Terrible company and service. Despite multiple unanswered calls throughout the year resulting in zero support, again when it has came to cancelling my membership, after multiple emails and over 5 phone calls to attempt to cancel, they have taken their membership fees without consent. If you pay your money- DONT expect any service. DO NOT USE.

After paying for a membership they did not send the membership number. They don't answer the phone or emails. It is a Scam

The British Landlord Association is a scam. Once signed up they ignored cancellation. They keep taking money for membership whether I want to continue or not. And their membership comes with zero benefits and advice. If I need anything I have to pay extra even for document template that can be downloaded from Internet for free.

If only I had seen these reviews before I joined, I would never have joined this company. For me this is serious as I am a first time landlord and need help and advice. Not once have my emails been replied to and I can’t get into my account, it keeps reading “error”. What are the issues with this business, will someone please respond from this business? A complete waste of money. At the very least offer a refund!

Scam business. They took a years membership from my bank account after I asked for my account to cancelled. They don't respond to emails, are impossible to get hold of on the phone and there's nowhere within the site to cancel a membership. I'll be rocking up to offices with a payment demand unless they refund me the money they took and I'll be complaining to the financial Ombudsman. Avoid at all costs.

Dont bother! Just paid £69.99 and cant even get into an account, tried calling no answer, emailed, no reply and tried their online contact form, not working! Avoid this company at all costs!

This organisation should be avoided. As with many reviews here, I have found it impossible to get any response from this organisation. I regret paying to join as I think it may be a scam setup. I paid about £80 for tenant checks around a month ago and although the separate company who does the checks performed their role, and completed the checks around 3 weeks ago, the BLA have gone completely offline and have not sent the results. Hopeless bunch. From my experience it seems they are operating under false pretences. I see many of the reviews on this site are either reflecting exactly my experience. Very dodgy, steer well clear of this bunch. I am considering a small claims action.

I am beginning to think that the BLA is a scam. Despite sending emails and trying to call (no one answers and the message box is full) I am still waiting for a reply to my query.
My advice to others is avoid this company and join the NRLA

Absolutely useless. Similar to another review here I purchased 2 tenant credit / reference checks. It took numerous phone messages and emails to actually get these initiated now I am having to continuously chase the full results on the second check. You can't get to speak to anyone by phone - clearly no one actually is allocated phone duty and the same in respect of return contact, basically they have a policy of not communicating via phone calls, added to ignoring emails; all the hallmarks of a total cowboy outfit. Never again, will deal with the NRLA going forward.

Ordered full credit check for tenant. First of all no no one answered the phone when you need, second credit check not full, missing ccj from court record, asked to updat still nothing after 2weeks.no responding to any emails. Always need to leave voice mail and wait if someone calls back. Almost one month gone and still no full credit check completed when full information provided.

Useless company in regards to tenant referencing.
They dont answer the phone or the emails. No updates at all.
I don't even know how to apply for a refund,will probably have to go through the credit card.
