No funds, no proof, no transparency

We experienced a serious issue with a transfer where the recipient initially confirmed that the funds had not been received.

According to the company, the issue was caused by incorrect bank details. However, this has been contradicted by the receiving party. Since then, the situation has only become more concerning.

The company claims the payment was resent and is “in transit,” yet to this day no funds have been received.

More importantly, despite repeated requests, they have failed to provide any verifiable proof of payment (such as an MT103, remittance receipt, or official transfer confirmation) that would allow the transaction to be traced with the bank.

Additionally, there has been little to no meaningful response, and our requests continue to be ignored or avoided. We are effectively being denied access to basic proof that should be standard in any legitimate transaction.

This lack of transparency raises serious concerns about whether the payment was ever initiated at all.

As a result, we are now taking legal measures to resolve this matter.

We strongly advise others to exercise caution when dealing with this company.

At this stage, the issue remains unresolved , no funds, no proof, and no proper communication.

We have also repeatedly asked to be connected with someone higher up to properly resolve this issue, but those requests have been ignored. Even when we managed to get on a call and reached an agreement — where we were told that if we provided specific proof and clarification, the issue would finally be resolved — we fulfilled our part, yet they did not keep their word and nothing was delivered in return.

At this point, we are not being helped by customer support nor by any higher-level management, and there is a clear refusal to properly escalate or resolve this matter.

Sometimes, you wish you had never offered to do someone a favour !

The above review is vexatious and defamatory, and contains incorrect factual statements.

The payment concerned was made to Pakistan, where the beneficiary's bank is situated.
We never normally pay to Pakistan, but did so only due to extraordinary circumstances as a favour to the reviewer and the payment beneficiary (the reviewer's sub-contractor, who the reviewer was paying).

The beneficiary shares a name with a United Nations sanctioned terrorist, and this has caused the payment to the beneficiary to be held up first by the UK bank, and then the Pakistani Correspondent intermediary bank.

We have spent tens of hours communicating with both the payment beneficiary and the reviewer, and have provided full and complete proof of the payment and the ability for the beneficiary to fully track and trace the payment at any time.

The payment should have arrived on 18th March, and it is now 1st April, and the payment is with the Correspondent bank in Pakistan awaiting for them to pass the payment to the beneficiary's bank when they complete their anti-terrorist financing and anti-sanctions evasion checks.

We made the payment through our UK bank HSBC UK, which has an excellent track record of making international payments in super-quick and efficient time - so this delay is deeply distressing for us. But totally out of our control, and an expected part of the international payment process.

Despite what the reviewer writes, we have been in constant contact with the payment beneficiary and the reviewer.

They really care about customer and have fast support

First of all, their prices are incredibly competitive - honestly, I think they’re the cheapest option available.

I had a question because my country wasn’t listed in their system, so I contacted support. They replied within just a few hours and provided clear solutions and alternatives. Thanks to their help, I was finally able to complete the transaction without any issues.

After dealing with their support team, I truly believe a company’s success goes hand in hand with the customer service they provide. Many companies claim to have 24/7 support, big teams, or even AI-powered replies… but in reality, they just try to close tickets as fast as possible without genuinely helping.

Feels like it must be a scam but is genuinely a brilliant service.

I used this to buy a car from the opposite end of the country and it worked well....a friend had previously been scammed by another "escrow" company so I was wary but didn't want to bank transfer a large amount of money to someone I had never met either! I was reassured somewhat by the FCA regulation so gave it a go. The level of service throughout was great.....a friend of mine had viewed the car and confirmed it was genuine so I had sent a small deposit directly and had detailed this in the "contract" for transpact......next thing I know, I received a phonecall from a real person saying that I should be careful sending deposits direct as there was a good chance the sale was a scam and the car might not exist....having explained I was happy with this we went ahead with the process.....it's a little convoluted with a number of small sums being sent and received between all parties before the main sun is sent. I then got another phone call from my bank asking if I was sure the transaction was genuine....I'll be honest I did have to stop and think about this but went ahead. The transaction went perfectly and the car arrived shortly afterwards.
I'd definitely use transpact again.
(PS, this was a few years ago but truspilit won't let me put an earlier date than 2024 so ignore this)

We are still essential for protecting car purchases and car sales today, and still the vast majority of car transactions we come across today are fraudulent.

