Pray you they dont sell you a pig!

Buying the van was easy. Within 2 weeks I was able to collect. Thats unfortunately where all the Pro's end.

At handover they handed me a warranty policy, since they don’t have their own workshop. The 6 months "gold" warranty covers very little. If I'd have seen that before purchase, I'd have opted for a garage that can handle warranties themselves. I carried on with a benefit of the doubt.

After driving less than a week, I had a clutch pedal that stuck down, and noticed someone had removed a roof rack leaving the holes in the roof exposed, causing the backs of the seats to grow mould. These are issues that should have been picked up on vehicle prep. After speaking with the garage back and forth, I managed to get the caps for the roof rack 2 months later. The sticking clutch was not something the garage would help with.

After 3 months of ownership the DPF light came on. Seeing this excluded in the warranty document I called them up to see if they would support. Surprise surprise they would not. I paid out of my own pocket for a regeneration and oil change. This fixed the issue for another 2 months. On the 5th month the light came back and Time Motors have advised that they will not be supporting the repair. For a £15K, 5 year old van that’s covered less than 10K in my ownership, I think this is appalling. Why would I have to foot the £1200+ bill?

It's worth pointing out the "Gold" 6 month warranty they are giving has a claim limit of £500. Which if you know much about cars/vans will cover very little. More like comedy gold...

All in all, if you get a van through these guys and you don’t have any issues. You're going to have a 5 star experience. If you do find yourself with a problematic van, unfortunately your going to receive the 1 star treatment.

Whilst I understand your frustration I have to disagree with your comments.

The 6 months Gold warranty is the most comprehensive commercial warranty available on the market today, we use an independent company called Autoprotect.

A return to base warranty is restrictive as you would have to bring the vehicle back to us if you have a problem, if you are local this is fine but if you are further afield it’s not convenient, which is why we chose this option as it provides flexibility for customers to make their own choice.

There are certain components which are not covered as specified by the warranty and in the booklet we supplied. The DPF is classed as a wear item and is also excluded for vehicles still under manufacturer’s warranty, so this is not unique to us or our warranty provider.

The claim limit is £500 per claim with unlimited claims for the duration of cover, this would typically cover most issues. You also have the option to upgrade the claim limit to £1000, £2000 or the purchase price of the vehicle at an additional cost.

When we spoke on the phone you advised the garage carried out static regen and also had to do an oil change, as per discussion the oil change would only be done from failed attempts of a regeneration. This would indicate the vehicle was not driven in accordance to the manufacturers guidelines and resulted in a blocked DPF.

We offered to provide support by allowing our garage to diagnose the vehicle at no cost to yourself to confirm the fault and provided alternative cleaning solutions as a static regeneration is not always the best option.

We also offered to pass our trade discounts to you for parts and labour if required.

Both of these options were refused and your expectation was for us to cover the entirety of the bill for a vehicle you have owned for 5 ½ months and travelled approximately 8,000 miles in.

Honest company

My experience of buying a second hand van from Time Motors was great. They accommodated me after hours due to the distance I travelled getting stuck in traffic. I experienced problems with the van within the first couple of days of collecting and the warranty didn’t cover suspension arms however Time motors paid our local garage to fix the problem. Efficient and great communication. I would recommend even after experiencing problems.

Time Motors have left me in £3055.46 in debt

Time Motors have left me in £3055.46 worth of debt! Beware - there is no warranty cover!

On 23rd March 2023, I bought a Mercedes Sprinter from this company that supposedly provides 12 months ‘gold’ warranty.

I travelled from Cornwall to collect the van. They were fully aware of this and the fact that I wanted all details of the van to be given accurately as it was such a long journey.

I arrived and they took me for a run-through of the vehicle. Everything seemed to be very honest - a few minor tiny scratches on the bumper and rear. The van was working as they described so I went ahead and bought it for the asking price of £25,182.

