mistake they put it back on the floor and didn't even check it. Hell for all I know it could have been one of the employees that brought it from home and switched it out I wouldn't doubt it. Now I'm out 50 bucks Big lots is not what it used to be good thing they're going out of business.

Money grabbing

Orderd some items with them for a Christmas present Cost £25 including shipping in November.
Had to report it to the bank for a refund.item said pending/ shipped then back to pending .
Would say it's a scam site as they don't reply to emails

I went to Big lots store in fort Smith last Saturday purchased over $40 worth of merchandise there was a shopping cart at the front of the store full of Halloween stuff cake mix and sprinkles that was 90% off when I got home I was charged 299 for a tub of sprinkles $2.99 when I was supposed to be charged 30 cents I called back and told them about it they said they were nothing they could do I asked for refund asked for store credit they said they was nothing they could do first it was a smart-ass tomorrow maybe it was $12 I've called the company phone I called customer care to no avail I get hung up on or saying no one's there this is a bunch of b******* watch out when you go there because you will get ripped off I did and their store has some good stuff maybe like I said I bought $40 worth of stuff but they shouldn't rip people off I am not happy total b******* basically false advertising fraud and thievery

They are closing stores one by one..

I bought ottoman from big lot and after couple of days I went back and the store out the board that store is closing. I talked to manager and manager told me they they were in process of closing store and they could not return my stuff. She recommended to go to other stores. But other stores did not return that. I talked to customer service and email them but they did not return the item. So beware.. you never know which store is closing. Don’t buy anything form any of the big lot if you think you would have to return or exchange..

I ordered Christmas presents online…

I ordered Christmas presents online during their black Friday sale and 4 of my items were cancelled without any notification. I logged on today to find out when my items would be delivered and saw they had been cancelled. This was my first online order and I'm a Big Lots card holder. Customer service did nothing and I have spent thousands with this company.

Horrible Online Shopping Experience...Avoid Big Lots

On Black Friday, I found some amazing deals on holiday lights online and purchased about $90 worth as I just moved into a new place.
Initially, the order was delayed for a week. I received two small strings of lights which required 3 AA batteries each. This was not indicated in their online advertisement and I will be returning or throwing them out.
A few days later, I receive an email stating that my entire order is canceled. I was expecting 11 strings of lights and will end up with zero.
I have been a loyal Big Lots customer for over 2 decades. I will NEVER shop there again. Absolutely horrible work Big Lots.

Poor customer service

Now I understand why this chain is going out of business nationally. Today I tried to exchange some Christmas lights. I bought because I accidentally got cool white when I needed warm white. It was the exact same item just a difference in color, but they would have charged me full price instead of the sale price. Ridiculous I will never go back to the store again. it was just a couple of dollar difference and a good manager would’ve understood that it’s better to honor an original price and keep a customer and then to alienate a customer forever

WORST BUSINESS EVER

ordered a couch for same day delivery between 1pm-5pm. product never showed up so Big Lots sent the couch through DoorDash! couch shows up in a large box that we have to build. start building it and it’s missing an important piece (the back rest) so we contacted support and they are the least helpful, it’s been over 3 weeks and we’re getting the run around. they won’t refund us because it needs to be returned back to the store before getting a refund. had to speak with so many different agents because they kept disconnecting us and the store employees hung up on us. they are supposedly sending another Doordash to pick up the couch and return it to the store (but the couch is put together besides the missing piece and won’t fit in a car). no exceptions for refunding us even though they’ve strung us along for weeks with no resolution. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!

Worst customer service ever
I leased a bedroom set on October 15, 2024. Paid a delivery company to pick up the bedroom set from big lots and remove my old one. Receive the bedroom set but could not put the new set together because they gave me the wrong headboard. I call the store to notify them of the error thinking they would quickly rectify it since they brought the furniture to the delivery truck. I was immediately referred to the furniture manager Mr. Christ that said they could not help me call customer care or progressive leasing. I was not happy about this, but I contacted customer care and progressive leasing only to be give the run around that someone would call me. A week and half later I came to the store to see what could be done. I encounter Chris and asked him about the process only to be told what customer care told you. I said they said they would call me back it has been too long. I asked if we could call together. He told be NO if they said wait then wait. Well, this was unacceptable because my bed is on the floor which is not good for my back. I ask him if there was a manger that I could speak with in the store he said no. These was a manager there but her refused to tell me. Luckly another store heard the discussion. Chris ha told me big lots was closing, didn't care about the money I was spending, an even said that i could afford to but the set right out i had to lease it. He told me that had more money in his account than me that why people like me had to lease because we can't afford to pay upfront. He taunted me to show him my account because he had more money in which I did not. I have called the company every day since this distributing event and still have not been able to speak with the manager Larry or come up with a plan to have the right piece delivered to me since the store was at fault. Please save yourself from this frustration and stress RUN, RUN far away from Big Lots. They don't deserve your hard-earned money.

makes it hard to even make a payment

big lots need to move forward into today's reality. I got a store card and bought a sofa. I have a debit card. I couldn't pay my bill by phone or web site as they stopped taking cards... both debit and credit. Then they stopped taking payments at the store! So what now?? I will pay them and I will never buy from them again

I went in to the Big Lots on Colfax in…

I went in to the Big Lots on Colfax in Wheat Ridge yesterday and had the worst retail experience of my life I asked a question and the clerk was less than helpful even tho I was showing the question I had right to her (on the receipt thingie) After the clerk and her "buddy" standing next to her got a little snippy with me saying they were stressed I told them why I was stressed. My son had been killed earlier in the week. It went from bad to worse and I asked for the manager. I did get upset and was crying and raising my voice. Tho the manager did say I'm sorry for your loss (with a blank stare on her face) she continued to say "You can't be mean to my staff" to anything I said. There was NO effort to calm me down and ever thing she said was with a flat expression. Being half hysterical I did said F You to one of the young male clerks who was actually escalating the situation with his belligerent - yes his belligerent behavior. He flipped his thumb at me and said "Back atcha" - I realize I should not have said that. But that is no way for a "customer service type" person to treat a grieving mother or anyone. I did ask why can't they couldn't let me calm down so I could buy my stuff and she told me to "go outside then". In my life I have never gotten crazy upset with retail people. I don't understand how they could have handled it so badly - there was no kindness or compassion. And of course that's all I would have needed to calm down

On the other hand I had one of the best retail experiences I had when I called to make a complaint. A young man named Clelland was kind, empathetic and showed true compassion - as I said that is all I needed from the store staff. And I told them that albeit with my voice raised and tears pouring down my face. Thank you for listening.
