Nikki and her team helped me to redefine my ideas of what quality, professional and yet, somehow compassionate, property management can look like.
My situation felt unique; I'd worried endless that my needs couldn't be met, and yet they were - not just on paper, but also, by helping me navigate and educating me through the process along the way, I feel that Nikki truly went the extra mile to connect, to understand and to want to help.
This was not what I'd come to expect, especially in a rentals market such as Aotearoa New Zealand is in the grips of right now; there are no shortage of individuals and families like mine in need of a helping hand, and yet so few good people prepared to extend theirs as Nikki did for me and mine.
She ticked all the boxes, including one or two that I had felt she may not have ever encountered before - and she did so with such calm, empathetic professionalism that I never thought twice about reaching out no matter how outside-of-the-box my needs felt.
I cannot envisage that I will ever encounter service like Nikki's again in this high-demand sector; certainly, I would be hard-pressed to even consider working with anyone else, from any other agency.
My heartfelt thanks go to Nikki and her team - they left nothing uncovered and I genuinely struggle to think of anything that I can suggest they might look to improve.

Disappointing Experience and Poor Outcomes. Lack of experience.
Unfortunately, my experience with Sunny Anand and Sanjay Kumar from Barfoot & Thompson was disappointing.
Despite being engaged for approximately four months, the property did not sell, and progress was minimal.
Communication lacked consistency, and there was limited proactive strategy or clear direction provided throughout the campaign. Expectations were not managed effectively, and follow up was slower than anticipated for a time sensitive sale.
After changing agents, the property was successfully progressed within two weeks, which highlighted the lack of urgency and execution during this engagement.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this agency for clients seeking decisive action, strong communication, and timely results.

Hi everyone, I want to share my recent experience with Barfoot & Thompson.
I have been living in New Zealand for the past 12 years, and unfortunately this has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a property management company.
We were renting a house in Henderson (Summerland Drive) on a 1-year contract. After only two months, Barfoot & Thompson emailed us saying the owner wanted to renovate and sell the house. We agreed to end the tenancy early.
When we moved out, we hired professional cleaners and left the house in very good condition. We emailed the property manager several times asking them to come and collect the keys, but we were ignored. Sometimes they said, “Don’t worry, we’ll take the keys later,” and other times they said they already had another key. It felt like we were being given excuses for no reason.
We have the cleaning receipt and photos of the house showing everything was clean and undamaged.
Now, after 2.5 months, they have sent us charges and are only offering to return $1,000 out of our $4,000 bond. We don’t understand why this is happening.
Just sharing this experience to make others aware, and to ask for any advice from people who have dealt with similar situations.

We had a wonderful property manager Christine Burnie who solved all our problems and was so efficient and friendly. She had so much experience, and was a pleasure to deal with. The staff in Te Atatu have also always been kind and helpful, and gave an excellent service.

Absolute nightmare experience !!! The way the agents handled the selling of our home was shameful. This was our first experience selling home and due to what happened to us will not recommend your agents AMRIT SINGH KAHLON and ANUSHREE to anyone.
They only work for their sale and wont care about you as a seller and once they have what they want not a single call to check up about our experience. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST !!!

Barfoot and Thompson Titirangi - very unprofessional and hard to deal with. We have lived in many countries and cities all over the world and have never experienced anything like this. Worst rental experience ever. They don´t have a proper process to deal with maintenance issues so we had to follow up all the time to make sure things get done and they didn´t get done. Very chaotic property manager, lots of talk and very little action. Many times tried to discuss issues, sent letters etc. but they avoided any issues and proper discussion. They were dishonest with us since the beginning and as always in life, truth will come out. When we wanted to move out, they made it extremely difficult for us because they lied to new potential property managers who called them for reference. Extremely dissapointing, rude and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.

Disappointing
Disappointing, lazy, rude and borderline racist. Whilenour experiences with our former property manager were great, our current property manager is AWOL. Property is more than decent, but it is old and with age comes with issues. Of The listed chattels that come with the property, the stove, vacuum cleaner, dishwasher and washing machine have all died. All were very old and when told about the issues, the PM acknowledged them and promised to either fix or replace them. After nothing happened we tried to follow up but phone calls, emails, and text messages all go unanswered. Our own personal vacuum cleaner and dryer were both broken past the point of repair by Barfoot contractors to which we again heard nothing back about. Thevproperty has been sigbed off for healthy homes by Barfoots contractor which has been questioned by two independent contractors as the house has leaks, mould, broken windows and rotten wall panels. On move in, there was blood on the wall, light switches covered in sticky grease, there was half a wardrobe of dirty clothes left in a corner, including dirty underwater. Barfoots response was that a property has to be cleaned to a reasonable standard and apartenlty that was reasonable. Current PM has made multiple rude, offensive and racist comments about us to us and third parties and then lies about it.
We have an unlovable case against the ready to take to the Tenancy Tribunal but worry about retailliation from Barfoots and the agent as the agent has already made retaliatory comments and actions for our questioning the state of the house.
Wa truly great to have our rent raised another $50, we keep paying more and more the service just drops and drops.
Senior property management contractors have estimated that should we move out, the rent the house would earn would drop by $150 to $200 a week and would require significant investment to bring it up to a rental condition. This would explain some of the property managers behaviour, but makes other behaviour from a head scratcher.
Very sad. It is (or should be) a wonderful home with potential, but the property manager has left it to rot.

I am really disappointed with one of the rental property manager behaves. An application we filed for a house took nearly a month. And the manager don’t know anything about the property, and complete irresponsible responses. It’s a first time experience, people need to be much more professional.
