The good: The therapy/therapist
My child greatly benefitted from the counseling, and that is/was the main purpose for signing up. Five stars for that.
THE BAD: THE COST and extricating yourself from their automatic payments!!! ONE STAR. There is zero option to speak to a live person, when my child's therapy had peacefully and successfully concluded, there was NO WAY to terminate the contract and stop the payments! It was so unbelievably unprofessional I felt like I was dealing with a cable company. I'm still not sure it's over. I am not accustomed to leaving negative reviews, but this company needs to change their practices so people aren't traumatized in this way. It should be just as easy to "unsubscribe" as it is to sign up.

We feel so futurate to have found Teencouneling as part of BetterHelp.com. Its so difficult to get in person appointments and the process of finding the right person is time consuming. With BetterHelp.com you have flexibility in your appointment times without travel time and you have a larger network to pull from. We are very impressed with the counselor that we have been connected with and will continue using Betterhelp and teencounsloring.

I cannot brag enough about the awesome help and service my family has received from Better Health and the counselor that we were matched with. In a time when trying to find an opening with a counselor who was local and the constant statement of having to wait 3-4 months it was a true blessing to have been paired and scheduled our first session all in less than 1 week with Better Health. Our counselor is a true gem, and doesn’t hesitate to answer questions by email or messaging within the app in between appointments. If anyone is skeptical about online therapy, take it from me, don’t wait on scheduling yourself a session, they are great and very professional.

Matthew Holt is beyond exceptional! My teens are excited about their sessions as he finds such a great way to connect with them. So grateful to have found him!

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! I am not usually a bitter person who leaves bad reviews online but I just had to for Teencounseling.com to warn any vulnerable teenagers, like myself, who want to get help. My therapist did not show up to a previously scheduled session. I messaged her about my problems and insecurities to explain my situation before our session (I opened up and was vulnerable) and I was online at the agreed upon time and just sat there, staring at the screen and I waited for 40 minutes and she didn't reply to my messages or attempt to contact me or start our session in any way. I made the decision to reach out and ask for help and my therapist didn't show up, after I realised that she wasn't going to show up I sat there crying for an hour after feeling abandoned, lonely and cheated. They also make you pay for the full month, they tell you its 70USD per week so I thought I'd be paying weekly and I could cancel before the 2nd week if I wasn't satisfied but they make you pay for the full month and it is very difficult to cancel your subscription. This website has made me not want to try to get help anymore. Truly appalling, they exploit vulnerable teenagers who need help for their money.

We have used teen counseling and highly recommend it. We matched with someone that was very understanding and helped develop techniques for days when we struggle! I think anyone struggling should give them a chance!

Our counselor was great. So helpful. With a teen flexibility is key and she worked with our teen to make sure their sessions fit both schedules.

Teen Counseling and our child’s counselor, Quinton Smith have been amazing. They have truly changed things around for our family. Navigating through teen years is tough for anybody (child and parents). Quinton has given our child an outlet to openly talk without judgement or criticism. He has also provided us parents with feedback specifically related to our child’s needs. I don’t have enough good things to say about teen counseling. They have really changed things around for us in a positive way.

I agree with the other 1 star reviews. My daughter desperately needs help to deal with abandonment issues around her mother. 10 days into signing up my daughter has still not communicated with anyone. I have had 2 messages with a therapist but the responses are up to 2 days apart. When signing up it makes no reference to the service being tailored to the US or that it would take significant time to get my daughter the help she needs. This is now causing my daughter further stress/anxiety which she does not need.
Without doubt the worst service I have ever experienced, I have quit the service but they refuse to refund any monies so this is a massive waste of money for a payment of £240 (for 4 weeks counseling) where we have had no benefit just further stress and issues. Appalling company/service please all avoid

Actually, my daughter is still in the beginning of this experience. So far things are going quite well. I'm really happy I found this site. Everything is highly organized. The therapist is highly qualified, experienced, and compassionate.
I'm so hopeful that my daughter will get significant difference with you . I'll give you more detailed feedback in the near future

I'm so glad I started with Teen Counseling. believe it has helped my child navigate through the challenges he faces. I see improved behavior and his counselor, Terrence Wyatt has been valuable in my son's life. Highly recommended. It's online and that makes my son feel more comfortable.

Don't join. If your kid has abandonment issues, this will reaffirm it.
I'm so disappointed in this platform. Therapists are consistently so inconsistent. This is our 5th therapist for my daughter who doesn't response to messages. The previous 4 therapist don't show up at scheduled appointments, don't respond messages and don't show negative reviews. All these positive reviews are probably fake. I feel cheated.

Avoid. The website promises a low rate, but when I signed up, I was charge a rate that was significantly more. The website also promises that there are 10,000 therapists available. I'm not sure where those therapists are, but the directory showed a grand total of two in my populous state. In addition, the communication can be quite slow. The service does not actually match you to a therapist; rather, you have to look through the directory and find one, who may or may not be available and who may or may not have the necessary expertise. You're better off using a search engine to find a therapist.

Only 1 day into signing up, before accepting the recommended counselor, they charged my debit card $320 dollars. When I requested to quit the service, instead of returning the money, they said I could use the site for the remaining days of the 30-day commitment.

So far we are five days in on our $380 a month plan of "unlimited" access to a teen therapist. We have yet to be able to get the first appointment scheduled. The site promises they work within your schedule, but that is not true, you work within the schedule of the therapist in a different time zone. If it keeps going like this, I will be cancelling as we are not seeing any value and my teen is becoming frustrated with the process. Last thing I need as a parent is a teen who needs therapy because of her therapist.
