Touchbistro is a scam. Despite canceling in writing they have continued to charge my business account. Do not sign up with them. You've been warned.

My cafe lost so much money with Touch Bistro's POS system. The equipment was slow and cumbersome and we had several negative reviews because of slow service that we were powerless to do anything about. Also, most days the POS froze and it would freeze several times a day so I was on the phone with them all the time with troubleshooting. My stress level was through the roof. I finally was able to switch companies after my contract with them ended. There hasn't been one issue since switching.

TouchBistro recently switched to web only reports. Something happened to their servers, I haven't been able to access our data for over 5 hours. If you can't provide 100% uptime give us an off-line way to access our data!

If I could give it a negative review I would believe me. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! We tried it for 3 days. We waited over an hour just getting someone to answer on technical support!! Then we I tried to cancel it. They have this cheesy no cancellation contract so that’s how they “retain” customers. When I contacted them to cancel and told them of our experience they said “ that’s what our over 15,000 customers deal with all the time. No mobile app ( they said that had it). You have to manually figure out your close out for the day. So if you have multiple people doing it. Good luck with that. There is no training period to see if it actually works for your restaurant, you have to sign a contract to get the equipment. So BEWARE!!!! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY! They are LIARS AND CHEATS! The only way they can stay in business is this no cancellation contract. That’s it!!!
Problem is really with there payment processing thru " pay rix " , we set our pre authorization at $15 . However very often it will pre authorize a customer card for a random amount, that leads to customers complaints and bad reviews to our business. Have had repeated conversation with touch bistro about this , went thru there " different levels ' of support,and nothing has changed, we started with them in Sept of 2024 , and of Sept of 2025 still have exactly the same issue, just be aware , you will deal with customer complaints
POS system was marginal to start, but the new updates have made this system practically unusable, real time reporting is non existent. to create and publish menu items now take many more steps than our prior experience. If you're looking for a bona fide POS with real time reporting, revenue management, labor percentage I'd look elsewhere.

TouchBistro Cloud Migration – A Complete Disaster for Restaurant Owners
I’ve been using TouchBistro for years, but their recent migration to the cloud has been an absolute nightmare. What should have been a seamless upgrade has completely disrupted our operations.
Since the migration:
Staff members were locked out, requiring all new passcodes.
Taxes were not properly transferred—many items had no tax assigned at all.
Menu items are printing to random printers, including our front register, causing confusion during service.
Items from seven years ago suddenly reappeared on our live menu.
Updates now require multiple steps—you have to publish changes, then manually sync on each POS terminal. It’s exhausting.
This was all rolled out right before a long weekend, showing no understanding of how restaurant businesses operate under pressure. We've spent hours on the phone with support, often speaking with reps who are difficult to understand and offer little actual help. Issues get passed around with no resolution.
On top of all that, there's a serious privacy flaw: staff members can view total gross sales from all closed bills—not just their own shift reports. This is unacceptable and opens the door for internal issues.
This POS system has gone from difficult to nearly unusable. It’s invasive, glitchy, and poorly supported. I strongly recommend against using TouchBistro, especially after this cloud migration. It has cost us time, energy, and revenue—and the problems keep piling up.
Garbage system. Always having to trouble shoot why their system does not work. No notifications for firmware updates, machines just stop processing, then you know it needs update. Everytime Apple Ios updates be sure it will stop working. Be ready to spend lots and lots of time on the phone to not get your problems solved. I call it the 15 steps to do anything, nothing is fluid. Lots and lots of apps to use this POS. None of them are friendly for you or your customer. They sell gift cards digitally, then for physical cards you need another company. The company they use Egift cards will only give you the liabilities if you ask for them and checking a balance is a nightmare. Processing is different for online ordering than POS, Chase bank for POS. Chase makes it really hard to get your statements. Updates to system in the middle of your work flow always during the most busy times. If you are looking for Something with lots of seperate parts, inconsistency, lots of down time that will cost you lots of man hours and business. This is the pile of junk you are looking for!

