I've used teatime bookshop a lot for myself and for gifts, They are good value and a nice wee surprise. Never had an issue with them

I ordered a sweatshirt in mid-December 2024. It was supposed to be a Christmas present. I received confirmation of my order and was told that they would let me know when the item was dispatched.
Christmas came and went and I had heard nothing so I emailed the company. I received a reply that they would be dispatching it to me that week. Apart from wording to the effect that it had taken a long time, I did not receive any apology.
The quality of the sweatshirt is ok but I suspect that the wording on the front of it will not survive many washes. I also feel that I have paid over the odds for it.
The paucity of the communication was the biggest irritation. Keep your customers informed if there’s a delay, please!

It hasn’t arrived.

Set this up for my granddaughter, excellent delivery, used books in excellent condition, she loved the hot chocolate and biscuits although she calls it grannysbookbox!

Ordered a three month vintage book subscription as a birthday present.
Had to chase up the original order as had still not been sent over a week later - book was stained and covered in ink. While I understand these are second hand books, I expect a semi decent quality copy for my money!
And again, third (and definitely final!) parcel also never shipped. I gave them some leeway as it was Christmas but three weeks later still no dispatch note. I once again emailed, and only then received an automated dispatch notification - absolutely no communication, acknowledgement or apology for their shoddy business organisation. Having now looked at reviews here, this seems to be a common theme.

Bought a subscription as a gift, only one has come so far but was well received and looking forward to the next one. Customer service was good communication, would recommend!

Customer service nice guy Laurence sorted out my self inflicted problems with ease. and my gift was received on time and once advised to the correct address.
My daughter is pleased with the book and hot chocolate and it arrived today in time to take away for new year. Email slow to respond when you're panicking but once they know the problem dealt with very quickly.
I suppose a 24 hour reply is acceptable at this time of the year, and after trying a few times the phone was answered and all is well!

I love the concept and have ordered a couple of times now! My first experience was great! However this time was a bit disappointing. I ordered 2 Rom Com boxes to give as Christmas gifts, only one arrived. I emailed querying if the second was also on its way, but unfortunately I got a reply 2 days later to inform me the second had never been dispatched. Thankfully it was posted that day with a faster delivery method which meant it arrived the 23rd December so before Xmas, but this was passed when I needed the present for due to when I was seeing the recipient. Grateful the issue was sorted, I love the boxes but disappointed it happened in the first place.

I ordered a one off box as a retirement gift. It took over a week for my order to arrive. I emailed to see when I would receive my order as the website claims 1-2 days. No reply came back, just an email a few days later to say it had been dispatched. It arrived 8 days from ordering, a day before I needed it!
I ordered the rom com books but they didn’t look particularly appealing reads. Hopefully the saying ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ will be true! I did add to the refreshments as they didn’t look much. I’m not sure I’d order again.

Update: My friend was very pleased with the gift and choice of book.
I would suggest maybe updating the delivery or providing a holding message if Yodel is having problems, but it turned out well in the end.

I contacted the team well before Christmas with a couple of questions and they were really helpful. When the first package for the subscription arrived I had a quick look and thought it was great, and I think my Mum will be really surprised on Christmas Day when she opens it! The box is sturdy with a fun pattern on it (books of course!), and everything inside is packaged nicely, including the little note inside. I love it.
When I put my order in for a subscription, I placed it under my name and contacted them to ask if it would be possible to chance the name to my Mums as it was a Christmas present, and they responded to say yes, I'd just have to email or phone them to make the change. I think the TeaTime Bookshop have a great thing going on, and I look forward to seeing the next two boxes when they arrive next year!

Great little box arrived, very happy. Had a few questions and customer service was great, very prompt and helpful. Whoever delivered it couldn’t have cared less, and it could have been ruined, but a careless courier is not tea-time books fault.

I ordered the Book Lover’s hamper but it was not a hamper at all. Just a collection of items in delivery box filled with brown wrapping paper. The mug was chipped. No reply to couple of emails I sent. Would not recommend this business although the concept is good.

A good book, coffee and biscuits, what more could I ask for, haven’t been disappointed.

I get a monthly book and they have never failed to send me an incredible book. Always something I'd not think to choose myself. Best treat I get every month!

If I could give zero stars I would. Beware as I’m sure this is a scam. The 0116 number is out of action and the 03 number no one answers. I have emailed contact on social media and not a single response. I purcused a subscription over a week ago and have received nothing and not had a singles response. If I don’t hear tomorrow I’ll be contacting credit card company for a refund

I love everything about this subscription company it’s the absolute best, I got my order pretty fast which is always a plus. Feels like a gift to yourself every month !

Ordered 2 subscriptions as gifts. 1 hasn't even been despatched yet. Have emailed about it and still no response. One finally arrived yesterday after it had been saying despatched for over a week, and it's absolutely battered. Can't gift it at all. Again have emailed and no response. I really appreciate its getting to a busy time of year but if you can't keep up with customer service you shouldn't take on more orders really because none of them will be returning ones at this rate
