So long as you provide an accurate assessment of vehicle condition when requesting an online valuation estimate, there should be no surprises in the branch. We do appraise the vehicle before making a firm offer and are not interested in normal wear and tear, but more serious problems may result in a lower offer if not declared online. We keep detailed appraisal notes and photographs and will be happy to walk you through how we came to your offer to back up the honesty, and integrity of our team. During the numerous online valuations you completed, the only damage declared was scratches and dents to the passenger side door. Unfortunately, once our Branch Manager had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle personally, we discovered multiple dashboard lights illuminated including the check engine light, there was engine noise, a rough idle and the transmission slipped. When we hooked up an industry-standard OBD2 reader to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic computer it returned a variety of troubling codes. I have pasted them below for full transparency. Unfortunately, once we identified all these additional issues with the 2004 Ford, coupled with the accident history and high mileage, we had to modify our valuation of your vehicle.
