They only provide once-a-week options at $90 per week. So, for two kids, it's $720 a month. There is no option to only meet once a month. So we have to pay a ton of money to burn our kids out on therapy with a once-a-week timing because...? Oh, money.

Edit to respond: No you don't, so don't lie on reviews. Your own support just sent "At this time, we do not offer a plan of this frequency, but you're certainly encouraged to apply for a discount since all members qualify. To apply, fill out the form at..." Your joke of a financial aid process is a couple of questions and a small discount. Don't say you do something if you don't, nice representation of this morally bankrupt company.

Don't sign up. Counselors cancel and flake. Very unprofessional org, a waste of your money, don't be disappointed.

Counseling a child that doesn’t live under my roof to make sure he attends his therapy was frustrating. Lots of missed appointments but payment was still billed. I was told I’d receive a reimbursement, but never received it:( The counseling working for the child that lives w/me, but it wasn’t financially beneficial for my college kid.

I really think this could be a great service so be clear I am basing my comments on the website rather than the quality of the counselling. I paid £180 and had no choice of therapist - indeed the person selected was from USA. But my real problem was the setting up of the accounts. There is no telephone service if in technical difficulty and the email service is one business day. They replied after eight hours which is within their target but the nature of the work combined with the money involved should have a much faster response time especially as there are a number of faults in the process. It is easy to get in a muddle because the teenager has their own ability to register for the service and then an email goes to the child’s parents. The parents can register and send an email to the teenager. But if they both register there is no way to link up. Even if the child accepts the parents invitation I the app stays stuck with the parent approval form and nothing else. We were linked up with a therapist but we were unable to make contact due to a severe technical hitches. After the call was connected, the client had to press 1 on the keypad. This I did time after time and call after call. No response.

Even basic web design seems poor. The login area for email address and password is too small to read the whole entry. Forgotten Passwords only have one entry so typos are easy to make. It asks for your pin and then the app doesn’t respond. But worst of all is the slow response to rectifying problems. I’ve had a disturbed teenager throwing hysterical all afternoon. Clients and therapists deserve a much better service than this.

I upgraded this review from one star to three star as the technicians worked hard to resolve these problems and we are now using the service and have found it useful. The beauty of a teenager receiving therapy in their own home rather than a strange office is great. If the web service had been up-to-scratch I would give it five stars but they do need to look hard at having a much more welcoming introduction to new customers.

I can't comment on the therapy because it never got to that point. The interface with the teen counseling staff is thru email only. I was quite thorough in answering of its intact questions. Emailed precisely what our ask was. The first go round they did match us with 1 therapist, no others to choose from. When I confirmed with my daughter who the therapist was prior to booking she had reservations about speaking to a male. So I quickly messaged teen counseling back and asked for a few female suggestions. I received 3or 4 but all had bios that dealt primarily with adult female issues like fertility, post partum depression broken marriage. I indicated we weren't interested in those things and expressed that isn't this supposed to be a " teen" service? And someone emails back asking me to be more specific with my ask and that I didn't indicate female at first...just stop! It goes on and on! Then I requested a refund as this isn't working out for us. And they email back stating that the parent has to email the request?? I'm AM the parent! If anyone would've actually read the litany of emails they would've understood this. I have no idea if any of the therapists are good. We never got that far.

I found the whole process of finding a therapist online to be incredibly easy. Within a few clicks I had a response, and was able to connect with a therapist for my son, and the sessions were always easy, reliable and flexible.

Teen Counseling is exactly what we needed for my daughter to get the therapist and type of therapy that she ever so badly needed/wanted. After going thru 2 different therapists, both in person and online and neither time did she/we feel like they handled the communication RE: her recent traumatic experience appropriately.

I reviewed Crystals credentials with my daughter, also read her reviews and we both agreed she sounded more so the type of Therapist she wanted but also very much so needed. Since then she has confirmed that she is very professional, attentive upfront and empathetic. So far, she has been a great listener to the needs we expressed and she’s also personable, which will make it much easier for my daughter to want to open up.

All around I feel like she’s already the better pick of all and just based off of our conversations, I appreciate her willingness to involve me throughout with her upfront intentions to help navigate both of us thru this healing process. Most importantly, confident she can offer my daughter the help to cope now, but also for her future as we all know life as it is, can be challenging enough. I have faith this will be just what and who my daughter needs to finally feel heard.

Majority of sessions get canceled, or are missed entirely by the therapist. Be ready to sit by the phone wondering if anyone will turn up! Sessions are only available in the middle of the night between 11am-5am, not great for a 12yo. This month alone, my daughter only got to have ONE out of four sessions. There is no contact in between sessions as advertised. No continuity = bad therapy.

I was beyond shocked to receive back my 4,000.00 in membership fees I did not sign up for. Usually you would expect to have to argue or prove it to any other company. Mia easily looked at the account and saw I was being charged for 13 months unknowingly with no usage ever, and just refunded my money. What a true blessing this company is, anyone else would take the money and run! Honesty and professionalism at a 10!

