Unflexible policies force experienced learners to waste time and money
WaniKani has no placement test and support refuses to manually adjust your level forward. I asked to move my level so that I could study for the upcomming JLPT N2, understanding that I will need to learn Wanikani kanji radical names.
For other advanced learners expect to spend 100+ days (just to get to N3 level) and months of subscription fees grinding through basic kanji and vocab you already know before you get any value from your time or money.
They recommended I look ahead at my level kanji and vocab and study on my own, making their service even more redundant as there isn't a way to quiz on those vocab in Wanikani outside of daily reviews (when you haven't reached that level). Extremely disappointing customer service for intermediate learners.
