Karl , the fitter, arrived punctually, 1st impression was, nice bloke,
Three hours, 3 cups of tea and a bacon sandwich later he was done 👍
He also helped a neighbour of mine break in to their own house because he forgot his keys, he refused cash offered as it's kind to be kind.

Had a roof rack and rear ladder fitted to rear door , had a quote and excepted it the parts was delivered to my house, a fitted day was agreed turned up on time 2 men very polite and carried out the work did a great job took care of my van . Was very pleased from start to finish with avr easy to get hold off by phone and communication by email was fantastic, thank you for your services and hope things go well in the future 👍🏻

I was given a dash cam but had difficulty finding a person or garage locally to fit it. I did an internet search and choose AVRMOBILES. I am very impressed with the service they offer. They were able to advise me on connecting extras which were necessary but not provided with the initial purchase. Communication was excellent as was the fitter - Karl. I was kept updated with dates and times. Karl was super efficient, knowledgeable, polite and punctual. I hope I never need to use the dash cam but I am confident that this company would provide advice and after sales backup should I need it.

I paid AVR Mobile Fitters £373.99 for a Nextbase 622GW front/rear dashcam package including professional installation in April 2026.
Within roughly two months, the front camera mounting began repeatedly separating from the windscreen. This was not a one-off occurrence: from that point onward I had to keep pushing the camera back into position whenever I used the car.
AVR rejected responsibility. I was told that if there had been a problem with the original installation or adhesive bonding it would have become apparent within 24 hours; and that replacing the pad was a “layman’s task” which I should carry out myself. High temperatures were also suggested as a possible cause.
Because those were technical assertions about a Nextbase product, I asked Nextbase directly. Their written response was clear:
- the 24-hour timeframe is not a Nextbase technical position and cannot be used to rule out an installation or adhesive issue;
- repeated separation after approximately two months is not normal expected performance;
- adhesive remaining on the glass does not establish that the whole mounting system was correctly installed.
AVR then offered, as a “goodwill gesture”, to send its head engineer to repair the mounting free of charge. I accepted that practical solution, while simply making clear that acceptance did not mean I agreed with AVR’s interpretation of the warranty or consumer law.
AVR then withdrew the free repair specifically because I had reserved that position. Calling that “goodwill” seems difficult to reconcile with withdrawing the offer simply because I would not concede AVR’s position.
That, more than the failed adhesive pad itself, is why I am leaving this review.
I paid for professional supply and installation because I did not want to install a dashcam myself. When the installation began failing after only a couple of months, I expected the installer to inspect it and put it right. Instead, AVR repeatedly sought to explain why responsibility lay elsewhere, relied on technical assertions subsequently contradicted by the manufacturer, and ultimately withdrew an offered repair because I would not concede their position.
The suggestion that heat may have caused the problem is also difficult to take seriously as a satisfactory explanation. A dashcam fitted to a windscreen is obviously going to experience warm summer conditions. If those conditions are sufficient to undermine the mounting after a couple of months, that hardly inspires confidence in the value of the professional fitting.
Nextbase, incidentally, has been considerably more helpful and has supplied replacement adhesive pads free of charge. I am now likely to carry out the repair myself simply to bring the matter to an end.
AVR may respond to this review by repeating its warranty terms or saying that replacing an adhesive pad is simple. That misses the point entirely. The issue is not whether I am physically capable of sticking on a new pad. The issue is whether a customer who pays nearly £400 for professionally supplied and fitted equipment should be expected to rectify a premature installation/mounting failure himself after around two months.
Based on my experience, if I were buying again I would seriously consider buying the Nextbase unit directly at the best available price and either installing it myself or using a different installer. AVR’s own position is that replacing the failed mounting pad is a straightforward task the customer should undertake. That rather undermines the value proposition of paying for professional fitting in the first place.
To be fair, the dashcam itself is good equipment. My criticism is of AVR’s installation aftercare and complaint handling. I certainly would not again pay a premium for “professional installation” if, when that installation begins failing shortly afterwards, the response is effectively that the customer can fix it themselves.
Everything above is based on written correspondence between AVR, Nextbase and me, which I have retained.
** UPDATE **: AVR’s response below proves my point about its complaint handling. Instead of addressing Nextbase’s written technical findings or correcting its inaccurate five-month timeline, it resorts to personal ridicule and comments about my review history. Every material statement in my review is supported by retained correspondence with AVR and Nextbase. Readers can judge both approaches for themselves.

