This a been the worst nightmare move of…
This a been the worst nightmare move of my life. They lied from the beginning just to get you to use their poor shitty service. I asked a million questions asked about boxes and asked about a weight ticket. Once movers got there they had no boxes or an empty weight ticket, I needed one full also. Natalie and Alex assured me because they are going across state lines weight tickets are required. Delivered my items broken, gave me someone else’s shipment, missing items. Still no weight ticket. I am furious. Then they want to be secretive about the managers number. They stated whatever they disamble they reassemble. My furniture is sitting in assembled. I’m mad as hell.
DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY OR…
DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!
This had to be the worst experience ive ever had with any company ever. We moved from Texas to Michigan last second and we tried to find a moving company that could help us. Every company i talked to gave me HUGE quotes that we just couldn't afford. We decided to just rent a uhaul truck which would cost us just under $3,000. This company called and when I old them we were just going with Uhaul they asked if i wanted to just get a quote to see if maybe they can do better. I told them it'd have to be under 3,000 and they said they could try. The man on the phone asked what we would be moving, and as im sitting on the back porch playing fetch with my dogs i just kind of named off what i could think of. A rough estimate on how many boxes we had and then big items we have. I wasn't walking around naming off things we own as i thought we would have plenty room and that I wasnt giving him a final list of everything that had to fit in the truck. The quote they gave us was $2,939, which to me was awesome! You mean we're going to pay about the same and someone will do all the heavy lifting for me?! sign me up!!! They made me pay the deposit to schedule the move which was $1324 so we paid that over the phone then they said we would HAVE to pay the rest (half when being picked up and half when our stuff gets delivered) by Money order. I had made a comment to the supervisor i was talking to that we were going to go with the 26ft truck from uHaul and he said "oh yeah we use 26ft trucks or a semi" so I thought for sure we would be good with all of our stuff. So we paid to get it scheduled and then a couple days before the move i got a call from them to confirm everything, which makes sense. The man on the phone asks me what we have and i name off what i can think of off the top of my head. The man then goes to tell me that we dont have enough room in the truck for all of our stuff...I asked how that is if we have a 26ft truck. Turns out we dont have a whole truck, we only had between 300 and 400 square foot in a truck shared with other loads. They were saying that we could pay MORE for more room in the truck and i REFUSED to give this company any more money and it was to last minute to cancel since he called only a couple days before we were set to move. So we just had to figure it out. I tried calling the supervisor (since he made sure to give me his personal number and said i could reach him at any time and he would be so willing to help with anything i needed) he didnt answer and when i texted him to call me back. He said he was on the phone with another client and he'd call me back. Spoiler alert I never heard from him again. So since I wasn't about to give these scammers any more money we had to end up renting a uhaul anyways and carry whatever they wouldn't take.
So the day before we move comes and i get a call from a company called Perfectly Fast Moving. I was VERY confused because they said they would be at our house the next day to pick up our stuff. Turns out that Brightside is a company that contracts out other people to move you. The next day when they showed up and i showed them the things we had for them to move they said that the dressers we had werent the size that Brightside put on the list of items, and that the boxes were to big as well. So they said that it would cost extra because we would be taking up extra space in the truck, again im not spending any more money on this that i was quoted. We had also already gotten the 2 money orders for the pickup and drop off so we didnt have any way to add money to them. We had to end up just putting everything they could fit in the small space they had allotted for the quote we had gotten. Whatever was left we had to try to squish into our uhaul we rented. We ended up having to leave ALOT of stuff behind because we had no way of fitting it anywhere. When they asked us for payment and we told them we had the money orders they said they do not accept money orders...luckily for us they called their boss and explained the situation and they were able to take it. After everything was packed up and they were ready to leave i asked how long it should take to get our stuff in michigan and the man said no longer than 14 days. Here we are 3 weeks later and we JUST got our stuff. Thank god we are staying with family for a little while and didnt need it right away. When i got the call this morning it was yet again another group of people from a different company delivering. They told me they DO NOT accept anything except Zelle or Cash. I told him i dont have either of those and only have the money order. This man was not going to give us our stuff unless we had cash or Zelle even though the main company said we HAD to have money orders. Luckily we were able to borrow the cash from my in laws and just give them the money order. Overall this was one of the most stressful experiences i've ever had!