I am a parent of a teen and I have found BetterHelp excellent . It is online so that helps and teens are used to that since Covid. My son’s counsellor Karan has been very helpful and stayed in communication with me so I know what is going on.

Teen counseling has been a tremendous help with my son. My son had tried a couple of different therapist but never felt like he was getting through to any of them. My son looks forward to talking with Rev. John Reid every week! He connected with him immediately which was not expected. We have nothing but positive things to say about my son's therapy sessions.

Counselors are very professional. My child feels connected and there are some tools that the cild and the parents can use as a journal, text messages with counselor, the teen can manage and schedule the meetings, which is enpowering.

We signed our son up for therapy sessions in June bc trying to find an in person therapist proved difficult. The demand is super high in our area. So we took a chance w BetterHelp and Teen Counseling and am so glad we did.
So. We didn’t take the first person paired with him. It didn’t feel like a good fit. We searched thru all the available therapists to find the right match for him. So my advice to anyone signing up, don’t be afraid to search and find another therapist to work with. And trust your gut.
I appreciate that our therapist worked in 30 min sessions w him too at first. He can only take so much chatting and really needed to build up rapport w her bf jumping to an hour. He also chose over the phone instead of video call. Again-having that choice gave him some control.
We have noticed a big difference in his attitude how he handles difficult situations. Sure he still has his moments but overall Kelly has made a huge difference for him.

My only con is that they do not take health insurance. So at nearly $400 it is super expensive but his mental health is worth it.

I signed up for my teen daughter and they assigned a male counselor automatically. After doing nothing, I wrote and finally got a woman. They extended my membership for a week which is what it took. OK - small problem. She had two sessions then got injured and disappeared. Except in her goodbye email she said to use a site that cost more. My daughter had abandonment issues so - after gaining some trust - this was too much and I told them I'm done. I very specifically, very carefully canceled but, when I signed up, was also careful to use a temporary card. Despite the problems and cancellation - both which they were aware of - they attempted to charge my card which I'd thankfully frozen. I strongly STRONGLY recommend avoiding this company and these people. They auto-assign counselors, change people who disappear leaving teens in a lurch, and they're crooks who refuse honor cancellations. If you must sign up, make sure to use a temporary card.

The business model for this "professional therapy" platform needs an overhaul. The company requires you to pay in full upfront for what is supposed to equate to four therapy sessions for $90/each in a month = $360 for a telehealth "local/semi-local" therapist. We are supposed to be able to schedule therapy as live video, live chat, or live phone session. Instead, what we received was a headache. My teen was matched to a therapist who canceled the very first session, and offered days to reschedule then didn't reschedule with her on the offered days. We decided to take that opportunity to find a different therapist who seemed to be a great match; however, we experienced technical issues with Teencounseling.com on the first session and spent the whole time trying to join the therapy room neither the therapist, my teen, or myself could do so - online or through the app. I'm not sure why we weren't offered a live chat session or live phone call instead of wasting all that time to connect on video to be told we would need to reschedule. This site seems like a side hustle for therapists to fill in the gaps in their private practice schedules. My teen is understandably not taking this well. It's a horrible way to deal with people seeking mental health support. We have been waiting since 8/9 to talk to someone. I do not recommend this company at all. Good therapists might be associated with this platform; however, we wouldn't know because we haven't had a session in the two weeks since the company charged us. The fact that many LGBTQIA+ support resource websites recommend this company is unsettling. I recommend looking elsewhere.

I love that I am able to contact my therapist by message at anytime. In person therapy doesn’t have that option you only see them once a week. Kyra Delecambre and Shana Leary Williams are amazing. They get back to me right away and can send me work sheets and websites to further my care. I love that I can also do group therapy and take classes and it all comes with joining and it is affordable. I can have therapy from anywhere if I need to since it’s online. I love BetterHelp and highly recommend it!!

Having been unable to find in person therapy in the area where we live I looked into teencouseling.com at the suggestion of my son who heard about it on YouTube. The process of signing up and getting matched to a counselor went very smoothly and the counselor match seems perfect for my son. He looks forward to the weekly virtual session and checks his email every day to see if the counselor has sent a message. I can see that his mood is more upbeat since beginning. The counselor honors the confidentiality between the two of them so it’s up to my son to tell me what they discuss if he wants to share with me.

Teencounseling.com has been amazing! It meets kids where they are/how they communicate via their phones. This makes therapy more accessible and less intimidating than having to go into an office. We love our therapist (who gave actionable items straight away)! I was totally impressed - and I’ve been through a lot of therapy. :). Highly recommend Teen Counseling!

This is a scam. They take payment upfront and do not provide what they say they will provide. I was basically robbed $320, for nothing in return. Stay away.

Was assigned to a therapist in a different time zone, and all the available timeslots were at 5am or 6am in our time zone. After 2 months and $$$$ spent, never got a live session. Not convenient. Not recommended.
