Both my sons (9 & 1 1 years) love football and have been eager to join a grass roots club but with supply and demand as it currently stands, this has proven difficult with both on lengthy waiting lists for a local club. After a Google search of the local area, I discovered We Make Footballers as an alternative opportunity to develop the skills of the game in a non-competitive environment.

Since August 2024, both my sons have been attending the Saturday skills development sessions at Aberdeen Sports Village and Since May 2025, the Sunday League sessions at Aberdeen Sports Village.

The Saturday sessions are skills based with a focus area for development through carousel drills followed by small team games which are mixed every week.

The Sunday sessions focus more on competitive and positional play with 1v1 games followed by a 30 minute match. Teams are mixed every week and there’s always a Player of the Match award. Those who attend gain points for themselves as individuals across the block and an overall winner given a trophy at the end.

I have been impressed by the very clear structure and smooth delivery of sessions each week which David clearly prides himself on. He is very approachable and always available to answer any queries.

For Saturday sessions, David always ensures parents are emailed each week to share how the sessions will look in terms of focus, related drills and benefits to the player. This is hugely helpful and allows you the opportunity to discuss this with your child/children.

The Sunday sessions have been incredibly beneficial for the boys to apply the Saturday skills in a more competitive environment which they have thoroughly enjoyed.

In both sessions, the coaches are high quality and interact well with the children. They pay attention to individual needs and give feedback in an appropriate, supportive manner. For many, you can see their passion for the game and for developing young talent. They work hard to enthuse and inspire to give youngsters the belief that they can be an amazing footballer if they work hard and have the right attitude.

Recently, one of my boys finally reached the top of their waiting list and has since joined a local club. We can now definitely see the impact of We Make Footballers as he has smoothly transitioned into grass roots football with a great skill set and increased confidence. For that alone, we are incredibly grateful to David and his coaches for their part in his footballing journey.

I would wholeheartedly recommend We Make Footballers. A fantastic organisation with the child at the centre.

My son LOVES We Make Footballers training every week. It is so well run and the drills and skills and matches are a highlight for him. He can’t wait to go every week!

Both my boys go to We Make Footballers, and they’ve come on so much since starting! They’re learning new skills every week and developing brilliantly. The coaches are fantastic – really supportive, enthusiastic, and make every session fun. Highly recommend!

My daughter goes to weekly lessons and really enjoys them and her football is definitely improving too. All the coaches are great with the kids.
We also had her favourite coach at her 10th birthday party recently and he was excellent and gave all the kids a really great time. I highly recommend!!

This is an amazing Academy. The first day which was the free trial, my son was not confident because I have not been taking him out to play football but after the first day his confident and interest grew massively that he looks forward to the sessions, he has become my great little Footballer. The coaches are brilliant with the children. I would recommend We Make Footballers to everyone. Thank you for the good work, keep it up.

Incredible experience for the youth!

I highly recommend the club in Newham – there is so much positivity and dedication from the coaches! I’m truly impressed by their professionalism. I recommend it because it’s a wonderful place for children to train while having fun!

This is a very good grounding for boys and girls alike. It is well organised and properly managed. Kids are encouraged to focus throughout and training is tailored to their needs. Importantly, kids are taught fair play and good sportsmanship. Match manners are instilled. Can't recommend it enough...just a shame it starts at 6.30. A bit late in the winter months.

WMF is an amazing academy. My son has become a great little Footballers. The coaches are fantastic and are amazing with the kids. My son has always enjoyed attending the session.

Coaches are so friendly. Good time pass for weekend.

Great format for kids to get lots of touches on the ball. Well balanced sessions run by Liam and his coaching staff. My kid loves this format and always enjoys the session which is what I realised is the most important factor at a young age.

My 2 boys have recently joined WMF in Glasgow and I only have good things to say. Each session is different and enjoyable working on different things each week to learn new skills, the coaches are fantastic and work very closely with the kids helping them with each and every thing along the way. The progress my boys have made is amazing from when they started only a short time ago until now even when they are not at training they are working on what the have learned from their sessions. Cannot fault them great team to be apart of.

Great experience with WMF North Leeds Academy - our son thoroughly enjoyed his football sessions! Very organised, great team of people. Would highly recommend.

WMF made my 9 year old daughter feel immediately welcome, and ran an incredibly professional, well organised session. The follow up at Chelsea's training ground was even better, and my daughter has been invited to trail at the ETC as a result. Thanks for the amazing opportunity!

Super session well done guys!

My son has just finished a weeks camp with We Make Footballers at Goals in Aberdeen. He did a few days at Easter Camp and picked up a few moves so decided to enroll him for a week. He enjoyed the sessions, they are well structured so they are being coached rather than just free play which I really liked. There were a few boys giving him bother on the first day, I raised it with David and it was addressed first thing the next day with a chat to all the kids about the importance of respect in sport and good sportsmanship. If your kid loves football, they will get a lot from this camp!

Betsy played at the We make footballers fun flair festival recently. She had a brilliant time! She got to showcase her talent to coaches and some scouts. Betsy got to the final at Cobham Chelsea. It was a memorable occasion! The ground was amazing and she got to play 1v1s and 2v2s and so on. The whole thing was well organised and great to see so many girls playing football. Betsy was lucky enough to get a trial from this for a ETC! Emerging talent center. So I highly recommend we make footballers as a place to be coached, have fun and become a better player. We make footballers have created the possibility for higher level football for Betsy already. Thank You!❤️

Our daughter had a fantastic experience at the Chelsea Fun Flair Festivals with We Make Footballers. The event was well-organised, encouraging, and gave her a real confidence boost.
