Received huge invoice 1750Eur for normal wear

Received huge invoice of 1750EUR for salt water stain on the seat and 2mm stone dent on window. This is normal wear and tear after renting car for 21 days.
Company tries hard to find faults if one does not want to buy full insurance for 800EUR.
Do not rent with SurPrice!

Steer clear, horrendous company

Worst rental in 25 years: Pisa Airport.
They will make you pay again if you do not have both your full first-name and full surname on the credit card (the card you booked with). They would not accept a Visa without my full first name printed on the card and would not refund the original payment. We were forced to pay again (a second time) for the car rental! Despite their nonsense rule about full printed name on the card, they were happy to take a second payment on the same card! I've used this Visa card all around the world since 1990 without a single problem.
Please book elsewhere with a reputable company.

Terrible company, massive hidden extra charge
s. Potential scam company. Also tried to charge me 520 euros for a tiny scratch when the car was already fully beaten up before I got it. Currently waiting for return of the deposit, given many lame and untrue excuses.

Unscrupulous business

The small print requires an international driving permit for non-EU residents. This isn’t a legal requirement - they know hardly anybody has one. I have hired cars dozens of times in Europe and an international driving permit has never been required by any other company. They only waive this “requirement” if you pay a substantial extra sum for extra insurance coverage - it is plainly a pretext for charging more than the advertised price. A deceptive and unscrupulous practice. Luckily I realised this before I got to their location away from the airport in Milan.

The worst experience for renting a car

The worst experience for renting a car. I booked a car through Doyouspain in Tenerife from Surprice. At Tenerife South Airport, Surprice does not have an office; we waited for an hour in a parking lot for an agent to arrive, who brought us an old, dirty car that had no power. I was also forced to pay for additional insurance. When returning the car, we also waited an hour without anyone coming or giving us any further instructions. In the end, we left the car with the keys in the glove compartment and left.

Voto uno perché non posso mettere zero, di un’incompetenza sconvolgente.
Esperienza pessima. Ho prenotato un’auto tramite DoYouItaly, inserendo regolarmente il numero del mio volo. Il volo ha avuto un ritardo di appena 30 minuti, ma al mio arrivo mi è stato detto che la mia auto era stata assegnata ad altri perché “ero in ritardo” — ignorando completamente il fatto che il numero del volo era stato comunicato e quindi tracciabile.
La soluzione? Mi hanno proposto un’auto diversa, a un prezzo maggiorato di 400 euro. Nessuna assistenza, nessuna responsabilità. Solo l’intento evidente di approfittare della situazione per spillare più soldi.
Un comportamento scorretto, scoraggiante e profondamente scorretto.
DoYouItaly si lava le mani e scarica tutto sulle compagnie partner. Nessuna tutela per il cliente. Mai più.

Beware when using credit card for insurance excess.

Warning- If you don’t take their insurance, you must have a credit card with sufficient credit for the excess. Fine, HOWEVER, they won’t accept a credit card unless it has the bank name on it, which was bizarre. My John Lewis Mastercard, they would not accept, and when I handed a Barclaycard over, they would not accept it as it had my initial rather than full name. I was told either cancel the hire and try and claim from booking agent, or pay £250 for their insurance. Two other couples had the same issue, when we were there, both ended up paying. It felt like a scam, when three customers had the same thing, in a 20 minute period. Another hire counter looked on sympathetically, as if they saw this all the time. Would definitely not use again.

Rome with International License - BEWARE!

We arrived in Rome with European driver's license and they demanded an international driving license! What? And they told us this was the law in Italy and it is in the contract. It is not the law in Italy. And this company (Surprice) had only one person receiving clients in the office, and was very slow. Not even proper signs in the office, only printed on paper. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We then proceeded to RecordGo car rentals in Rome, and had no problem to rent a car WITHOUT an international driver's license. Thank you RecordGo for your great service!

Poca trasparenza. Nolo a Creta.

Presa a nolo auto per 8 gg a Creta. Il personale è gentile. L'unico lato positivo. Per il resto rimane un noleggio poco trasparente. Al check in volevano bloccare su carta 1100 euro che si sarebbero tenuti in caso di danno anche minimo alla macchina, a meno di stipulare una casco a più di 600euro. Fanno molta pressione. La macchina era in buone condizioni esterne e interne ma i freni erano consumati e qualcosa ballava a livello di una ruota posteriore. Infine quando ho presentato carta American Express mi hanno detto che non la prendevano, quindi mi hanno chiesto se potessi fare un pos (o contanti). Quando ho detto che era l'unica carta in mio possesso hanno estratto da un armadio il lettore che ha letto la Amex senza problemi. Ma guarda!