I can not recommend these guys enough!! Really quick from the first email to the installation (4 days) so no waiting around!. The guys turned up exactly on time and got straight to work and within a couple of hours I had CarPlay up and running in my car. The guys themselves were extremely knowledgeable, a great laugh and an absolute pleasure to deal with!. If you are thinking about getting anything done go to these guys

Steve was our technician , who did an excellent job on our reversing camera, perfectly placed , fantastic image quality and absolutely no evidence any panels had been removed for running the wire.

Carl is a very wonderful person. He got everything I wanted fixed even did what I thought couldn’t be fixed. He left be very satisfied and will always request for him if I ever need assistance.

Its the second time I've used AVR, in fact I've just read my old review from 2018..they are great from start to finish and everybody included ,so very pleased with everything, a very caring company,....very highly recommended

Excellent Dashcam Installation – Highly Recommended
Really pleased with the installation of my Thinkware ARC900 front and rear dashcam with the LTE module. Karl, the installation engineer, did an excellent job and was professional, knowledgeable and very helpful throughout.
He took the time to make sure everything was hardwired correctly, including the parking-mode setup. I’ve now tested the system extensively and everything is working perfectly , parking mode remains active overnight, LTE remote access works well, and the battery protection is functioning as expected.
The wiring is extremely neat and the overall installation looks factory-fitted. Karl clearly knows what he is doing and paid great attention to detail.
Very happy with the workmanship and service. A big thank you to Karl. I would definitely recommend him and the company for a professional dashcam installation.

We had an excellent experience with AVR Mobile Fitters from start to finish. Of the 3 quotes for rear and front parking sensors that we asked for they were by far the cheapest but a big plus was them coming to our house to do the fitting rather than us having to go to them. We did wonder why they were the cheapest and were a little bit concerned especially when we saw they had some negative reviews but they were so communicative and understanding that we decided to trust them. When the fitter arrived on the day he was like the sales team - courteous, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. He fitted Steelmate sensors and we were delighted with the result. We're now 100% reassured that we won't risk bumping into those pesky low bollards and can park with confidence in those increasingly narrow parking places. Two years ago had rear sensors and reversing camera fitted which to date has been very useful. Recently used AVR to supply and fit front parking sensors to my car. The whole process from start to finish was faultless, with updates via email and text. John the installer was very courteous and knowledgable and carefully explained what he was doing. The sensors work fine and are proving to be exactly what i required.

I bought a used Range Rover Evoque that didn't have a factory-fitted reversing camera. I firstly went to a well known, national, motoring accessory retailer, who told me that, whilst one could be fitted to an Evoque, it would interfere with the DAB radio. (???) However, they steered me towards a specialist local company. I contacted them, who told me that it could be fitted, but it would take out my bumper sensors. (???!!!) So far, not so good.

I then did an internet search and came across AVR Mobile Fitters. I spoke to one of their sales staff, who listened to my concerns and took the time to liaise with one of their engineers before giving me a definitive answer, which was that it was perfectly possible to retrofit a reversing camara to a RR Evoque and not have it interfere with any of the other systems in the car. So I ordered the job.

The kit arrived at my house within a few days. About a week later, two engineers came to fit the camera. They clearly knew what they were doing. They talked me through where all the trunking would go, and liaised with me as to where exactly I wanted the actual camera on my rear door. Two hours later, with everything in the car put back where it should be and with no evidence of the extra internal cabling, the engineers had me test my new reversing camera and its display on the centre LCD console. Needless to say it hadn't interfered with either my radio or the bumper sensors.

I found AVR Mobile Fitters to be a brilliant company to liaise with and do business with, and I would certainly use them again for a similar, future purchase.

I had spoken with the company prior to raising an order for the next-base camera system. The lady I dealt with was very professional and provided me with the comfort factor I was looking for. The purchase was made and delivery took place as stated followed by the engineers booking date to complete. The engineer messaged me days before confirming my booking and telephoned me on the day advising of his arrival time. The engineer (Carl) was excellent. He advised me of the installation and confirmed with me the routes taken within the car for the cabling etc. noting all safety aspects especially surrounding the Air-Bags. Nothing was on show and the cars fabric was completely in tack with no sign of disturbance or visible marks to the fabric. Carl demonstrated the system showing me all was working as it should. All in all a very good experience being managed by a very good company. Well done all!
