My late father was exposed to Asbestos during his working life and sadly it contributed to his early passing. During his final months we contacted James Cameron at Oliver & Co solicitors for advice on how to pursue a claim against my Fathers previous employers . As a family we just wanted acknowledgment of my Fathers exposure to asbestos and how it impacted negatively on his health. James is knowledgeable, professional, reassuring and informative. At each step of the way he kept us involved and advised us accordingly. Our claim was far from simple and we met many hurdles along the way. Upon writing this my Mum has received her initial payment and even though it is bitter sweet we would not have received this without James help. So a big 5 stars from myself and my family to James and Lucy and all members of the team at Oliver & Co, my only regret is my Dad never lived to be able to thank you himself . Thanks to Asbestos Justice for dealing with this issue on our behalf. When my late father passed he made me executor of his will so I took on the correspondence regarding his case. Though very sad it felt really personal and I could tell our solicitor had spent time getting to know my dad, something he continued with me. He never once seemed too busy to speak about the case and I enjoyed our friendly chats. Communication was excellent and informative, the service was pressure free, friendly and compassionate. After being exposed to asbestos through a previous U.K. employer over 50 years ago, I hardly gave it a second thought regarding making a claim for compensation until I was made aware of the service offered by Oliver & Co. Solicitors. Owing to the fact that I have been living abroad for many years I imagined that the process of making a claim would be almost impossible.

My dad became ill in November 2019 with shortness of breath. His condition declined rapidly and he sadly died in March 2020. I know you hear it all the time but he was my best mate.
The consultants told us they believed he had mesothelioma due to his exposure to asbestos when he was working. They advised me to contact a specialist solicitor for advice. I made contact with James Cameron of Oliver and Co. James was outstanding right from day one. There were some really difficult issues with our case due in my opinion to errors made by the coroner. James identified these issues and his expert knowledge and experience guided us through, I have no doubt that without James we would not have been successful. James kept us updated, he is so personable and wanted to know about my dad as a person and not just a “case”. I thoroughly enjoyed my talks with James about dad and I cannot stress enough that without James guiding us through we would not be where we are today. Can’t recommend James highly enough.

We recently used James Cameron at Asbestos Justice (Oliver and co. Solicitors) when my father was diagnosed with Mesothelioma. The NHS recommends you go with one of their recommended charities, but I just didn't feel like they cared and it seemed like a club Solicitors pay into for recommendation, I therefore decided to go against their advise and take a leap of faith and go with James. From day one James has been amazing, he speaks like a normal person, he listens when you are having a hard time and doesn't talk like your usual Solicitor. James made one of the hardest times of my life, a little easier, as he walked us through everything and took care of everything - he fights like it is his own fight. You couldn't ask for more than this. Although it will never bring my dad back, he won more than we ever imagined for my mum, so she will never have to worry about bills or where she will live. We did not have to pay James a penny, everything is paid for by the other side. James worked fast to get the initial government payout, so we could pay for some private treatment of immunotherapy, so we know we did everything we could for our dad.

We needed to help to navigate this mindfield after the passing of my father. The team at Oliver & Co Solicitors provided confident, worry-free advice and help at every stage of the process. They got the claim sorted efficiently and with clear requirements along the way. It was painful to discuss at times but they are very human and understanding.

In our case, Helena Cameron (Specialist Industrial Disease Solicitor, Associate Director) primarily looked after our case, she was exceptional and a credit to her industry: human; knowledgeable and incredibly efficient. Just brilliant really. We cannot thank her enough.

I highly recommend Oliver & Co, Solicitors, based in Chester, who dealt with a personal claim for myself and my family against a company my father worked for in the 50s/60s, and from where he contracted asbestosis and mesothelioma, ultimately contributing to his death. Helena at Oliver & Co dealt with my claim in an efficient, professional and friendly manner. The process is time-consuming, but I was ready for that, especially as we were going back 60+ years. In early February 2020 my 83 year old father in law Fred was sadly diagnosed with mesothelioma The news was devastating to all the family ,he had worked all his life as a engineer to the age of 74 and never been out of work.