We had a terrible experience with Surprice Car Rental at Bari Airport, booked through DoYouItaly.com. We arrived after a long flight and waited over an hour at the airport for someone to pick us up.

Once at their off-site location, I presented a valid credit card in my name with available funds the same card I've used across Italy without issue. Despite this, the Surprice employee falsely claimed our card was not accepted in Italy and said the only way they’d let us rent the car was if we paid for their expensive insurance, even though we were already covered.

He said he was doing us a “favour,” but it was clear this was a predatory upsell. When we refused the forced insurance, he denied us the rental and became aggressive, refusing to give his name. We had no choice but to cancel and then they told us we would not be refunded.

We contacted DoYouItaly, expecting support, but they sided with the rental company, claiming “it was all in the terms.” It was not. The website did not say our card would be rejected without insurance, and we met all the rental conditions.

Summary:
Dishonest practices

Forced insurance scam

Staff lied and intimidated us

No help from the booking site

No refund even though they refused to give us the car

This was a blatant bait-and-switch and terrible customer service from both companies. Avoid at all costs.

Arnaque à la location de voiture en ligne.

A Bari (Italie) suite à une location sur Internet, nous avons été "pris en otage" -sur un site industriel - le loueur était en dehors de l'aéroport contrairement à ce qui était indiqué- pour nous réclamer plus d'argent en prétextant que notre banque en ligne (filiale de la société générale) était une banque virtuelle.. la décision n'était apparemment pas motivé (le site Doyouitaly ayant pris le paiement avec ma carte). Nous connaissions l'arnaque sur les cartes de debit mais pas sur le fait que loueur puisse décider si la banque était ou non valable pour nous faire payer un supplément ! Bilan nous avons pu tant bien que mal revenir à l'aéroport (plus de 2h après avoir atterri) sans voiture et sans remboursement. Nous avons du louer une autre voiture par nos propre moyen, Doyouitaly n'étant joignable que par mail longtemps après les problèmes !

Resti senza auto

Da non credere, auto prenotata 15 giorni prima presso Orio al Serio, mi sono presentato per il ritiro e mi hanno detto che non avevano l'auto...prima mi hanno detto che l'avevano data ad un altro, poi che era rotta e successivamente che il segmento che avevo prenotato non era a disposizione.
Personale incompetente, maleducato fuori luogo.
Non andateci MAI

Noleggio auto

Ho noleggiato un paio di volte l’auto da Surprice a Napoli, entrambe le volte, nonostante i video, hanno cercato di addebitarmi costi per danni che non avevo fatto io ma che erano già presenti sull’auto.
Sono dei disonesti, noleggio auto da 7 mesi ormai e non mi era mai successa una cosa del genere. Quando ho provato per la terza volta e per errore mi hanno detto che dovevo per forza comprare un assicurazione altrimenti non mi avrebbero dato l auto o mi avrebbero addebitato anche il più piccolo graffio che avressero trovato sulla carrozzeria! In poche parole una minaccia vera e propria! I ragazzi lì dentro scostumati e incompetenti per non parlare della ragazza, indefinibile! Alla fine ho disdetto la prenotazione rimettendoci dei soldi ma non mi è interessato! NON PRENOTATE gente così merita di chiudere

Car rental nightmare at Milan Malpensa

I recently booked a car rental at Milan Malpensa airport through VIPCars. The rental was actually with a company called Surprice. The company was shown on the map as just on the edge of the airport. I arrived late evening and waited in the designated area, but no-one arrived. I phoned them and after about 15 mins, a minibus turned up and took me to their depot - about 5km from the airport!
This was only the start. I filled in my details and went to pay, using the same credit card as I'd used for the initial booking deposit. I was told they couldn't accept my card as it was not with a 'physical' bank. The same was true for all of the three cards I had. All were proper physical cards, all Mastercards, but with online banks. None of these were accepted. They said the only way I could take the car was to pay their full insurance, at a cost of 900 Euros! That wasn't going to happen, even if I could have paid.
After trying to get them to accept my one of cards and failing, they eventually took me back to the airport, so that I could find another hire car there.
I checked with lots of the companies there and found that my cheapest option was around 800 Euros - my original rental was for 110 Euros! My only real option was to book online for the following morning and stay in a hotel overnight, which I hadn't planned to do.
I eventally paid around 306 Euros for a car and the hotel cost me another 160 Euros, so I was out of pocket by 350 Euros, compared to my original booking, not to mention the stress and hassle (finally getting to a hotel at midnight), or totally messing up my plans for the next day. Both companies claim that this information is in the Ts&Cs, but it certainly was not on my original contract.
Neither company would budge or help me out, so if you're booking with either of them, TAKE A MAJOR BANK CREDIT CARD with you - or two or three. Even better, avoid both compaines!!

