What a disappointment - been using Control GX for years. Just opened a new tube and noticed that the colour doesn't go purple / black in the rinse water - now there is hardly any colour, but my hair now has a light brown / gingery tint.
The tube size has decreased by 20% as well.
How to kill off a perfectly good product. Please bring back the old formula.

The new formula is terrible!!!!!!!!!!
My hair use to turn a nice, natural dark brown now is bluish/too dark and looks absolutely fake!!!!!
I am furious!!! 0lease go back to the old formula or reintruce it parelell to the actual one.
Have you tested? All my friends are furious

JFM formula seems to have changed recently, without them changing anything about the packaging or advising customers that something changed. I have used Light Brown product for years and suddenly my new batch in May 2023 is distinctly different when you mix the two bottles. It used to have a sort-of milky brown colour, now it's more a treacle-black.... So I carried on and used it...WOW hopeless ! It doesn't work as well as it used to and seems to start stinging the skin. I am deeply suspicious that they aimed to cut costs and make a cheaper product at the same high selling price ????? So all my remaining last batch have been sent back to the Amazon seller and until I hear what the heck is going on with JFM.... No way - Not buying it any more!

Do not bother to use this product!!
It's a waste of £££ and time your hairs will turn into orange-brown to ridiculous colours!!

I used JFM beard dye and it completely disfigured my face even after a patch test.

I have a blistered face, oozing spots, completed swollen lips, chin has tripled in size and my face looks completed swollen.

I look hideous - this product should not be allowed to be sold!

I shall be taking legal advice

I used the new formula and still turned my hair colour into pink/orange colour. Looked ridiculous. I do not understand how retailers sell such a product after all those negative reviews. It sells under false pretences

Despite the claims the Z22 formula has stopped turning hair orange/ginger, don’t believe these false reviews. I used the Z22 3 days ago & the ginger tint was instant & appears to be getting more prominent with each passing day. JFM you have turned a silk purse back to a sows ear!

Hello Grey wolves problem sorted with new formula AS LONG AS YOU GET Z22 stand the box upright and Z22 is stamped into the top pretty central PS bought at boots 25% off paid £6.00 and a few pence

New formula is absolute rubbish. This was great but no longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May help previous users re the new product code Z22. I bought it last Friday At Tesco have not tried as get though.

Since they changed the formula, it does NOT work.
This will be the LAST purchase of this now shockingly bad product.

New formula is awful. Loved the old black 55 before. Now it just stain my skin and make my white hair blue!! Awful awful awful, don’t know why they do that to their customer. And they say they didn’t change the formula? Is not even the same product colour. Probably 10 times cheaper for them, won’t be buy it again

Since the reformulation the product is nowhere near as effective, and is sold in smaller packages.
Its a lose lose situation!

The Control GX shampoo does work. The results are quite natural looking and pleasing in the mirror. With its step by step process the results are easy to control and you can decide when to stop so you don´t overdoit. In order to maintain the level of dark, all you have to do is reduce the frequency of use to maybe once or twice a week. My experience: Good product, predictable results, NO side effects.

Used to use ControlGX lighter colour but it seems no longer providing light colour for blond hair. However product left not suitable for blond hair!
Discriminating anyone one blond! But still providing for dark Conor’s! Is this a racist thing !

Have been using T55 black for last 3 years which had been giving me the perfect mixed light and dark grey look exactly as there box and model portrays.
Unfortunately all changed a few months ago when my black grey became dark brown and light ginger which has totally destroyed my look and confidence.
I tried different batches and complained to Combe uk in London who acknowledged my concerns and sent me 3 tubes of different batch to try but still giving me problems although not quite as bad.
Don’t know where to turn next.

Truly awful - burnt my skin - itchy flaming burning skin. It Never used to. Also the colour does not cover grey any longer. Truly a waste of money. How this company is allowed to sell a product that burns people’s skin is beyond me. Read the other reviews. It’s common.

Tried the 'New improved ' 118ml Control GX shampoo once earlier this year and it began to turn my hair orange after previously using the old 147ml shampoo for years without any problems. Decided to buy up as many of the old 147ml formula as I could but have just taken delivery of two 118ml 'new formula' shampoos, one bought on ebay and one on Amazon, both advertised as 'old formula' 147ml but obviously are not, so have had to return them for refunds. In future I will check with the seller for reassurances that the item I am buying is the 147ml as advertised, otherwise I will send it back; probably a good idea for everyone on here to check first too. Thanks to Mr Mc Donald for pointing out that the 'Z' indicating the 'New' late 2022 rectified formula is on the top hand right of the front of the box.
