Defective Item Problem
A Thermostatic Bath tap and shower was ordered on 28/07 and delivered on 29/07. Unfortunately, the shower tube was dented. After calling immediately after delivery, on 29/07, and requesting replacement I was sent an email requesting a number of images which I supplied within 15 minutes. I received an email requesting that I send no further emails. As of today, 4/08, I have received no response. (See edit)
I have not previously encountered a company that makes it this difficult to return a defective item.
Two stars for the initial quick delivery.

I have removed the second star; still no response after eleven days. I have left a message on the contact number as instructed. No call back. This feels like a deliberate strategy to make the return process difficult. In any case, there is no need to require all the photos of undamaged boxes I supplied as they are totally aware of the package contents. Their initial response email stated that any further emails would result in my case going to the back of the queue. They state that their aim is to deal with such issues in two working days.
I will again edit this as I attempt to escalate.
EDIT:
As the response below indicates, I have now received the replacement item which was received on 11/08, 13 days after a replacement was requested. The replacement was initiated after I phoned B House; this time the call was answered and I spoke to a customer service agent (who was very professional and apologetic).
While I accept that there has been no intention to make this process difficult, the fact is that it has been. The system makes the customer feel unvalued and uninformed - including that email that, in effect, states that sending further emails will be penalised by sending the user to the back of the queue. I have great sympathy with the professional customer service staff who have to deal with dissatisfied clients.
Of course, if there had been no damaged item this would have been a five star review. Let's add another star as the matter is resolved.

When damage is reported, we do require photographs of the item and its packaging. This is a standard part of our damage-claims procedure and allows us to establish the condition of both the product and packaging and, where appropriate, raise a claim with the courier. The photographs requested were therefore relevant to your damage report and were not intended to make the process difficult.
We would also like to clarify the automated message asking customers not to send chaser emails. This is not a request for customers not to contact us. Our customer-service enquiries are managed through a ticketing system, and each new reply to an existing ticket can move that ticket back in the queue. The message is intended to prevent customers inadvertently delaying their own enquiry and to allow us to deal with cases as efficiently and quickly as possible.
Most importantly, a replacement was arranged for the damaged part and has since been successfully delivered to you via DPD.
We appreciate that you were frustrated by the time taken to receive an update, and we apologise that communication during the process did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to reassure you that there was never any intention to make the replacement process difficult or prevent you from resolving the issue. Once the required information had been assessed, a replacement was provided and delivered to you.

Hudson Reed Basin and taps
Products as described on website and appear to be robust and well made. Delivered in 3 days over a weekend. The basin is quite heavy but no fixings or recommendations are provided with the product by the manufacturer.

You are quite right that the basin is a substantial weight. Hudson Reed have advise that the Chrome Basin Fixing Bolts (Pair) – product code ACC020 – can be considered for installation. However, the final choice of fixings will depend on the wall type and installation method being used, so a qualified fitter may recommend alternative or additional fixings where necessary.
We appreciate you highlighting this, as it may be helpful information for future customers planning their installation.
They took payment but didn't have the…
They took payment but didn't have the product. They didn't inform me so I contacted them after 5 days. They said they would ring me back after 15 mins, they didn't. I rang them again after 3 hours and was told they didn't have the stock and the product was was not now available. They offered me a dearer product at the same price but the colour was wrong. I wanted a tumbled edge but the proffered a straigh edge. so I want my money back.

I purchased a concealed shower valve only to realise how rubbish quality it was when it arrived. I only had to open the 1st box containing the rain shower head which had gritty unsmooth edges. Definitely not for me.
Once a return request was sent had no reply even though they say they reply in 2 days.
Took issue with PayPal. BATHROOM House partial refunded me. Deducted £70. They have made a video recording of unboxing the return box. All i can say its the most pathetic thing I seen.
They have made out that the shower rail is damaged. In the video you can see the unboxer is strugging with the shower rail and its off the cameras view. This doesn't prove anything.
If you think this nonsense cant go any lower then your wrong. They say i tried to fit the shower rail. Bear in mind this is a concealed shower so 1st the valve would need fitting. Then the moisture borads would go on. Then the wall would be tiled. See my point. So i tried to fit the rail without even fitting the valve. OK. I think the stupidity speaks for itself.
Do yourself a favour and avoid. Many other reviews say the same thing. Obviously a recurring theme here.
Good companies dont have to write an essay when replying.
Thankyou to PayPal for refunding me the full amount. They saw sense.
