Vinterior: Guilty Until Proven Innocent
A masterclass in how not to handle a seller dispute:
I’ve sold original posters for 12 years, but apparently that experience counts for very little if you don’t photograph every poster at the exact moment it goes into the tube.
A buyer claimed they received a completely different poster - one I have never owned or had in my inventory.
I provided Vinterior with:
-The original invoice for the poster, including the buyer’s details.
-Shopify records showing when the poster was deactivated from my inventory.
-Screenshot from my inventory proving I never owned the poster the buyer claims I shipped.
-Photos of the actual poster I shipped.
-Proof of dispatch and tracking showing the parcel going to the buyer’s address.
-Correspondence with the buyer, including their request to declare the poster as a £50 gift (which is wrong and therefore illegal).
-Additional information about my custom packaging and the poster tube used for the shipment.
Vinterior acknowledged that the buyer’s photograph showed an item I did not recognise or have in my inventory.
But because I didn’t have a photograph of the poster inside the packaging at the precise moment of dispatch, they decided there was insufficient evidence to establish what was in the tube and refunded the buyer.
Apparently, professional sellers are now expected to document the contents of every package like a forensic crime scene.
I’m now closing my Vinterior shop.
If you sell on Vinterior: take photos of everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. You never know when you’ll need to prove what was inside a sealed tube after it has left your hand. And good luck if you ever encounter a criminal on the platform.

We do appreciate the effort you have made to support your case.That said, our decision has been made based on the evidence available to us, in line with applicable Consumer Rights requirements and our policies.
As previously explained, in order for us to establish that the correct item was sent to the buyer, we need evidence showing the item at the point of dispatch or after it was dispatched. While the information you provided is helpful and has been taken into consideration, unfortunately, it does not allow us to verify what item was inside the package at the time it was dispatched.
We appreciate that it may be difficult to provide this type of evidence for every order. However, when there is a dispute regarding the item received, we are required to assess the available evidence and make a decision based on what can be established from that evidence.
We fully appreciate that you may not agree with the outcome, and we are sorry for any frustration or disappointment this may have caused. Please be assured that the decision was made carefully and was not intended to disregard the information or experience you provided. Thank you again for your time and for the information you shared with us.

Bedside cabinets
Communication from Sakura Vinteriors was excellent and the furniture arrived, promptly and very well packaged. They had clearly worked on the chests very well to finish them to a high standard and outwardly they look great.
However, I cannot pretend not to be disappointed by the quality of them. From the description written about them I had thought I was buying good solid built bedside chests. This is what I was looking for having been disheartened by new furniture being predominantly veneered wood.
Whilst the drawer fronts, top and side are solid wood the rest is made up from very thin hardboard and plastic coated manufactured wood. Unfortunately, the fronts of the drawers keep falling off when they are opened and they do not glide in out easily as described. Had I known they were this cheap quality wood(?) I would not have bought them.

Had issues with item being damaged…
Had issues with item being damaged during delivery/storage. However, seller, vinterior staff and courier all worked together to facilitate compensation/partial refund. The process was a bit slow and sometimes frustrating but the right outcome was reached - which gives confidence in the platform.