So for the genuine car transactions (and there are still a few amongst the morass of fraud) - all the more reason for both buyer and seller to fully protect their payment by using a Conditional Payment service from an FCA authorised firm.

As a lawyer

As a lawyer, until recently my firm spent thousands of pounds on PI Insurance to run our client account, as well as the headache of managing client payments.

We've eliminated that cost and headache entirely by using Transpact.com as our TPMA (Third Party managed account) - it is a great automated service for lawyers - low cost that just works easily and automatically. I wish we had discovered it earlier.

Great service at a great price

I've used Transpact as an escrow service for domain name sales for 5+ years and always found them to be superb. The support is quick and responsive.

They like to dot every "i" and cross every "t" and are sticklers for detail in terms of paperwork - but this is for everyone's benefit.

The fees are very reasonable. The website's a bit clunky but it's the service that counts.

I rented out my French Alpine holiday…

I rented out my French Alpine holiday chalet to a British family, and they wished to use Transpact.com to secure their rental deposit (I normally take a French cheque for the rental deposit - but they could not provide one).

Escrow is the perfect method for securing a rental deposit, as it protected me fully, and it protected the holidaymakers fully and securely.

Transpact.com's low price escrow service (just €3.49 each) for the €1,000 deposit was a very low price, and the whole process worked very smoothly.
The family received their deposit back in full to their bank account one day after leaving - when I released it because there was no damage.

Affordable escrow for peace of mind

Escrow is essential in business when dealing with businesses and individuals who you do not know well enough to trust with large sums of money. Basically, the money is held in escrow - by Transpact in this case - until the goods / services have been supplied, and only then is it released.

Transpact is British which is a huge plus for those living in the UK, but what is truly amazing is how low the fees are. Other escrow services charge ten times as much - and more! For just a few pounds you can safeguard financial transactions. What's not to like?

Transpact's customer service is also second to none. Very responsive and very o the ball so you know your money is safe.

This is a little known gem of a…

This is a little known gem of a service.

I used its escrow service to secure my payment in a transaction, and I am glad I did.

As a buyer, for a tiny fee I can ensure I get the goods or service i was promised or my money back.

Have also used it for selling, where for a tiny fee to guarantee I get paid 100%.

Brilliant service from the beginning

Brilliant service from the beginning. I recently completed 3 separate transactions and was told payments would be made via Transpact.

I didn’t hesitate but on 2 occasions I made errors with making payments. Colin was extremely helpful, I was quite stressed considering I was making large payments but Colin was very prompt in replying to my messages and it put me to ease.

I can only thank Transpact for their wonderful service.

Before I made my payments I did look at their reviews but it felt that people who provided negative reviews were probably due to their case and I was still quite confident of using their services. Thank you

An excellent, efficient service with great customer support at every step

My experience with Transpact was entirely positive and I recommend them to anyone looking for an efficient and properly vetted escrow service.

I was initially nervous about putting my trust into an online escrow service that I had heard little about, but my concerns were allayed once I discussed my requirements with the team. I had Transpact's rules explained to me clearly and all my questions were answered in full and with plenty of patience.

I can only imagine that the less positive comments here are from people that do not understand Transpact's legal requirement to carry out due diligence on transactions and abide by UK anti-money laundering legislation. I would be worried about using an escrow service without this level of rigour!

You have been banned from Paypal (for reasons known only to yourself and Paypal - we do not know what you did to provoke their ban).

That makes you a particularly difficult client for us.
Remember - we exist to protect your and our other clients' money.

That is exactly what we did.
We often get horrible one-star reviews from problematic customers - some of whom are real actual fraudsters trying to defraud vulnerable victims, who we frustrate with our escrow service.
And we wear these one-star reviews with pride - as it proves that we are doing our job and protecting our true clients’ money.

That is what a true escrow service does.
And we protected our customers' money in your transaction fully - so another secured customer, and another win for us.
[Shame we have to pay for it with a one-star grading via Trustpilot - but that is a failure of how Trustpilot works, and a necessary burden on a well-functioning escrow firm.]

I would highly recommend Transpact!

The design and user experience of the website need a bit of a refresh, but the service and team are absolutely brilliant!
The whole process is maybe a little bit slower than other escrow providers but that due to the authentication via your bank account, which I would argue makes it more secure while delaying things slightly.
Did I mention the incredibly low and fixed fee!? What a breath of fresh air for the domain industry where providers charge 10-20% sometimes.
I would highly recommend Transpact!