Untrustworthy
I was miss informed by their staff gave they gave me a price i agreed and gave them $1K deposit but when it came time to do the inventory, they stated i only had told them i had 38 pieces that they had quoted me for. Then they stated if I wanted to add more pieces it was going to $3K more. Thomas was rude and obnoxious with me, and they don't agree on giving me my deposit back because I told them i wanted to cancel their services.
FRAUDS! WORST MOVER EVER!
FRAUDS! WORST MOVERS EVER!
I am deeply dissatisfied with my recent experience using Brightside for my relocation from Maryland, MD, to Knoxville, TN. My belongings were picked up on July 10th, 2025, and Brightside subcontracted the move to Express Movers—without informing me upfront.
To make matters worse, I was charged extra for a next-day delivery (on July 11th), which I had not requested or agreed to. I tried multiple times to reach Express Movers for clarification, but they never returned my calls. Brightside’s customer service was equally unhelpful. Despite repeated attempts to get updates, including a conversation with a representative last Saturday, I was met with a condescending and dismissive attitude that felt not only unprofessional but insulting.
Prior to signing the contract, I had regular communication with Brightside representatives who were responsive—until I made my payment. After that, my follow-up emails were completely ignored. To make matters worse, there is no dedicated customer service email listed on their website, making it almost impossible to escalate concerns.
I paid the full quoted amount on time, and on top of that, was unexpectedly charged an additional $800 via Zelle for a "long-carry" fee by the driver, Justin—something never disclosed during the booking process. They also used an 18-wheeler truck for delivery, which is extremely impractical for residential deliveries and not mentioned anywhere in the initial agreement.
The delivery was scheduled with only a day’s notice, and unfortunately, I was out of state due to a family emergency. While I don’t fault the Knoxville delivery driver—he was courteous and unaware of the full context—the overall experience has been chaotic and stressful.
Brightside Movers are the worst. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Be aware!!
Be aware!!! Set you up with a cheap price, you know if something is too good to be true don’t do it. We said we got 20 boxes of clothes and kitchens and all the others stuff. They put 20 SMALL goddamn boxes in there, who even use that box to move??? If you think you can sleep good by scamming ppl well you should sleep good enough before you go to HELL!
Terrible experience for an 83 yr old.
Terrible experience for an 83 yr old.
Confused reservation fee. Had to sign a doc- u-sign on my phone that I couldn't read twice while they held my stuff hostage...asked for receipts 5 times...no response...still don't know what $250. "Quality assurance" is for.
This was the most corrupt and dishonest…
This was the most corrupt and dishonest group of people I’ve ever met in my life. They lied about being a moving company. They lied about being attached to the Better Business Bureau. They lied about the price. They damaged my bedframe, destroyed a $10,000 scooter, warped the tire on another $5000 scooter, and lied and kept our property for 27 days locked up in a warehouse in Compton, California. The movers showed up at Midnight to a duplex in a quiet neighborhood and unloaded the stuff. Every member of the staff is a liar, a cheater, and a thief. This is the most disgusting group of people I’ve ever met.
We had a horrible experience
We had a horrible experience. We were told we would have at least 4 movers and that they would arrive early. We instead had 2 who arrived late in the afternoon. Did not receive our goods in a timely fashion as promised and several items were broken. Would never use them again.

The move so far has been great with Vit and Slada, the pick up team. They are awesome; efficient, pleasurable , professional and a joy to work with.
I’d recommend them to anyone.
**Stay away from this company**
**Stay away from this company** They gave me a quote, and 3 days before the move decided that the original quote wasn't enough, and wanted just under $3,000 more. When i tried to cancel, they kept the deposit knowing the original quote was too low. Very deceptive in their business practices, and they know it. I wish I could give negative stars!!
Horrible
Horrible! They don't respond after they pick up your stuff! They get very rude. They worst ever... Don't do it... I haven't got my stuff since 10 days ago and no one responds. They are just available for getting your money and after that they are rude and disgusting...
