Obviously being diagnosed with any cancer is frightening and asbestos mesothelioma is incurable so I was searching for a company that were sympathetic and quick to act.
I felt comfortable with Oliver & co as they guided me through the stages including a home visit for initial support.
My solicitor, James Cameron has been the most helpful person, always being completely patient and polite, its difficult remembering events over 30 years ago but I never felt under pressure to provide any more information than I could.
I was offered all sorts of advice of how to claim certain benefits, all form filling was clearly marked out and my settlement was swift and financial worries were alleviated.

No one should have to go through what my family did. Our whole world collapsed when our father was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. At the time, the family was still coming to terms with the loss of our sister who only 16 months prior, lost her battle against breast cancer. The shock of the devastating news that our father's illness was terminal was too much to bear. How could something like this appear from no where? Our father was a very healthy, energetic, smart and handsome man who had years ahead of him, was suddenly faced with imminent death! If I'm perfectly honest, we were all a little naive to begin with, as none of us had never heard of the condition, but had heard of the word Asbestosis - my father had worked as a labourer for many years with various establishments during which time he handle such substance and did what ever job he was asked without protective clothing. There were no health and safety issues in place back then! This disease sat doormat in my father's body all those years and reared it's ugly head in February of 2009. He died on 29 June 2009!
During his illness, we were able to contact Oliver and Co Solicitors. They had experience in Asbestosis cases and were dedicated to bringing those responsible accountable. James Cameron was one of the lawyers who came to see my father. He treated him with concern and empathy and made sure the whole family were aware of the procedures that were to follow. My father made a statement which was then followed up by Oliver and Co. Mr Cameron kept in constant contact and kept the family abreast of relevant information. In total it took about 9 weeks for the inquiries/investigations and liability to go through. Oliver and Co where able to agree a compensation amount for our father. No amount of money or compensation can ever replace a loved one. However, in such cases, thanks to solicitors like Oliver and Co who's dedication and persistence in ensuring some justice, meant that our father didn't die in vain!
It should also be noted that no establishment, no matter how many years lapse should be allowed to get away without responsibility and that families who have lost loved ones are compensated, irrespective where the product was manufactured.
