Appalling Management and Unsafe Vehicle

​I am writing this to warn potential customers about the unprofessional conduct and lack of integrity at this dealership. On 14 March 2026, I agreed to purchase a Skoda Superb (LV58PFX) strictly on the condition that several documented faults were repaired.
​A formal Job Card was created with the sales agent, Ibraheem, covering safety issues (damaged driver’s seatbelt), mechanical failures (thermostat, turbo noise, smoke), and cosmetic work. I was promised the car would be ready in 10 days.
​Nearly four weeks later, after constant delays and "missing parts," I arrived to find the car was still not repaired. The seatbelt remained a safety hazard, the thermostat was never replaced, the gearbox had developed a new shudder, and the interior was still greasy and odorous.
​When I exercised my right to reject the vehicle and request a refund—a right previously confirmed by staff—the Manager’s behavior was nothing short of disgraceful. He became physically dismissive of his own staff, used aggressive profanity (the "F-word"), and tried to claim the Job Card we signed "didn't matter." It was a blatant attempt to ignore a written agreement and push an unsatisfactory, unsafe vehicle onto a customer.
​I would like to highlight that Ibraheem (Sales) was professional and helpful throughout; it is a shame he is overshadowed by such hostile management.
​I have now formally rejected the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. I have a full evidence trail including recorded calls, WhatsApp logs, and the physical Job Card. I am escalating this matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), the FCA, and the BVRLA.

Avoid at all costs!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! They are a complete Scam. If I could give minus stars, than this would be the review to do it. Save yourself a nightmare and dont buy a car here. They sell faulty cars and then find hoop holes so you stuck in a financial contract with a heap of rubbish, having to go through Financial Ombudsman. This is one of those Car dealers that give them all a bad name! Save yourself, I wish I did!
I bought a Vaulkswagon Touran from here. On the first drive home it broke down on the motorway.. it was taken back and they said it was due to an air bubble in the fuel. A few weeks later we drive to Italy and it breaks down completely. The Italian garage said there was metalic dust in the fuel lines that all the injectors needed replacing, and the fuel fliter etc. They said there was so much damage it should be repatriated back to the uk,as it wsd a heap. It was repatriated and then TGS tried to say we'd put the wrong fuel in the car. So they could waver our consumer rights and they could charge us to fix it. Its with the Financial obudsman. We have also obtained all the reports from Italy where they have stated legally that there was no wrong fuel in the car, We have had a total nightmare and this cars has cost us thousands . Avoid this dealership they cannot be trusted, save yourself! - Run!

Please avoid

Please avoid. Repeatedly informed me that the car I purchased was taxed for long enough for me to drive it off the dealership's showroom site; I subsequently found out via DVLA that they lied and all this time I was driving my car untaxed, which could have got me in serious trouble. They denied this and persisted in telling me the car was taxed, and I had to go to the trouble of getting printed evidence from the DVLA proving them wrong. They have not followed up, despite my request to refund the costs incurred to me in having to apply for a brand new log book (which they said they would sort out when they sold the car to me - thus a second blatant lie). I am now in the process of taking up the matter with the Ombudsman.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

I purchased a vehicle from Top Gear Stoke and later had major repair work arranged and invoiced by them in January 2025, including a gearbox replacement and rear main oil seal.
Less than 9 MONTHS later, the vehicle developed a significant oil leak. I paid for two independent inspections, both of which confirmed the leak is consistent with failure of the rear main oil seal — the same part that was replaced during the January repair.
Also whilst my vehicle was in their care my vehicle NEW wheels were damaged and it was used for personal use by one of their employees in the evening (Tracker was fitted to vehicle).

Despite this evidence, Top Gear Stoke has refused to accept responsibility and has repeatedly attempted to shift liability to a third-party subcontractor they chose to use. My contract, however, was with Top Gear Stoke, not their subcontractor.

Instead of rectifying the defective repair at no cost, I was offered only a chargeable repair (in house), which is not acceptable when the issue appears to be due to defective workmanship.

Communication has been extremely poor, with long delays and a lack of meaningful engagement. I have now been forced to pursue formal action to resolve something that should have been dealt with properly under consumer law.

I would STRONGLY advise anyone considering purchasing a vehicle or having repair work carried out by Top Gear Stoke to proceed with caution, particularly when it comes to aftersales support and accountability.

I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, DO NOT USE OR PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I enquired regarding a car. I was looking at my options on finance and also whether it would be possible to buy it through my company. I was told that the finance options would be available to me tomorrow as it takes time to receive a decision. Nothing had yet been agreed upon.

I paid £200 as a reservation fee.

Fast forward 2 days later, I wanted to discuss the finance options and also having them swap out the Japanese stereo for an English stereo.

I was then told that I had placed an order on the car and was commited to buying it with no negotiations available.
They then said that the £200 reservation fee was now a deposit and completely non refundable. This is completely untrue. I received no purchase agreement, I never agreed or signed any paperwork and they claimed that it was all sent via email, which it was not. The owner then said that the terms and conditions outlined it was non refundable. I was never shown any terms and conditions, nor did I sign any. So they have lied to keep my £200.

The owner was unbelievably rude and dismissive of any concerns and was shouting at me whilst my 5 month old son was in the room with us saying that if I want my money, I should take him to court and told me to leave the dealership without even allowing me to speak or tell him of my issue and how we can best resolve it.

This is the most outrageous dealership I have ever been to, and they will be reported for placing an order without my consent, with-holding terms and conditions, with-holding my reservation fee and for unprofessional behaviour and dishonesty. They will be reported to the motoring ombudsman and trading standards and can only hope this has an effect to ensure nobody has to go through what I did at this disgusting dealership.

I am now in the process of going through small claims court to retrieve my money.

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS.

