Worst After-Sales Service — Gave Defective Refurbished Unit as Replacement, Now TV is Completely Dead
I purchased a TCL TV which developed a defect and was eligible for replacement. What followed has been a month-long nightmare that I am sharing to warn other buyers.
The Replacement Unit:
The unit delivered as "replacement" was clearly not new. It had the following pre-existing defects:
Paint chip on the body
Dead pixel on screen
Loose and improperly fitted badge/sensor panel
Uneven panel brightness
No factory seal
No original documentation or warranty papers
Their Response:
When I raised this, TCL cited a "DOA policy" that was never communicated to me at any point before or during the replacement process. I received identical copy-paste responses for over a month stating the issue is "under review on priority basis."
What Followed:
Technician scheduled but did a complete no-show with zero intimation
Technician finally visited after repeated follow-ups
TCL unilaterally approved a panel replacement without informing me despite my written request demanding prior communication
I formally rejected the panel replacement and demanded a brand-new unit
No resolution was offered
Current Situation:
The replacement TV has now completely stopped working. No power, no indicator lights, totally dead. I am left without any functional television despite having paid for a brand-new product.
Escalations Done:
National Consumer Helpline complaint filed.
Verdict:
TCL India's after-sales service is non-existent. If you face any issue with your product, be prepared for endless delays, vague responses, and zero accountability. Buy at your own risk.