Bad experience
Bad experience. Charged me a lot for a small load so I thought they would do a great job. instead, they didn’t show up on what they advised was my delivery date three different times - leaving me hanging, needing to reserve a new time and moving truck delivery reservation date with my new apt building, and lots of wondering and worrying about how much more furniture, plates, glassware, ustensils, towell, I should buy given the uncertainty of not knowing when they would finally show up. 9 days later - 4th time is the charm! Damaged one box. Whatevs…
Not just the worst moving experience, but the worst customer service experience in my life
Absolutely terrible. I have no idea how they're at 4.5 stars. Every time we spoke with them it was someone different, they contradicted the previous person, and the costs went up. Everything you can think of that could've gone wrong did. I could provide all the details but neither you nor I have time for that. Their tactics are aggressive, shady, and border on consumer fraud. They wait until you're in a compromised position (either up against a move date, they have your belongings on a truck, or both), and then they increase their costs by thousands of dollars and point to the agreement you signed with them that gives them the legal 'out'... but hey, I agreed to trust them and signed the agreement so it's my fault for falling for their bait and switch tactics, which they absolutely were. If you value your time, money, sanity, or there is anything that has the slightest bit of importance to you I would steer clear of this company and their affiliates.
Not worth your time
Context: I've moved several times (using moving companies or UBOX) and never had any damage to my stuff. In hindsight I should neve have signed with them. Brightside is very professional but they subcontract so they have no liability. Master Moving was just unprofessional at every step and offered pennies on the dollar for settlement after thousands of dollar in damage.
If you value your money, your time, or your sanity — STAY AWAY from Brightside Moving and their shady subcontractor, Master Moving Company. This was a terrible experience start to finish.
Here's exactly what happened:
🔻 Brightside Moving outsourced my move to Master Moving Company.
🔻 They gave a confirmed quote — only to jack up the price at the last minute. After everything was packed. After they had full measurements. When you’re completely vulnerable. Unless you've mapped out your stuff to the last broom you are going to get dinged severaly and without much option at the end.
🔻 They broke my bed frame and other items. And when I filed a claim? They offered $0.60 per pound for the damaged items. That’s not a typo — they literally think your belongings are worth loose change. 🔻 When I questioned this insult of a settlement, they said, “It’s in the fine print.” So apparently, if you sign their paperwork, you’re also signing away:
• Your right to fair compensation
• Your expectation of professional service
• Your sanity
💥 I’ve attached PHOTOS of the damage and the actual insurance settlement letter so others can see just how low they go. This isn’t a misunderstanding — it’s a system designed to screw the customer while hiding behind loopholes and paperwork.
Final word:
If you’re okay with:
• Paying more than you agreed to
• Receiving laughable compensation for serious damage
• And being told “too bad, you signed it” when things go wrong...
Then sure, go ahead and hire Brightside and Master Moving. But if you actually want honesty, accountability, and basic respect for your belongings — RUN. FAST. This move has cost me thousands of dollars and weeks of stress I’ll never get back. Don’t let them do it to you.
Sales and final charges are deceptive
Initial price quoted was thousands of dollars more at end-state. They didn’t label boxes at all. Didn’t assemble furniture they took apart such as a dresser mirror, entertainment center. Wardrobe boxes with hangers just thrown in, assuming used those boxes only because they took up more space they would then up charge for. Customer service response was, you can make a claim if something is damaged through the email link. We have moved 13 times and this service was just subpar and the increasing subjective price scale seems borderline deceptive. Would never hire this company for a full pack again. One bedroom, one bath apartment at end quadrupled from original sales/contract price.
Don’t not use!
I should’ve known better by reading the reviews. They were SO NICE when hiring them, they were nice when they asked for money but they don’t care about you or your belongings. They took my money & now they don’t care that I still don’t have my belongings. I was lied to by James from quality assurance, who told me I would have my things no later than 5 days after my first available date. They will argue that was an estimate but it’s not. An estimate is “it could be 5 days”. I was told I would have my things no more than 5 days. My stuff got picked up on 6/19, I wanted my things on 6/21. I’ve called & customer service is SO RUDE. They don’t care at all. I was told they would call the moving company they subcontracted & call me back but I never got a call back. It will be one week tomorrow that my stuff was picked up. Communication is poor and they lie. I would be a little happier if I could have a timeline of when my things would get here but no one will tell me.
