I am a founder, early stage investor and service provider to founders. I've been in the Wholesale Investor ecosystem for many years. It is the only ecosystem that brings the three sides together (founders, investors and advisors).
We recently sponsored Emergence 2023 and had both tremendous interest at the event and great follow-up post event.
We have won business from the event that was way in excess of the cost of sponsorship. The key was to be clear on our message to the audience on what problems we solve.
Advice for founders using the platform - be clear on the problems you solve and how you intend to grow your market share. With my investor hat on, I only spend about 10% of my time looking at your product. I spend more time looking at you, your market, your strategy, your financial plans, etc. The WI platform gives me more access than anything else I've tried.

As a start-up, we've decided to join WSI as they offered a wide investor network, good marketing, and the managers we dealt with seemed eager to help.
However, after a year on the platform we've been only contacted by about 6 potential investors, of which 4 didn't respond to the emails. We also received some inquiries from 'investors' who are willing to profit from non-savvy founders by offering business-killing contracts.
We raised 3 rounds outside the platform over the last 3 years.
The good thing is that WSI helps to improve your pitch deck, positioning, and things like that.
But IMHO it's not worth the money - start-up incubators, mentors, and advisors can deliver the same results for free.

I first signed up on the online platform after being recommended the Wholesale Investor service, and found a wealth of networking opportunities after creating a profile. As an investor, I notced both potential dealflow and LPs, and had a couple calls leading up to the conference.

The conference itself was a very rewarding experience. I found that having been active online first and been on a panel discussion, I had a lot of interesting investors approach me. Amazed at the value provided by a single conference and some prep work - clearly the networking conference is alive and well!

I recently attended the Emergence event in London hosted by Wholesale Investor, and I must say, it was an incredible experience. As an investor, I have attended several events in the past, but none have come close to the caliber of Emergence.

The event was well-organized, with a great lineup of high-quality startups and investors in attendance. The opportunity to network with like-minded individuals was invaluable, and I came away from the event with several potential investment opportunities that I am excited to explore further.

One of the things that stood out to me was the use of CRIISP, Wholesale Investor's networking platform. It allowed me to seamlessly connect with other attendees and set up meetings with potential investment targets. CRIISP made the networking process so much easier, and it was clear that Wholesale Investor has created a great product.

Overall, I highly recommend Wholesale Investor and the Emergence event to any investor looking to expand their portfolio and connect with other industry professionals. The event was well organised, in particular the information and briefings before hand. I also really enjoyed the networking and program of speakers.

After exhibiting at the WI expo we received a healthy list of leads and a great deal of interest which undoubtedly will help us get through 2023 and beyond.

Very much looking forward to Emergence in March!!!

Wholesale Investor is an investment platform that supposedly helps you raise funds. It does this with no contingent / success fee because put frankly they don't know how to market your business in order to guarantee any success.

They are focused on closing you for the upfront fee (roughly £4k in our case) and they aren't interested in offering any credit terms on that... instead they push you to pay through IWOCA if you cant pay upfront in full.

Once on the platform they include you in their "Newsletters" which mean you're buried in an email that has 10 or so other businesses in there.

After 2/3 months we've managed to get 3 leads all of which have ignored our subsequent outreach.

The reality is Wholesale Investor is just not geared up to be able to push / promote your business and I would highly advise not wasting your precious time / cash resources on this platform if you are a start-up looking for funding.

In addition to their inability to market your business through their online platform they host in-person events where you can setup a small booth and meet investors that attend... the only issue is there's hardly any investors there and you just spend your entire day talking to businesses who are there walking around trying to pitch to start ups about how they can help you with whatever service they're providing (in our case we had Engineers, developers, other investment platforms... a whole host of time wasters).

Long story short, save your cash and don't spend it on Wholesale Investor.

Their software has been invaluable with regards to helping us to get in touch with relevant investors. Our customer success manager has gone above and beyond to make sure we are getting the most out of our time with them and it's been really useful to understand which areas of our company are creating the most traction with their network.

Great experience with WI UK

This is our second raise with WI, been with them for for 13 months now. Had strong investor leads coming through the CRIISP platform, great support from the team, and the events are a great place to meet investors.

I've removed my original review as 3 months further down the road with Wholesale Investor and I've realised it's not what I expected or was sold it to be. I've been on the CRIISP platform now for nearly 5 months and I've only had 6 people request to view my pitch (out of the 33,000 investors they say are on the platform), and only 1 actually chat to me. And they were not even an investor but simply an advisor who were not even operating in the same space. I've now also found out that there are far cheaper platforms out there that offer the same service

Great innovative company with amazing team. We always get the support we need from them in our process of raising finance. We are few months into our membership and we already learned lots of things from them. The platform is unique in the promotion and management of your raise and their events are just excellent.

Brilliant support from the whole team at WI, through all stages of our campaign.
What we love best are the networking opportunities and the way the CRIISP app is designed to flow the whole process with the investors. Keep up the good work.

The outstanding features of WI and their conference included exceptional help with preparations such as pitch deck reiterations, presentation decks and the unique CRIISP growth labs.
