⭐ 1 Star – Utterly Incompetent and Negligent – Avoid at All Costs
I have never dealt with a more negligent and disinterested finance company than V12 Vehicle Finance. My experience has been nothing short of disgraceful. I purchased a car through them in November 2024. Within 48 hours, I discovered it was sold in an unroadworthy and illegal condition, including a non-MOT-compliant passenger seatbelt and dangerously worn front brake pads, later confirmed by a failed MOT.
I formally rejected the vehicle on 27 January 2025 and returned it on 26 April 2025. As of 16 JUNE 2025, I still have not received my full refund. Not only that, V12 continues to mark my finance account as ‘in arrears’ since 31/05/2025, despite the fact the vehicle has long been returned and is no longer in my possession. This is a serious breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Credit Act 1974. It is also grossly unfair conduct under FCA CONC rules, damaging my credit and causing me further distress.
I sent a formal complaint to V12 and followed up with multiple emails, including one on 28 May 2025, which remains completely ignored. They have made zero effort to chase the dealership or resolve the matter. When I originally raised the issue, I was falsely told the defects were "cosmetic" — even though they included life-threatening safety issues. I had to take the case into my own hands and personally liaise with the dealership and broker just to get the rejection accepted.
This company exists purely to profit — not to protect consumers. Their complaints handling is abysmal, their communication is nonexistent, and their support throughout this ordeal has been non-existent. I have been financially, mentally, and emotionally drained as a result of their indifference.
V12 has failed on every level: regulatory, legal, and moral. If you’re thinking about financing a vehicle with them — don’t. Save yourself months of stress, false promises, and legal threats. They do not protect their customers. They protect themselves.
Avoid V12 Vehicle Finance at all costs. I am now seeking legal compensation against both v12 vehicle finance and Evans Halshaw Walsall (dealership) and will not stop until this case is escalated as far as necessary.

V12 are the only company to ever damage my credit - and I’ve never missed a single payment in my life.
If you’re someone who takes your credit seriously and values transparency, avoid V12 at all costs. Despite having funds in my account, they failed to take a Direct Debit, ignored every attempt I made to raise the issue, and placed a late payment on my credit file - just before I applied for a mortgage.
This company has caused me extreme stress, completely disregarded their responsibility, and demonstrated a dangerous lack of empathy and process - especially for customers who may be struggling with their mental health.
1. Missed Direct Debit – no response, no support, credit damaged
I had sufficient funds in my account. The payment didn’t go through due to an error on their end. I chased this multiple times - all ignored. I only heard back after credit management got involved, by which point the damage had already been done.
I explained the situation and was told to investigate it myself. No accountability. No support. Just indifference. This level of negligence, especially where credit files are concerned, is completely unacceptable - and frankly a breach of basic consumer duty.
2. Voluntary Termination - misled and blocked from using my rights
I called to use my legal right to voluntary termination under the PCP agreement. I was told I wasn’t eligible and that I’d have to pay up to the halfway point plus the balloon payment - which is completely incorrect and not stated in the contract.
This felt like a deliberate attempt to block a valid termination, purely for their commercial benefit. It was only after I sent a detailed, legally referenced email that they agreed to proceed - and even then, the process was made deliberately complex, slow, and obstructive.
This is a clear breach of consumer transparency and a worrying tactic for a regulated finance company.
3. Ongoing harassment during a live dispute
While I had a formal complaint and dispute open, V12 continued to call and send automated texts demanding payment. I was left to explain the situation again and again to agents who had no access to my previous emails, complaint records, or evidence.
This relentless contact, despite a live dispute, has caused serious stress and anxiety. It’s not just poor service - it’s a complete failure of internal process and duty of care, particularly to customers who may already be under pressure.
4. Vehicle collection - praised condition, then charged without evidence
When my car was collected, the agent went through the official checklist and stated clearly that the vehicle was in excellent condition - even better than when I first got it. I have photographic evidence, plus full stamped service history to prove it.
Yet shortly after, I received a vague letter demanding payment for damages - with no breakdown of charges, no justification, and no reference to contractual terms. This is a breach of transparency regulations.
Eventually:
- A £100 charge for a missing tyre pump (which I never received) was dropped.
- But a £170 charge remained for a “missing annual service,” despite the contract only requiring the car to be in good working order (section 5a of Terms and Conditions) - and despite the fact that the service history was stamped and left in the car.
I have now sent five emails to dispute this, with clear evidence attached. I have received no proper response, yet I continue to receive debt-chasing messages from their credit team - who are unaware a complaint is even open. That is absolutely negligent.
5. Broken complaints process
V12’s complaints process is fundamentally broken. There is no acknowledgement of receipt, no assigned contact, no tracking of past communication, and no proper resolution timeline.
Being left in the dark while your credit is affected, finances are disputed, and agents continue to call - is mentally exhausting. For anyone experiencing anxiety, financial strain, or stress, this could be genuinely harmful. I write this with major concerns for other consumers.
The lack of communication and clarity is staggering - and should be investigated by the Financial Ombudsman.
Final thoughts
I’ve always been financially responsible. I’ve never missed a payment. V12 are the only company to ever damage my credit - and they’ve done so while showing a total disregard for fairness, accuracy, and emotional wellbeing.
I am now preparing to escalate this to:

I strongly urge anyone considering finance with V12 to think twice. If anything goes wrong, you will be ignored, misinformed, and left to chase them on your own - while they continue to pursue payments, regardless of the impact on your wellbeing.