I drove it off the forecourt and got on to the motor way. 10 minutes in, I turned the heater on and it wasn’t blowing hot air. A side lamp fault came on exactly the same time. I rang the garage and drove back immediately. I explained the problem to the salesman, who jumped in the van said, “The engine just needs to be warmed up for them to work.”

By this point, I had been driving for 30 minutes - I explained this to the salesman, so he drove the van to a garage and tried to find the fault.

2 hours of waiting later, he come back and said, “It needs a new stepper motor - should be an hours labour to fix. As for the lamp, there seems to be a fault so if you take the van to your local garage and get it fixed, we will cover it. I have written down all details.”

Happy with the agreement, I drove 5 hours home - a massive regret. I now wish I had never trusted what he had told me.

On the way home, the wipers wouldn’t turn off at all and no one at Time Motors answered the phone because it was later in the evening.

Once I arrived home, I went to my local Mercedes dealer. I received a quote for the work that the salesman had told me needed to be done. I rang the salesman with the quote, and got very rude and basically told me that I can’t use this garage, I need for find somewhere cheaper because they can’t cover the bill.

In the end, Mercedes themselves couldn’t fix the fault. It needed further diagnostic testing by an electronic specialist. At this point, I’m absolutely terrified as I’m losing days of work and I’m left with a £547.20 bill from the Mercedes dealership for labour - a cost which the salesman and Time Motors refused to cover, despite telling me to take the van to a garage and they would reimburse me.

48 hours of owning the van, I opened the driver door and the side wing had become loose. I looked under the door and noticed a huge crack in the door with dents. The side wing had been sprayed and put back together with a broken bracket! There was no sign of this damage in any of the van’s history or paperwork, or mentioned when purchasing the van. I rang Time Motors again and they ignored my phone calls continuously until the following day.

When I finally got through, I explained the issue and asked about the 12 month ‘gold’ warranty that the van was advertised as coming with. The salesman said, “What do you expect in van that’s done 80 thousand miles? You can either bring the van back so we can fix it all or take it to local, responsibly priced garage and we will cover it.”

So, again, I believed them and shopped around, bearing in mind I’m taking days off work now to get the van sorted. I finally found a local garage that was responsibly priced and got all the issues resolved. It has taken over 2 months to get it all sorted!

The van needed the following:

- Find and fix wiring issue and diagnose and fit new stepper motor in dash then reprogramme the cabin mixer tap then replace the wiper stalk

- calibrate then remove damaged wing and repair then repair paint work

- fit wing and straighten brackets

- Re fit door cards that had become loose

- CONTROL UNIT/Wiper Stalk

- Cabine Stepper Motor MA000

- Paint Supplies

- Plus labour costs

I called Time Motors with the final invoice and they ignored me until I had called 20 times. The final bill was £2,508.62 and they have refused to pay any money towards it.
They said that the managers have decided not to provide any payment towards the van, despite already agreeing to on the phone and in person.

Time Motors have left me in a total debt of £3,055.46.

I now have no choice but to seek legal advise and put a small claims case against this company. I have also notified a bailiff company. It is disgusting what financial state they have left me in. Avoid this company at all costs!

We wish to express our disappointment that the situation has escalated to this point, as we made numerous attempts to resolve the issue you encountered.

From the beginning, we acknowledged the fault with the heater and took immediate steps to address it. Unfortunately, we couldn't supply the part on the same day given how late in the evening it was. Our initial offer was to keep the vehicle on-site and provide a courtesy vehicle while we rectified the problems and deliver it back to you once resolved. However, this was declined by yourself.

We clearly communicated our willingness to cover the cost of the required part and 2 hours of labour to rectify the issue, as it had already been diagnosed by our garage. In return, we only requested an estimate to authorise the repair.

However, things took a turn when we received a call from your chosen garage, asking us to pay £1300 for 15 hours of diagnostic work without having resolved the issue and without obtaining our authorisation beforehand. This situation was unexpected and not aligned with our previous agreement.

