Train times selected were very convenient. Our boutique 4* hotel was in the next door street to the Musee d'Orsay. TMR even booked the restaurants we want to dine at. Thank you!

Excellent service, all of our "tweaks" were catered for, so the personalised itinerary was exactly what we wanted.

We've now booked four brilliant holidays with Tailor Made Rail. The first, a tour of Switzerland, was cancelled due to the pandemic, but not before we had received our very well-organised itinerary and travel passes, and we were very impressed by the way the TMR team managed our inevitable cancellation. Our second and third holidays, a tour of Wales and a visit to Amsterdam and Delft, were equally well-organised, and we were very comfortable in our designated hotels. This time, we went Interrailing to Lake Lugano, stopping on the way out in Basel and on the way back in Dijon. Each hotel was lovely, clean and friendly, and close to the railway station. Train connections were well thought-out, and made manageable by means of an excellent travel pack.

Having travelled with Simon and TMR twice now, I can thoroughly recommend them for their ability to create outstanding well organised and Tailor Made Rail Holidays. Both of our trips will stay in our memories for ever.

My friend and I wanted to go by train all over western Europe for a month. It seemed a daunting task to join up the travel and the hotels. Tailor Made Rail was recommended by Seat 61, and it couldn't have been better. Between the company and us, we juggled the itinerary for a few weeks, and then settled on a plan. I received excellent service from
Tailor Made Rail ( TMR). During the early booking stages I made several calls to TMR. All the agents and advisers I spoke to were very knowledgeable, helpful and polite and took the trouble to understand my requirements and to address these. If they could not deal with my query immediately, they would look into it further and promptly come back with an answer or alternatives, either by email or by phone. The train and hotel bookings were spot on. On my return I received an email ( and as requested, a telephone call) for my feed back from the trip. I was inadvertently overcharged for accommodation on my card at one of the hotels. When I explained this to TMR they promptly arranged a refund from the hotel. All in all, an excellent service.

Fantastic service. Apart from the time of the first train on our trip to Austria being incorrect (!), the itinerary was perfect from beginning to end, the instructions re Interrail passes were crystal clear and the train connections easy to navigate. We had only one problem when our TGV from Colmar to Paris Est was cancelled without warning; Zak from TMR was on the phone almost before we realised we were stranded, and reservations organised on another train so we made our Eurostar back to London as planned.
This was our first experience with TMR and we will definitely use you again!

This is the third time we have travelled with Tailor Made Rail and yet again it was excellent. Seamless travel experience and well chosen hotels. Ive recommended them to several friends who all had the same experience.

Another great trip to Bologna, Parma,Modena and Ferrara. Well organised and it was good to receive less paper for our train tickets. It might have been helpful to make use of the Trenitalia App to access the tickets though. That said, we were only required to present the QR code once in 6 journeys.

Very well organised, we liked the hotel choices, which were in perfect locations for restaurants and stations.

The itinerary compiled by Tailor Made Rail for our recent visit to France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy was fantastic. The information pack sent with our Interrail tickets was clear and easy to follow. The hotels that were booked were excellent. Definitely would recommend Tailor Made Rail. Really stress-free travel at its best.

It was our first holiday of this type and with this tour operator. We are both approaching 80 and were, understandably, nervous about what could go wrong. It was a trip to Northern Italy and involved quite a few rail journeys as well as several hotels. We needn’t have worried as the experience was everything we could have hoped for. Beautiful trains and every one on time, lovely hotels which were convenient for the stations and a superb destination. We are considering booking with Tailor Made next year to enjoy another part of the world.
