Ordered a book on the 10th of April, still has not arrived!

Wishing I read the reviews before I ordered from this company now. It also says a lot that majority of the reviews are bad - but they do not respond to any of them.

Shop around if you can first and maybe use them as your last resort!!

I have ordered three books on the 20th of March, 2 books arrived within the next two days ( from a different seller) the third book which was from this company never arrived. I emailed them to complain l their excuse was check with your local post office cuz it might b there and post man forgot to leave a note. I beg you pardon??? I have been asking for refund and again they sent me an email to check with post office. I don’t know why Amazon did not shut down this seller. I bet is a scammer as I was reading reviews most people did not get their order or did not refund them.
My mistake was I didn’t not check the reviews before ordering as my daughter did it.
Never go near this company.

I have had a few books from these people now and out of FOUR items something has gone wrong with THREE of them. They use Herpes - perhaps the worst courier company I have ever had to deal with. Their drivers will simply dump an item anywhere rather than knock next door to see if it can be left safely. Today they left a VERY expensive book in a cardboard container on wet paving stones - luckily it wasn't raining. But we have even had them push a slip through the letter box saying an item has been left in our garage when the garage door was LOCKED!!! Needless to say that item never arrived.

And then there was the book my wife ordered for me - in stock apparently, which never arrived. When challenged as to how long delivery of this "in stock" item would take the reply was that it actually wasn't available any longer and that they had "forgotten" to inform us of that fact. No refund had been forthcoming however until my wife pointed out that she did not expect to pay for something she had not received.

So are they dishonest too? You decide...

Books from this company are never on time and I once received a book with a ripped dust jacket. In all fairness they gave me a full refund but that's NOT the point.

And when their delivery is late they then expect you to chase up where the item is with your "local sorting office"... forgive me if I am being a little stupid but I thought paying for delivery meant it would arrive at your home, not entail chasing couriers etc. In short I fail to see why, having paid for delivery I am expected to do their job for them.

And finally, given that I have already had to chase TheBook Depository to find out where my order is because it has gone over the advised delivery date I expect their replies to be a little more appropriate instead of simply self righteous.

NOT GOOD - BUY ELSEWHERE.

Det positive: Virksomheden er reel nok. De leverer med gratis fragt, og ordrerne ekspederes pænt hurtigt. Og varen er forsvarligt pakket ind i en boblekuvert.

Det negative: Der er ingen trackingnummer på leveringen, så du har ikke mulighed for at følge varen når først den er afsendt. Derudover holder den lovede leveringstid ikke. Min bog skulle komme inden for 4-8 hverdage (sendt fra UK), men jeg modtog den først på den 12. hverdag. Om det er virksomhedens eller det danske postvæsens skyld, er svært at sige.

Om jeg vil anbefale Thebookdepository afhænger af forskellige ting. Jeg købte min bog dér fordi jeg ikke kunne finde den på andre webshops. Ellers havde jeg nok valgt Saxo eller et andet dansk sted, hvor der godt nok er fragtpris, men hvor man kan tracke varen undervejs.

I had had very good experiences over several months until one day I realised my most recent order was not being sent. I checked online to discover it had been cancelled and refunded. Note TBD had not contacted me.
I complained and asked for an explanation. After a fruitless exchange of emails, mostly computer generated from TBD showing a total lack of personal touch I was finally informed I was a "Security Risk". In 2019 that is surely a very damning description. Was I considered a potential terrorist. My attempts to obtain elucidation failed the CG reply system and I withdrew to seek legal advice.
I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience with this company?

Jeg bestilte to bøger fredag d. 23 november 2018. Jeg har idag forsat ikke modtaget min pakke. Jeg fik en besked fra dem om at pakken var blevet sendt d. 28 november og der vil gå 4-8 arbejdsdage før levering skete, dvs. levering skulle senest ske mandag d. 10/12.

Jeg har været i kontakt med deres kundeservice, men fik afvide at de ikke har noget forsendelsesnummer på deres gratis leveringer - det skal dog hertil bemærkes at det ikke er en mulighed at vælge en anden levering.

Jeg var igen i kontrakt med kundeservice som efter utallige korrespondancer fandt en løsning på problemet og kunne tilbyde mig enten at få pengene retur eller få fremsendt en ny ordre. Men da det er en julegave vil jeg ikke løbe risikoen for det ikke når frem inden, da de har problemer med leveringen. Jeg har derfor fået mine penge refunderet.