NESSUNA STELLA !!!

Metto una stella perché altrimenti non ti permette di inserire il commento. Assolutamente non prenotate da loro. Disorganizzati, lentissimi e neanche gentili. Ho impiegato meno tempo da mpx a olbia che ritirare l'auto. Inoltre indicazioni per raggiungere surprice inesistenti e il chiosco ha il nome di AutoOne !!!! Incredibile che siano ancora accreditati nel web x il noleggio

Booked a car online prior to my trip to…

Booked a car online prior to my trip to Bergamo Airport, Italy only to find out that british licence is not good enough because of Brexit and I needed international licence. Asked me to pay extra €250. I had already paid €110 for the use of car. I declined. Asked if I can add additional driver coz it was only €12 a day and they had EU licence but rude member of staff came with another excuse. Asked for a refund, but was also refused. So took a hit on a chin and found another rental company which didn’t require international licence. AVOID and do not use this website because it is a scam run by scammers.

Niemals wieder SurPrice über Wisecars

Ich habe über Wisecars einen Wagen der Mietwagenfirma SurPrice auf dem Flughafen Mailand-Malpensa gemietet. Über diesen betrügerischen Mietwagenanbieter möchte ich mich beschweren:
1. Bei Abholung des Mietwagen war ich vorher darauf hingewiesen worden, dass ich bei Abholung eine physische Kreditkarte für die Hinterlegung der Kaution vorlegen müsste. Das habe ich getan in Form einer Kreditkarte der Deutschen Kreditbank DKB (Lufthansa world business card). Mir wurde von dem Angestellten der Firma SurPrice mitgeteilt, dass es sich hier um die Kreditkarte einer Onlinebank handele und diese nicht für die Hinterlegung der Kaution verwendet werden könne, stattdessen solle ich eine Schadenversicherung über ca. 300 € abschließen. Wenn ich das nicht wolle, könne er mir den Wagen nicht geben, und ich könne ja meinen Vermittler anrufen. Nach ca. einer Stunde Diskussion, in der auch ein anderer Deutscher mit einer Lufthansa world business Kreditkarte, dem das Gleiche widerfahren ist, beteiligt war, wurde dann die Lufthansa Kreditkarte endlich doch noch anerkannt und die Anmietung des Mietwagens konnte abgeschlossen werden. Für mich ein klarer Fall eines Betrugsversuches!
2. Bei Rückgabe des Wagens zeigte mir der Angestellte der Firma SurPrice einen etwa 0,3 x 3cm langen dunklen Strich auf einer Felge und behauptete, ich hätte hier einen Schaden verursacht. Die Felge wies weitere Abnutzungserscheinungen auf und war zudem bereits bei Abholung stark verschmutzt wie das ganze Auto auch, das offenbar seit Wochen nicht mehr gewaschen wurde. Ich bestritt, diesen Schaden verursacht zu haben. Zum Ende des Rückgabeprozesses wurde ich gefragt, ob ich den Schaden akzeptiere. Ich verneinte vehement. Dann wurde mir ein schwarzer Bildschirm eines Notebook präsentiert, auf dem ich meine Unterschrift leisten sollte, weiter war auf dem Bildschirm nichts zu erkennen. Ich war der Meinung, dass ich hier die Rückgabe des Wagens bestätigte. Umso erstaunter war ich, als ich ca. 1 Stunde später das Rückgabeprotokoll per email erhielt und erkannte, dass ich unterschrieben habe den Schaden verursacht zu haben (siehe Anlage). Diese Unterschrift wurde in betrügerischer Absicht erschlichen. Später erhielt ich eine Rechnung über 530 €, der Betrag wurde von meiner Kreditkarte abgebucht.
Das betrügerische Verhalten dieses Autovermieters ist absolut inakzeptabel!
