I’ve had the pleasure of being coached by Caitlin M. at Swim Expert (Derby branch) for around two months, and the experience has been excellent. She is patient, kind, and creates a very relaxed atmosphere during lessons, which makes a big difference when learning.

I started with zero previous experience, and she has helped me progress massively in a short amount of time. Her approach makes you feel comfortable while still pushing you to improve.

The initial phone call with Swim Expert was also very straightforward, and the setup process was smooth. They’ve consistently communicated well via email, keeping me informed of anything I need to know.

I would highly recommend Caitlin to anyone looking for swim lessons !

I had a lesson with a teacher whose teaching style didn’t feel like a good fit and requested a change. I was matched with Dr Christian in Brentford pool and I would give more than 5 stars if I could! He explains things to me really well in a way that I understand and helps me to focus on what’s important and what isn’t. He has a lot of experience which shows from the way he teaches, he explains different ways of doing the same stroke and the pros and cons. After struggling with group lessons for a long time, I have made more progress with Dr Christian in 4 lessons than I have in a group setting in 1 year. The lessons are fun and educational, and he is kind and honest and an enthusiastic teacher. This is a massive bonus especially as an adult learner when I have been at work all day or tired it is refreshing to be taught by someone who genuinely loves what they do. I look forward to learning more and becoming a confident swimmer :)

I started with Swim Expert about 3 months ago. I had with no swimming experience and was quite nervous in the water, but my coach Dr Christian’s patience really helped me feel comfortable and build confidence step by step.
With his guidance, I learned the front crawl and now feel ready to move on to breaststroke. He explains things clearly and makes each lesson easy to follow.
SwimExpert is also very easy to book with, and the staff are friendly and helpful whenever I had questions. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend both Dr Christian and SwimExpert to anyone starting out.

As a not very confident swimmer at all, I started my lessons with Robert W and from my very first lesson, Robert made me feel very comfortable and from there I have only positive feedback as even at difficulty with certain strokes, Robert is very patient and calm and amazing at making you feel relaxed and be able to perform with no pressure.
Robert is very patient, has a gentle approach, made me feel safe and turned my fear into making me laugh.
Expertise is on form and very knowledgeable.
Very happy I was given Robert to teach me how to swim, without Robert I think I may have given up after the first few lessons.
Wonderful instructor and a genuine lovely gentleman. 😊

I tried to contact the team to get lessons from only female instructor as Iam only comfortable from female instructor but the lady told me they do not have only female instructor and they can assign anyone which is bit strange and not helpful at all for me.

Pav is excellent at using small steps for a 78 year old non swimmer.

We really love working with Matthew via SwimExpert! He's great with our 5 year old! He seems to have a lot of tactics and strategies to kids acquire new skills in the pool. He's also very patient which we've appreciated.

I would not recommend this swimming facility unless your child is comfortable following a very strict, military-style approach to instruction.

In my experience, it is not particularly neurodiversity-friendly, which makes it challenging for children who may need a more supportive or adaptable learning environment.

There also seems to be a high turnover of staff, which affects consistency and continuity in teaching.

Additionally, the lanes are quite small and cramped. Less confident or less able swimmers are expected to manage in these conditions, often dealing with constant waves and disruption caused by the movement of swimmers in adjacent lanes—particularly from the back-and-forth activity in lane 6. This creates an unnecessarily difficult environment for those still building their confidence in the water.

The whole process has been so easy to book and manage. Hayden has been fantastic always on time and greeting with a smile. My daughter has absolutely adored swimming with him and been excited to go every week. With good mix of swimming, technique and free play.

My daughter was a nervous swimmer and reluctant to go under water. The transformation we’ve seen in her confidence over the last 6 months has been amazing. She loves swimming and cannot get her out of the water. Having done group lessons with slow progress this has seen my 5 year old flourish into a swim lover.

I would not recommend using this company they cancelled lessons without making adequate effort to inform me I was given the schedule of all my sons dates which they did not turn up to. We were unsure if the lessons were to go ahead but when we didn’t turn up to one as we were unsure whether it was happening or not they would not refund me. The ladies in the office are very rude and I do not like the company and will never use them again.

We are very grateful to have Dr. Christian as our daughter’s swimming instructor. His professionalism and structured teaching approach truly stand out.

He focuses carefully on technique — from stroke mechanics and body position to breathing and pacing — ensuring every detail is taught correctly. Each lesson is purposeful and progressive, helping students build strong fundamentals without developing bad habits.

Under his guidance, our daughter has achieved excellent results. Her technique, speed, and endurance have improved significantly, and her confidence in the water has grown tremendously. We have seen not only measurable performance gains but also greater discipline and determination.

Dr. Christian maintains high standards while remaining patient and encouraging. We highly recommend him to any parent looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated swimming coach who delivers real results.

We’ve signed up with Luke from SwimExpert and he’s worked nothing less than a miracle with my 7yo son in his first 15 sessions. From not wanting to put his head in the water let alone go in over waist deep, Luke has taken a guided approach to building his confidence and allowing him to make incremental improvements to a point where he’s on the cusp of being swimming disc free. Still work to do, but there’s now a clear path to him being able to swim..

Matthew has been doing a great job teaching our 5yo son. We’ve seen significant progress in just a few lessons. Highly recommended!

Watching my son's confidence in the water grow. Both my son's swim instructors, Matthew and Luke are very patient, encouraging and in just a few lessons have improved my son's swimming no end.

Luke is a very good coach.
He knows what level you're at and tailors the lessons to make sure they're not too overwhelming. He's gotten me to a level where my progressing exponentially every lesson.

My children attend lessons in Stratford Upon Avon Welcombe Hotel. Rebecca is one of the best swimming instructors I have come across. My two children are both neurodiverse and require very individualised instructions. It took just one lesson with Rebecca to pull out the best swimming abilities I've seen in my children. My 5 year old went from not wanting her head to touch the water to being fully submerged in the pool within the first 30 min lesson. She has a natural ability with children that makes them feel safe and confident in the water. I could not be happier with the lessons.

Matty was totally amazing, very patient with me and very understanding gridlock traffic meant I was over 2hrs late, it was extremely kind of him to agree to stay late for my lesson.

Swimexperts so far have been excellent with the teachers and back office team.