Delivered *half* a book on one order, the other order never showed up at all. Customer service is manned by idiots who are very communicative, but don't actually help.

Lack of communication is the main issue. I purchased a birthday present which didn't arrive and Amazon contacted me rather than Book Depository itself. No time to purchase elsewhere. I have used this company before but it now seems to be in decline. I would strongly advise using another seller as Book Depository do not fulfil their obligations and just don't seem to care. Very shoddy business practice and it wouldn't have been difficult for Book Depository to inform me that they were unable to deliver item.

This is the third time I have used them and the last time. On book turned up really quickly, then the second took weeks, I ordered a book for Christmas with them saying two days to despatch it's been a week and nothing. I emailed the help desk and I've heard nothing, to say this company is owned by Amazon is a slur on their good name, as they have been brillant. Do not use these people! I will not be using them again!

Prompt delivery, a fair price and book in perfect condition.

Always well priced, items arrive in good condition. My only negative is that delivery could be faster. If I need a product quick I usually pay slightly more and order elsewhere. But if your not in a rush then this company is great

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from thebookdepository over the last year or so and I've only experienced one issue in that time. An order went missing and they ordered a replacement for me. Customer service was great and they quickly got back to me each time I emailed them.

I'm a collector, so I look for quality and they have never disappointing me yet.

Great job guys. I will continue to use your services in the future.

I ordered 4 'That's not my' books for my niece from thebookdepository, as they were so much cheaper than practically all other retailers. This was my first order, and I was a little concerned as I'd seen some shady reviews for this company online. Nevertheless, I decided to go ahead with the order. The books were shipped individually, but I didn't mind that so much, as UK delivery is free (not sure on other countries). Delivery was slow, but again, I was expecting this, and didn't need them in any sort of rush, so didn't mind too much. One thing I liked is that you get email notifications letting you know once each item is despatched, to allow you to keep a track of any expected deliveries. 3 books arrived with no problems, and were packaged really well to prevent any damage in transit.I realised about 6 weeks after ordering that although I'd had notification of dispatch of the fourth and final book, I hadn't received it. I dropped them a message via their website, and someone got back to me rather promptly to apologise and to let me know that they'd dispatched another copy, this was received shortly afterwards.

Overall I've had a very good service from this company, not the fastest, or most efficient, but very cheap and convenient. If you're in a rush and need an item for a date, then don't risk it, but if you have enough time (and you're from the UK) give them a go.

I bought a book in good faith. When I received it I looked at the bar code on the back and found they were selling the book at 4 times the price shown.
When I complained I was told that it depends on their supplier.

I have used The Book Depository many, many times and find their range covers everything I have ever needed, the website easy to navigate and prices the best around.

I had one issue with a book coming late and I did have to contact them regarding it, but following this, I had plenty of communication from them regarding the whereabouts and time frame I was to expect. Plus they offered 10% off my next order by way of apology.

PLUS, with every order you get a really cute little card bookmark. Really sweet addition.

Have only recently come across The Book Depository and price-wise they are very competitive. I had no issues whatsoever with dispatch/delivery and would certainly use again.

Last Monday (October the 17th), I ordered two colouring books from Book Depository. Despite the fact that they were having difficulties obtaining my order from their suppliers they did not contact me until I contacted them wondering why my order was taking so long to get dispatched. Now, it's been a week and I am still waiting for this order to be dispatched. I cannot actually believe, that not one of my colouring books are in stock. Not one?

It's also quite frustrating to see that this company, who I have been a loyal customer to since about 2011, has not changed the information on their website to reflect on this particular problem. The information still points out that the books are available and that they will be shipped within 2 business days. It is a week now, you have taken my money, and have not even given me a new timeframe when I can expect my books. Unfortunately, I have decided that this will be last and final purchase from Book Depository. I use to love Book Depository, but one bad experience with a company can really make you change your mind. I hope to see my orders dispatched by Monday now. While I do understand that these things can happen, I have seen other people go through the same issues, so I thought I would add my concerns.

I'am not sure where all the negative reviews came from. I've been ordering from the book depository for 4 years now and they've always delivered. Books are so much cheaper than at other stores and delivery is free, what else can you ask for?