We've been sent an email saying that our till will not work between 4am and 5.30am EST on Monday, but we're in the UK so that is between 8am and 9.30, one of our busiest times as a cafe. If you're not going to consider your international customers when making decisions like this don't take our money. I will be leaving ASAP, what a joke.

We have terminated contract with touch bistro after 24 months of use. The termination process was so complicated and took us too much time and works. After 2 months of end, I revived an outstanding bill with $214. As we figured out all the outstanding before termination, now I don’t know how why the new bills is till coming. When I gave them a call, they just said they did not have the info and asked for waiting from their accountant. It was so frustrating to deal with TouchBistro. Now, the billing is coming and notice the late payment can cause the credit report. We’d loved to support Canadian company but this company is not worthy the try.
Updated: I was recently contacted by an agent regarding the ongoing billing issue. I was informed that there is a sub-contract tied to additional services—specifically, the loyalty program and e-gift cards—which was auto-renewed shortly before I initiated the termination process.
If this is the case, I would like to understand why the main license contract was allowed to be terminated while this sub-contract remained active. As it stands now, the primary contract has been fully terminated, yet the charges for the additional services continue. Without an active license or hardware, there is no practical way to utilize these add-ons, making the continued billing unreasonable.
I must express my frustration with how difficult it has been to cancel the service in a professional manner. We were a loyal client for two years and never missed a payment. However, the cancellation process took over two months to complete, and now I’m being asked to pay for a contract that no longer aligns with our operational setup.
I kindly request a thorough review of this matter and a clear resolution. We should not be held liable for charges associated with services we are unable to use.

I’ve had an absolutely terrible experience! So many promises and HUGELY under delivered. I was promised a tech to do the install and was exceptionally clear that I would not go with a company if I had to do the install myself as I am too busy and not tech savvy! It’s been months since I signed the contract and it’s still not installed. The wires and sizes required as well as needing a ladder to do this job is beyond my scope! No technician company’s will do touch bistros install. They will lie to you to get you in a CONTRACT. DONT DO IT!!!

It's Total Junk. It locks up for no reason. Today, a tab worth $1545.00 got locked, and we couldn't open it. So, we couldn't split the payments for the guests. After holding the guest for 30 minutes while trying to contact tech support, the guests got up and left. I am still holding for tech support.

My bar got broken into. All the equipment was stolen. TouchBistro told me I had to buy all new equipment. I never got the system up and running. I tried to cancel, and I was told someone would call me in a couple days. I never got a phone call back. They continued to charge me every month. I called every month to follow up and I got the same response. I disputed 3 months of charges on my credit card and they keep charging me. The credit card company told me to keep disputing it.

They charged me twice for an order that wasn't sent to the restaurant. I've contacted them 20+ times and they've refused to contact the restaurant. Their customer support is absolutely useless and the phone number they provided doesn't work.

Their Customer service is excellent, customers are well taken care of. Happy with the hardware and services and would refer them to others in the future.

The latest update put reports on cloud and I can no longer print reports from the POS. I must email reports and print them from my computer printer at home now. Dates chosen do not print on the report so I don't know what the numbers represent. You can't choose times to print so I am not sure I am getting the correct numbers. It takes me a lot longer now to do my job. It is extremely slow and has made things more difficult for my bartenders. They don't like it now. I am looking for a new POS after having it for six years.
I've been through a few POS systems in my time and TouchBistro has by far been our favourite. It's not only user friendly but it's no longer stressful to have to make updates to our system. Having our system on an ipad has truly been a game changer and we've had the least amount of POS issues we've had in years.
Great system, easy to use, easy to maneuver, best system out there for restaurants.

The absolute worst company. I sent a request 44 days ago to cancel my account. I have called every week and sent multiple emails. NO ONE has contacted me and no one can help me. The customer service is the worst in the industry. Go with toast, they’re cheaper, charge less for credit card uses and you can actually get someone to speak to you. 44 days! I can’t believe this is acceptable for their company.