The cost of repair would have been no more than £350 if we carried this out at our garage, and we were prepared to pay your garage up to £500.

At this point, we asked you to bring the vehicle back to us for repair. However, you insisted on finding another garage to undertake the repairs. Nonetheless, we advised again about the importance of obtaining an estimate before authorising any further work.

We prioritise transparency and open communication with our customers. We firmly believe that obtaining an estimate allows both parties to have a clear understanding of the expected costs and scope of work involved. Without an estimate, it becomes difficult to assess the reasonableness of the bill presented.

We were taken aback after our previous conversation when we received a call from you, informing us that you had authorised the garage to carry out repairs totalling £3055.46. Upon further investigation into the reasons behind such a high cost, it became apparent that the second garage had rectified the mistakes made by the initial garage. It is important to note that there was no damage to the vehicle when it was collected on-site. However, the invoice provided detailed repairs to paint a wing, straighten brackets, refit door cards, and replace a wiper stalk.

We are concerned about the discrepancy between the initial condition of the vehicle and the extent of repairs outlined in the invoice.

We genuinely want to resolve this matter and find a satisfactory solution. We value your business and are committed to finding a fair and reasonable resolution to this problem.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed, and we will do our best to find a mutually agreeable solution.

I’ve bought a number of cars and vans…

I’ve bought a number of cars and vans from Time Motors over the last few years, service has always been excellent and they also offered me very fair part exchange terms. The vehicles have proved reliable and I’ve been fortunate in not having to make any warranty claims. I’ve referred a number of friends and family members to Time Motors, decent people to do business with!

Fantastic service from start to finish

I went to collect my van on the hottest day of the year and the guys at Time Motors were considerate enough to leave my transit in the shade and put the air con on whilst doing the handover. Hands down the best buying experience I've had, will definitely be recommending them to my friends in the trade.

Was really struggling to find a van for…

Was really struggling to find a van for my new dog walking business that suited my budget. Zed and Ryan couldn’t have been more helpful to find me the perfect vehicle, under my budget and even managed to get a me a better finance deal than my broker could. Couldn’t be more happy with my new bipper. Thanks guys! X

They truly went above and beyond

Let me start by admitting I have a distrust of dealers - forgive me. It always seems they are trying to screw you in some way.

We bought a van to convert into a camper from Time Motors just after they opened from the Covid-19 shutdown. We dropped in with little notice but they found the time to answer our (many) questions even though they were busy.

The first thing I’d say is their advert was accurate, the van was in good condition and at a great price. Previously we looked at many vans and learned that ‘minor wear and tear’ is code for “bashed to hell and treated like a skip” ;)

There were a few things on the van we wanted resolving. They patiently went over each one, even taking us and the van to a mechanic across the road to discuss. There were seven points including the MOT and service recorded on the invoice which they promised to deal with…

I expected to be messed about. However, to my amazement they did everything agreed and more - they truly went above and beyond. I’m blown away!

Zed was friendly and approachable throughout and I’d recommend them to anyone.

Got my VW Caddy from Time Motors as I…

Got my VW Caddy from Time Motors as I have been looking for a while.
Dealt with a member of Staff called Ben who was extremely helpful through out the whole process and the Caddy is a welcome addition to our fleet.
Will be using Time Motors again when looking for another van and would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal on a new vehicle.

Great first van buying experience

Great first van buying experience. When buying a car, I normally shy away from pushy car dealerships and opt for private sales. I messaged Time Motors about a van that I liked the look of. From first contact, Ben communicated and facilitated an easy and smooth transaction from start to finish. There were a couple of issues after I’d driven away. But Ben sorted them out post haste. I would fully recommend this dealer.

Excellent service from the guys here

Excellent service from the guys here. No pressure sales like other places, told them what i was after got a few emails of Van's I might like went down and got treated with respect. Didn't leave a deposit and wasnt pressured to leave one and came back a few days later to sort payments out. Highly recommend this place.