Please Read and Prepare if Used
Please do not use this company! I have been very frustrated with this process as it was not even close to how Shawn (salesman) described it. Shawn himself was very nice, but like most salesman the experience was completely different. The movers were two hours late, and when I called to ask why, I was told it was because "The guys are hungry and they needed to get breakfast" . After most of the move was done, I was charged for more than double the cubic feet, when I asked why he said "bulky items" I pressed further and measured our vanity/dresser which was 3.5/2/4 feet which is 28 feet which was an acceptable variation from 23 which me and Shawn discussed. However, the mover charged me for 100 cubic feet and when I asked how he calculated it he said it doesn't matter how big the item is because it's bulky and so he uses the calculation of an entire section of the truck around and above the area of where the item was placed. I asked to measure the "section of the truck" he said this could not be done because they would have to unpack the truck. I know I was overcharged for several items and there simply was nothing I could do about it because every answer I got was "it's bulky items" or "I've done this for 10 years" when we could clearly calculate the cubic feet of the "bulky" items.
Furthermore, during pickup it was stressed that we would need to be there for our items which we were told would be there within 3-5 days. However, our stuff did not arrive anywhere near this deadline. I called in three separate times to find out where our stuff was. Each call I was told that an order to call the drivers would be put in and I would be called back the next day. None of the times was I called back, and it took until the third attempt calling them for them to reach out to the driver which ended up coming after three weeks. When our stuff was delivered, all of the boxes where not just broke down, but some where completely crushed to more than half of their size and where wet, saturated and soggy. On top of the that, our TV came completely broken. I reached out to the company and have still not heard back.
I am extremely disappointed, as I really believed we partnered with a good ethical company, but in the end it was just another money grabbing operation that does not stand by their words or cared about their customers. They used kind and "caring" sales people and a customer service team that is the same, but no positive action is taken. The teams will simply gaslight you throughout a long and frustrating process
Avoid Brightside Moving Group at All Costs – Unethical & Unprofessional Experience
My experience with Brightside Moving Group has been deeply disappointing and financially burdensome due to their lack of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
I was quoted a price based on a quality assurance (QA) call conducted by an employee named Cody. Despite giving a full rundown of my items, the QA was clearly rushed and not documented accurately. The inventory was underestimated by over 400 sq ft, which led to a last-minute increase of $1,236 at pickup and delivery. I had no idea about this “adjustment” until the day of the move, when I had no choice but to proceed or risk losing everything.
When I tried to dispute the discrepancy, I was accused of wanting a “free move” by a rep named Shane Mason, which was incredibly unprofessional and offensive. Not once did I ask for a free move—I simply expected honesty and accurate pricing.
Another employee, Maya, claimed the movers had contacted me ahead of time, which was completely false. I explained that I had my phone with me all day and received no such call, but she dismissed my concern and condescendingly told me I “must not have been by my phone.” Her response was disrespectful and dismissive.
I understand estimates may fluctuate slightly, but this was a gross misrepresentation of services. The company took no responsibility for the internal mistakes made during the QA process and instead blamed me, the customer, for their oversight.
Please be warned: Brightside Moving Group operates under shady and misleading practices. Their communication is poor, their staff lacks accountability, and their customer service relies on gaslighting instead of solving problems.
Save yourself the stress and money—do NOT book with this company.
Worst Service Ever
On May 1st, 2025, we contracted Brightside to handle our move from Florida to Ohio. I was quoted a price without anyone coming out and looking at what we had to move. Two or 3 days before the first available pick up day they reviewed what I had, and price went up 50%. I was stuck. It was too late to hire someone else and they knew it. We agreed to pay it since we really didn't have a choice. The 3 day pick-up window was honored and on the 3rd day a company arrived and said they wanted $3,000 more. That was enough
We told them we're not paying a penny more. Even if we had to cancel our house closing in Ohio and lose a $2,000 deposit. It just didn't matter. We felt we were being scammed and we weren't giving the one more dollar. The driver went to the cab of his tractor and came back and said his supervisor said they would go ahead and move us for the agreed upon price. They loaded up, took our belongings and instead of delivering it two days later, they unloaded 12 days later. Leaving us to find living arrangements for the 12 days. I called Customer Service everyday and got voice mail and no one called back. After several days of this I finally called sales and they answered everytime. Of course Sales always answered. They would get ahold of CS and transfere me. It was the only way I could talk to CS. CS basically told me to call the company they had contracted to move us. They had washed their hands after we paid them. We never paid the Trucking company a penny. We paid Brightside.
Other companies had reviewed all of our belongings from the pictures from when our house was for sale and guaranteed the price. No exceptions. Go with one of those. Also, look at the BBB review of Brightside. I wish I had.
We feel that Brightside owes us for some of the living arrangement expenses. We were completely mislead by the sales department.
