I had a very disappointing experience with Old Oak Collective. I paid a deposit for a room after being clearly assured that it would be fully refundable if I decided not to proceed. Withi... Zobacz więcej

I lived here for 6 months and honestly…
I lived here for 6 months and honestly it’s super run down. The rooms are TINY. And for London with the prices they are now, you can get something better a little bit further here and there.
If you’re considering moving here and you’re super lonely and don’t care about space or quality then it’s a good place to mix with people.
I have lived in the Collective Canary…
I have lived in the Collective Canary Wharf for about 6 months now. Much as the area is nice and the building has potential, the management is terrible, treats the tenants' complaints in an offhand manner and just ignores requests. I complained that the floor and tables in the restaurant area are filthy (dust bunnies between the table, plenty of hair and crumbs everywhere where the huge industrial vacuum couldn't reach) and my complaint was just removed and nothing was done about it long term. I complained that the sockets in the coworking space tables were broken, to the point that they were making cracking noises and broke my laptop charger, and no one has done anything about it. Just ignoring it while it could be a safety (fire hazard.) The staff is mostly young and doesn't care, and with the large rotation, no one takes ownership or responsibility for incidents like the ones mentioned above. The rooms are nice but really tiny, the bathroom is so small you can't use the tiny sink (which is smaller than a plate!) with the door closed. It's more symbolic than anything else. The shared areas (gym, pool) were nice but were mostly closed during the lockdown, and no adjustments in the rent have been made to reflect the change in facilities.
I have lived here since January 2020
I have lived here since January 2020. The place is great and the staff is very helpful and very kind. The problem that everyone is facing this year is of course connected with Covid-19, which imposes a lot of restrictions on shared spaces, one of the assets of The Collective in normal times. However, one has to bear in mind that this is an exceptional situation and, hopefully, it will change in some time from now. That is why I decided to renovate my contract for another year. My only complaint is about other members that did not respect the simple social-distancing rules and made the Covid experience even harder. However, the management has started to take action on this minority and things are getting better.
I stayed here for 6 months
I stayed here for 6 months. Pool and the daily events are their positives but we couldn't utilise much during the stay because of lockdown. Capacity limits and booking system were a disaster. Rooms are really small and with all the benefits of shared spaces being cut off, I was paying a lot of rent just because of the contract. Do not get fooled by the marketing and pictures they put up on the website. Co-living is not for everyone especially if the rooms are really small and shared spaces have capacity limits and booking system. Lesson learnt
Have lived here for around 8 months.
Have lived here for around 8 months.
The people staying here are amazing but the staff are awful.
Extremely rude and unhelpful. Member support never helps. The sales pitch you get on the way in is very different to what it's actually like when you get in.
Do not believe the sales rep! Ask real members what it's like before you buy.

Tiny flat, social aspect has potential, bad experience with The Collective management
I lived at The Collective Old Oak for six months and the COVID-19 lockdowns started a few weeks after I moved in.
The contract said "this document is not intended to create a landlord and tenant relationship" even though it clearly was a tenancy agreement. Upon investigating this due to some issues that arose I discovered that the agreement is most likely an Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreement (I'm not a legal expert but I was considering taking legal advice).
The studio flat itself is tiny. The bathroom in particular was frustrating. Showering was difficult as there's no space to move around. When sitting on the toilet I was also right up to the sink.
The communal facilities are the selling point of this accommodation but due to COVID-19 I didn't get to experience this to its potential. There were regular and diverse events which they continued to provide remotely.
On two different occasions throughout the lockdown maintenance contractors were sent for non-essential work. I asked repeatedly why this was essential and got no response. On the second occasion the dates didn't work well for me so I asked to find a more suitable time. The response was slow and I was panicking the maintenance contractors would come whilst I'm in the middle of an important meeting. We did just about manage to agree a more suitable time but that message wasn't passed on to the contractors who let themselves into my home whilst I was in the middle of an appointment with my doctor. They should not have entered my home without my permission -- this is illegal. The Collective did give me a kind of apology.
I moved out 14 days ago and still haven't received my deposit (they responded to my email today and said I'll have the money back next week).
) meine Kosten erstattet. Beim nächsten Londontrip werde ich direkt dort buchen!