Cars filthy

I was disgusted with how the cars were looked after. They still were ready up for sale with their signs but many had wet dashboards which made me suspicious and the final nail in the coffin was the Mazda MX-5 mk3 I looked at. I wanted to sit in it but couldn't as it was full of mould. Other cars had mould lower down on the dashboard and in the footwells.

Oil leaking …the company that you can not trust

I brought the car from this place they promised me that there is Notting wrong with car , they gave me a fake MOT ,the mileage on MOT paper is right but on invoice they brought the mileage down by over 300 miles, when car was delivered to me it was left on drive way for 2 weeks without using it , than noticed there is oil all over the place , there was oil leaking from engine,please stay away from this dealership, worst experience ever ..! Dealership you can not trust 😒

Bought a Ford Focus 1 year still great

Bought a Ford Focus from a salesmen, it was used condition and radio didn't work. However the car has run smoothly and has latest me almost a year now. and it was at least 25% cheaper than anywhere else I looked at.

No one to leave review unless it negative, about time I leave a good one. well deserved.

Not great found out the company requested to take down my last review of my honest and open views which unfortunately was successful. The salesman a big lad who wore a t shirt too small ( you know the type) had no interest in selling thr car a black 66 plate mondeo estate and only wanted to sell on finance can I prove it no was it true yes

The pleasant way to buy a car

Dealt with Ibrahim from step one. He couldn't of been more helpful as we didn't have a clear idea of what we wanted. The choice of cars is mind bending, all the finance was explained and easily sorted. All paperwork was completed using my mobile phone.
the only reason i have knocked one star off is because the radio that we changed is not very good considering the cost of it.
overall a pleasant experience and i will be dealing with these guys again

I’m asked to be honest,, I wish topgear was honest ,,the audi looked lovely , price was just ok , no extras,yes they are very quick on sales , even leave you fuel in the tank ,, they have your money the deal is done , yes this is true , !! You buy whot you can see , just the shell of a car , the engine you will pay out for over n over , you mite be lucky and asked take the car back be fixed ,, don’t ask whot they have fixed , no work sheets , even the mechanic said he cudnt rember , he fixes a lot of cars … the car needed so much work ,no one can rember ,,they had my car a week ,, ask for all the paper work of the mechanic, good luck with that one , this is a honest review ,,

I recently purchased from Top Gear Stoke and the service I received from start to finish was impeccable. I dealt with Darren who was just amazing!!! He answered all my questions and more, kept me in the loop though out, went though everything thoroughly and made the experience so easy and enjoyable. I would 100% recommend these guys.

Do not buy car from here it’s a scam

Do not buy car from here it’s a scam. I have brought a car and I regret it so much. Since I have brought it I have had issues with the car, with the engine. They gave me 6 months warranty on the car for if there are any issues. I went to them and reported and showed them the cars issues and they did not do anything about it. They are just messing around as every time I go they say something different just to waste my time. Very very bad service don’t recommend at all

Bought a car in good faith, when delivered parts missing and promised they had been sent and now being ghosted, additionally getting warning lights and although under warranty no one calling back to resolve. Would not recommend.

Avoid! Liars!

They’re liars. Do not buy from here. I enquired about a car that was slightly out of my price range, £12,995, which they ‘kindly said they would offer me and deliver the car for £12,900. They then said they would sell me the car for £12,700 but delivery was £245 which doesn’t make sense as I would be paying £12945. More than previously discussed whilst trying to be clever. The car had some small marks and scratches that I wanted closer photos of. I asked multiple times for these and never received them. They said they would try and get the marks out with a valet but I wanted to know they were able to remove these marks before buying. After many times of asking for photos and discussing these marks I was told to pinpoint where the marks were on the car even though we’d previously spoken and the company had described where they were. I was told the car wouldn’t be MOT’d or serviced until after I purchased it, so I would be none the wiser of any issues with the vehicle.
I did my own checks which showed the car had OUTSTANDING finance!! After asking about this they said it had been cleared but the system takes time to update and that they had letter confirmation. I asked multiple times for this confirmation and still nothing. I asked once more about confirmation to which I was told the finance was still outstanding and would be cleared once I purchased it. So I was lied to. Please avoid, they were also extremely rude on the phone and just overall unprofessional. Don’t let them scam you.

We clearly explained this to you on multiple occasions: the finance marker on the vehicle is removed once the vehicle is sold and full payment is received. We are legally obligated to clear the marker at that point, not before. This is a common process across dealerships, and there is nothing unusual or deceptive about it.

Despite these explanations, you chose to misinterpret the information provided and made serious accusations, including that we are "liars" and tried to "scam" you. These statements are completely untrue and defamatory, and we reserve the right to pursue legal action should such slander continue.

Furthermore, regarding the vehicle condition: you were fully informed about the marks on the car, and we made every effort to provide clarity. While you requested more photos and further clarification, our team worked to address your concerns and clearly communicated the process. At no point did we withhold information or mislead you.

Finally, we maintain a high standard of professionalism in all our dealings. If you found any interaction unsatisfactory, we regret that, but your characterization of our team as "extremely rude" is entirely subjective and unfounded.

Appalling outfit, avoid like the plague ☹️☹️☹️

Called this morning to view and test drive a car and even though I explained to the female on the phone she didn’t advise bringing my license. I arrived and had to go home to fetch it and returned later. I gave them my old style license and they asked for my mobile number and as I’d already been twice I asked if I could not bother going through this and didn’t want calls after trying to sell me other cars after. They then said they couldn’t do it without a phone number. I asked if someone goes with you on the test drive and they said yes but this wasn’t good enough. By this time I’m really fed up and felt like a criminal. I would’nt buy a car from this outfit even if it was the last car dealers on the planet.
Very dissatisfied ☹️😖