I was approached by fraudsters

I was approached by fraudsters, looking to sell me an investment.

They seemed so genuine and so reliable.

I insisted that I make payment through an escrow service, and nominated Transpact.com.

That was the last I saw or heard from the fraudsters.

I might well have lost a lot of money if I had not taken this step.
Be really careful - the scammers are so persuasive.

Such an awful experience

RESPONSE TO TRANSPACT:
I do appreciate the apology and acknowledgement of Transpact's failure in this case. That being said, regarding your statement claiming that my review statements were "incorrect and defamatory", I'm sorry but I fully disagree and am happy to provide additional context for my statements.

RE: Customer support runaround
1. You claim in your reply that you all kept me "informed repeatedly", however that is inaccurate as I was the one constantly reaching out to Colin for status updates, and when I didn't, I would hear nothing back. There was no proactive followup with me from Transpact's end.
2. Maybe it was a lack of attention to the details from Colin to my answers, but he would re-ask the same questions over and over to me (e.g. did I provide the correct payment information, stating anti-fraud hold or an anti-money laundering hold as the potential issue even though I mentioned that I had already talked to my bank and they confirmed it was not the case from their end)
3. There just was a general lack of transparency - You all could have included me on CC directly on the communications with your bank as I had requested, rather than the shell game back and forth communication where we lose a day each way due to timezones.

Looking at the facts, it sure seems like a runaround:
1. The initial transfer was supposed to have completed on 1/25/2021, but didn't complete until 2/5/2021 and only after much follow-up from my end.
2. Throughout all of that, Colin kept asking the same questions despite my explicit answers, and seemed to just be doing finger pointing at me despite the issue being on your / HSBC's end, and denying my requests to just hop on a call or joint email together with the bank.
3. The issue of the extra fee mistakenly taken out from my payment was raised on 2/5/2021, and has yet to be resolved despite multiple follow-ups from my side and same frustrating behavior of asking the same questions again and just saying the same excuse that this has never happened before.
4. According to you all, it was supposed to be resolved in a "few days" on 3/2/2021, yet that didn't happen and there were no follow-ups from your end.
5. Ultimately, it's resorted to me having to follow up numerous times again with Colin since the issue seemed to have been forgotten and there were no updates without my proactive reach out.
6. Finally got the reimbursement for the missing $25 on 5/13/21 (~4 months late). No accounting for my wasted time and effort, or accrued interest during that time.

RE: "they will take it extra fees that are not disclosed clearly" - Let me clarify that statement:
1. It was confusing to have an option in the contract for designating who was paying the fees, when in fact that person wasn't actually paying ALL of the additional fees (e.g. large payment fees which were technically disclosed on the Additional Charges subpage, but not clear in Fee Calculator price that they would be deducted from the payee side regardless of whether you set the payer to pay all fees).
2. The additional fees were not explicitly listed on the contract summary page.
3. For the verification payment that is initially required (even for the receiver), revise your email to state that it's non-refundable. The automated email states "Some banks will not allow payments below $1.00. If this is true in your case, please instead pay us $1.01, and we will repay the excess to you after receipt." That is false as I never got repayment.

RE: "Don't trust them" - None of the above reflects a trustworthy or high quality service company in my mind. A trustworthy company that puts the customer first would:
1. Try to make some effort to make things right from their side other than just blaming it on HSBC and no additional compensation for the wasted time and effort on my behalf as well. In theory, there even should even have been accrued interest for the held / delayed funds which I doubt I'll see any of.
2. Promptly taking responsibility and resolving the issue initially without subjecting the customer to the run around (e.g. transfer via other route as my SWIFT transfer to you all for the initial verification conveniently went through without any issues)
3. Be transparent - For instance, for the payment email and webpage, it'd be good to show the actual real-time status or at least explicitly mention that it may take a couple days to show up rather than making it seem like the payment transfer was truly completed.

Unfortunately, this whole experience has been utterly frustrating, disappointing, and unprofessional.

For once, we deserve a one-star review, as you have had an atrocious experience.

The payment for your sale inexplicably took 11 days to reach and clear into your bank account.
Normally the many, many such similar payments we make every day clear same day or next working-day at the latest.

