Firstly response from Take a chef was great here in Wellington NZ. We wanted a Japanese inspired degustation and our Chef, Ane delivered perfectly. Great set up of table service, clean up, ease and food was plenty and phenomenal! Highly recommend!

I have used Take a Chef in both Nice, France and in Mexico City and have been impressed and incredibly happy with the ease of the website and the wide array of chefs with expertise in a variety of culinary styles.

Extremely attentive and deliberate. The food was delicious and exceeded expectations. The coursed meal was perfect for our group size. They were respectful and caring and exactly as expected. I highly recommend JC and his team.

Chef Steven is great! We had a wonderful meal, three courses of beautifully presented deliciousness. He was friendly, hard working and very talented. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a private dinner at my home, and Chef Diego completely exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, professional, and truly memorable.

Nous avons fait appel au chef Matteo pour une surprise à domicile pour mon conjoint, et l’expérience a été absolument parfaite. L’ambiance était à la fois intimiste et chaleureuse, exactement ce que nous recherchions.

Matteo a été tout simplement extraordinaire : passionné, attentionné et d’un grand professionnalisme. Chaque plat était un véritable voyage — une cuisine italienne authentique, raffinée et pleine de saveurs. On se serait cru en Italie le temps d’une soirée.

Un moment suspendu, hors du temps, que nous n’oublierons pas. Je recommande les yeux fermés !

Chef Bernice was incredible! She was polite, professional and prompt. Her food was amazing and the best start to our vacation. She even made extra things that weren’t on the menu like banana bread that we devoured. Highly highly recommend!

The food was incredible and Chef Anderson was very personable. My kids were asking him questions and he was engaged and not annoyed at all. A+ experience.

I submitted a review on 9th March due to two cancelled chefs in Selsey and an event I was let down for on the day. I received an email asking for further information which I sent through additional details of the confirmation of the service and I am still yet to receive any response to my review. The service (or lack of) has been appalling, no accountability and no decency to acknowledge my review either.

La experiencia con el Chef Gabo fue excelente de principio a fin. Desde el primer contacto entendió perfectamente lo que buscábamos y se encargó de todo, proponiendo un menú increíble, muy bien pensado y con un nivel gastronómico que superó nuestras expectativas.

La cena fue por el cumpleaños de mi esposa y logró que sea una noche realmente especial, íntima y con muchísimo cuidado en los detalles. Cada plato estuvo impecable, tanto en presentación como en sabor.

Además, destaco la organización, la puntualidad y el profesionalismo. Se nota claramente la experiencia y el compromiso con lo que hace.

Sin dudas lo volvería a contratar y lo recomiendo 100% a cualquiera que quiera hacer algo especial.

Nous avons passé un déjeuner absolument incroyable grâce à chef Corentin BELTRAN. Le repas était tout simplement fabuleux. Le canard à l’orange était, sans hésiter, le meilleur que j’aie jamais mangé : parfaitement cuit, savoureux et très raffiné.

Chaque assiette était magnifique, digne d’un très grand restaurant, aussi bien dans la présentation que dans les saveurs. On sent le souci du détail et la passion pour la cuisine.

Le chef a été extrêmement à l’écoute de toutes mes demandes et a même fait bien plus que ce qui était prévu pour que l’expérience soit parfaite. Il a su s’adapter et rendre ce moment vraiment spécial.

Je le recommande les yeux fermés et ferai sans aucun doute appel à lui de nouveau pour d’autres repas. Une expérience gastronomique exceptionnelle à domicile !

Great service and super nice staff! Sarah and her team did a great job making us morrocan food! The food was very good.
Only thing that’s keeping me from 5/5 stars, is that we had to wait one whole hour for the food. The food was planned for 19h, but was not served until after 20h..

We had Chef George Dimitriadis prepare a traditional Greek meal for our family of 11 and it ended up being an absolute highlight of our trip. The menu and proposal work was very easy, communication was seamless and the meal was incredible.
We asked Chef George to do things a little different, as we wanted to learn and be a part of some of the preparation. We designed a menu that would allow him to teach us how to make some of the dishes while explaining about the ingredients, flavors, and preparation. Everyone had such a great time and Chef George was not only a talented chef (has worked at high end restaurants around the world and for celebrities) but he was fun, kind and super informative. The meal was great and we all agreed that it was a very special night. Highly recommend Chef George!

Chef Ismel and his team were great! On time, the decor was perfect, and the food was wonderful. Great experience for this group of Americans! It was great after a long travel day to have someone else cook and clean up.

Chef Adel was amazing. The food was so delicious and everyone was catered for being gluten free and vegetarian plus normal meals.

We loved Chef Louis. His communication before our dinner was appreciated. He was responsive and kept in touch regarding menu choices and preferences. He arrived timely and was amazing. We weren’t sure how it would work enjoying a small family birthday dinner while he was there, but it worked beautifully. He was professional, his food was delicious and we were able to enjoy. The web site is wrong structured. All the potential client I've got are not really interested on booking, they are just curious about hire a chef. And is not related on how I present the menu on how I interact with the potential guest, it's extremely related on how the platform is structured, the dedicated chat is really slow and the guest will not receive an instant message from the chef, but in opposite he have to log in to see if someone answer because most of the emails the platform send will reach the spam.
COMMISSIONS:
The 18% to 25% of commission is justified if the service was free for the chefs but this lose all the sense once I have to pay 29$ par month extra to have the hope of a service closure. The concept do not have any sense it's looks like they are squeezing the chefs more and more, consider that all the ingredients, costs of petrol and gas is under the charges of the chef, this will lead on two options:
1st. You have to charge a ridiculous price to the guest for a service.
2sd. You have to take a really low profit considering the amount of hours dedicated to a single service that include ingredient research, and previous preparations.
POTENTIAL GUESTS (CLIENTS):
The majority of guests that seeking on this platform are not really interested on hire a chef they are just curious on how can cost and then leave.
Even after multiple follow up is not possible that I will not receive neither one message back. From the hundreds of potential guests I have been contacted only 5 or 6 they just answer back and this is a clear sign of non interest from the person not related on how I present the menu on the platform that is well presented, updated and curated by the way.
The introduction of the paid formula is not acceptable if the chef have to pay 29$ monthly plus a commission starting from 18% to 25% or even 30% if a potential partner of the platform will contact you.
I wish you will remove this feature or low the commission and then I will be more that happy to work back again with your platform.

The communication was immaculate the vibes are immaculate and I can’t even begin to describe how incredibly delicious and fun and exciting the food was. He made it so easy for us and so special.
