Therapist matching is more important…

Therapist matching is more important than one would think when starting therapy. Being able to switch therapists when needed and the platform in general just bring user friendly and very few connectivity issues (usually on my end the few times they have happened). I cannot recommend therapy enough and BetterHelp is a fantastic place to start your mental health journey.

Wasnt sure what was next after 2 family deaths close together

After the death of my brother and then my father just 6 weeks later, I knew I was going to need some help processing all that I had gone through. I was not in my home city and needed an online connection. WIth BetterHelp, I was matched with a therapist . We are still working together and i am very pleased with the support I am getting. I also have the option to participate in group sharing as well. Both have been extreemly helpful as I integrate this new season of life. I highly reccommend them if you are looking for some support.

Better help is the better choice.

I first tried better help as a more affordable alternative to perhaps get some help.
But in reality is is a much better way to get help. It is about 1/4 the cost of my prior counseling. Doesn't require travel time . So it takes very little out of your day.My councelor answers emails in between sessions and there is also group sessions and lectures you can attend if you wish!

The flexibility in scheduling

The flexibility in scheduling, the matching of therapist, and most importantly the cost. BetterHelp has given me hope when I thought my world was coming to an end. The financial aspect of therapy can be and is a deterrent for many people. I’m so thankful that I came across BetterHelp!

Une belle anarque

J'avais pris rendez-vous pour ce matin 11h45 en rendez-vous téléphonique avec une thérapeute désignée comme prévu 11h35 je me connecte sur le site comme indiqué puis j'envoie un message à la thérapeute en lui disant que je suis prête à commencer la séance, les minutes passent aucune nouvelle je renvoie donc un message en lui demandant ce que je dois faire , aucune réponse je lui dis ensuite que je suis en train de paniquer ce qui était le cas aucune réponse j'ai harcelé de message pour demander ce que je devais faire et si elle pouvait au moins me répondre aucune réponse j'ai attendu comme ça pendant 40 minutes sans rien, ni message ni appel rien du tout voilà comment bien se faire anarquer 50 € , merci à betterhelp de m'avoir fait perdu mon temps et mon argent je vais déjà assez mal comme ça.

Monthly charges, not a single therapy sesdion

Signed up at a very low moment. Told I would hear from a therapist within 48 hours. Never heard back and just discovered they’ve been charging me £205.40 a month for 8 months since - without a single therapy session taking place. Very concerning and feels like they are taking advantage of people who are in a vulnerable position.

Better Help has been life changing for…

Better Help has been life changing for me. My therapist is very in tune to my needs and scheduling time to meet virtually is so convenient. I see my therapist on the weekends so I don’t have to miss work.
What I like about Better Help is I was able to change my therapist easily when I realized my first therapist wasn’t a good match for me.
I was able to read through therapist bios and found a therapist who matched my personality.
I have recommended Better Help to many friends and they have liked it too.

I was stood up by my therapist two days…

I was stood up by my therapist two days ago and still have not gotten a response from Better Help or the therapist. I’ve left messages and even called their phone support.
Edit since reply: it has been over a week I’ve called I have emailed I even sent a message on messenger.

Edit: I have checked there is nothing. Nothing in spam either. I also left my phone number and tried to reach out via Facebook messenger. There has been no attempt to contact me. I am happy to provide a screenshot of my email search.

Avoid slashing your wrists. Avoid Betterhelp.

Truly disgusting people. I've always been sceptical of Betterhelp because of their marketing strategies; they'll rope any influencer into spreading their bullshit.

I'm also generally sceptical of 1-star reviews, because they're usually from people who've not been fair at all. But I'd pay attention to anyone giving 1 star for Betterhelp.

Firstly, they don't even let you choose your own therapist. Plus, you have to pay cash upfront before you even know who you'll be talking with.

But that's not the worst thing. Shortly after I abandoned the site, I received a very pushy email which made it sound very urgent I hand over my credit card details before my therapist's caseload fills up. I'm not buying a TV, I'm trying to sort my head out. Why are you people so pushy?

Bottom line: Better Help is clearly not interested in offering better help. Their primary motivation is to usher people in vulnerable positions to hand over their cash as quickly as possible Watch yourself - this company clearly has NO moral compass.

The customer support agents are not very helpful

I've been having a problem where I keep getting matched with therapists that don't fit my preferences, and I wanted to use the feature to choose a therapist from a list, which should be possible as this is an advertised feature of Betterhelp. Unfortunately I cannot find this feature and I've tried different browsers. What most frustrates me is that I cannot get a coherent answer from the support agent. I get the same generic response over and over again as if i'm talking to an AI bot.

I Believe in You

I Believe in You
“I believe in you because you believe in you—otherwise, you wouldn’t be here.” My therapist says this at the end of every session, and it means more to me than she may realize. Her belief in me, combined with her guidance, has helped me re-educate myself to accept where I am in 'real time', without judgment. She has created a space where I feel heard, validated, and supported in my growth.

She is truly amazing, and I hope others are able to experience the same level of care and success that she has helped me achieve. Without the flexibility and accessibility that BetterHelp provides, I would not have had the opportunity to receive this kind of support. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking non-traditional options and a safe space to grow.

It has everything

The platform is very well laid out to support you in many ways. I have my own therapist that I can not only have a live video chat with, but can also have my sessions on a phone call or text messaging. I can also send messages to my therapist at any time between sessions if needed. There is also a section to complete a daily journal, join group sessions, and set goals to work towards. I feel as though this platform is very well rounded in ways to support you through your journey.

Misunderstood and unheard

I had my first appointment on Monday, 2/23/26. My therapist was dismissive and actually never really understood how sad and disappointed I've been as a solo caregiver for my hubby since my children have moved out. She started the call asking me for some background... then couldn't get past it without being critical of everyone in my family. I have had very successful therapy in the past for specific items. I thought this would be the same. My one tip to someone else would be: outline what is bringing you to counseling and have it in front of you so you can stay on topic in case your therapist gets distracted by the details of the background he/she asked for.

Clueless 'therapists'; absolute money grab

I am only just now, after being to a genuine psychologist, able to put into words how horrible my experience with better help was.
I was going through an awful time and wasn't able to get into see my usual psychologist and tried to use what I thought could be a useful tool in the interim.
What this app turned out to be was a complete waste of time and money- this app preys on vulnerable people. I was paired with someone who had no idea what they were talking about- THREE times. Each one worse than the last. The whole time I used the app I messaged someone twice to organise a time, and actually spoke to each different person once- all of whom sounded like they were about 16 years old and were really nervous.

You can't email to cancel

They will keep charging if you are not using it. I never spoke with someone. Don't try canceling via email that does not work. # weeks of 80.00 for nothing is what they got!!!!!!!!!"Hi there,