Our bank still have not provided us with a reason for this totally abnormal and exceptional delay.
We still have no idea why your payment effectively disappeared for ten days !!! We suspect some bank anti-fraud or anti-money laundering delay, but we have had no confirmation whether this is so.

As you know, we paid the money out of our bank account immediately when requested, and we and you had every expectation that the payment would arrive in your bank account same day (or possibly next working day).
Not on the 11th day, without explanation, as it did.

And the payment arrived $25 short !!!
As you know, we have been corresponding without pause with our bank to get the wrongly deducted $25 reimbursed to you.
And as you know (because we kept you informed at all times), our bank (one of the world's biggest) promised to rectify the missing $25 and pay it to your account.

We had no idea that our bank (one of the world's biggest) would take 2 months to reimburse you the missing $25.
If we had known that, we would have acted differently, and paid you ourselves (given the unacceptable wait). But we did not know that our bank (one of the world's biggest) would keep you waiting 2 months for the $25 reimbursement.

Because it is our bank - who are effectively our subcontractor - who have caused this atrocious experience, we must take responsibility and accept that we have failed horribly on this occasion.

I can only apologise that you were kept waiting ten days for your payment (which is totally outside our normal experience), and then kept waiting two months for the final $25 due to you.

I am really sorry that you have experienced these two unacceptable delays in our service.
I apologise.

We would ask that you edit your review to remove the incorrect and defamatory statement that we take extra fees - we have proved to you that we do not - we spent many hours phoning and corresponding with our bank to ensure that you were paid in full. We never, ever charge extra fees - our fees are clear, low and transparent, and all shown on our website.

We would also ask that you edit your review to remove the incorrect and defamatory statement that we cannot be trusted.
We never gave you 'the ring around' ever.
As you know, we kept you informed repeatedly.
You understandably became impatient and upset when you did not receive your missing $25, but we were corresponding with you during that time repeatedly and constantly - it was just that we were being told by our bank that they were about to pay you - and they out of our control took 2 months to do so.

Customer security and trust (and anti-money laundering) are the pillars our business is built on, around which everything we do operates.

UPDATE for Additional Information on 8th June 2021:

An incorrect impression of our service may be reached by reading the reviewer's complaint (even after amending).
To clear up any misunderstanding, please take note of the following points:

a) We contacted Dave on 25th January 2021 when payment was made, 27th January 2021, 28th January 2021 (twice), Friday 29th January 2021, Monday 1st February 2021, 2nd February 2021, 3rd February 2021 (twice), 4th February 2021 (three times).
So we contacted and communicated with Dave every working day (sometimes multiple times) until his payment arrived on 5th February 2021 (except the first day after we made payment, when the problem was not yet reported).
Dave's review certainly does not give this impression.

The $25 shortfall in the payment then became apparent due to our bank, and we were promised by our bank (one of the world's largest) that it would make good the shortfall - which despite our best efforts it then failed to do for 3 month - despite repeatedly telling us in writing that the $25 shortfall was going to be paid to Dave.
We corresponded with Dave 37 times during this period, on average once every 3 calendar days. We were proactive, and not reactive - but we were let down by our supplier (the bank).

b) We are absolutely forbidden by our bank from revealing contact details of their staff to our customers. Dave demanded this - but it was not within our power or our gift to provide these details to Dave.

c) Our fees are clearly shown on our website and depend on future payments that our customers choose to make. Given that the amount and direction of payments are within our customers' hands, we cannot provide the information Dave asks for in his review - as that would be inaccurate in some cases. Instead, we provide our actual costs - clear to all.

d) Dave is wrong in stating that we cannot be trusted.
We proved to Dave that we can be trusted, as he received his payment in full (eventually).
We accept that he received an atrocious service, as due to our bank’s failure he had to wait 11 days to receive his payment instead of the 1 day or sooner virtually all of our similar payments take to reach their destination.
And that for some (still unknown) reason, his payment arrived $25 short.
But Dave did receive the missing $25 in full - albeit this took a very long time due to our bank repeatedly and unexpectedly failing to meet their written commitment.

Dave's case is an example where even where Dave suffered unexpected and inexplicable delays and therefore an atrocious customer experience, our firm proved its trust to ensure full payment was made.
