Superprof is truly a 5-star platform. They make it easy to advertise my skills to potential students for free. They make it easy for both students and tutors to communicate and set up classes. I happily pay their affordable subscription for better visibility online and have successfully onboarded students consistently. My students appreciate the initial free class which helps to build up trust.

This has been an amazing tool as a private tutor. Being able to reach dedicated learners that recites far; is something I would have never been able to do without Superprof.

Love the app no complaints

I love the fact that they put you out there ,and make you visible to students even when you are just a beginner.
It's also thoughtful of them to not take a percentage of money after every lesson conducted.
Its a very professional platform that also cares to protect their teachers,instructors , and learners from any safety hazards or fraud.

I had some very specific requirements and I did have a few lessons. Once those were complete I needed nothing further. However I was charged R69 per month for the next 20+ months due to a sneaky little section buried in their onboarding process - leaving me over R1300 out of pocket for a service I didn't use. I did not access the site nor use it for all of that time and only picked up the deductions by accident. They apparently sent an email saying if I did not respond, they would continue to renew my subscriptionfor another year - I don't think that is even allowed. I complained and received no refund - they just threw the book back at me so be very careful here.

Students are joining SuperProf under the pretence of wanting lessons. They then zero in on a particular tutor and after the tutor has confirmed via SuperProf that he/she is happy to provide lessons to the student, pretend to have paid a huge amount of money to SuperProf and then request the tutor to provide banking details and to reveal how much money the tutor has in the bank. After complaining about this scam, the student profile disappears and there's no feedback from SuperProf support, after providing it with proof of this scam.

I had a pretty upsetting experience with a tutor I found on Superprof. We scheduled a lesson for Afrikaans, but before we even got started, she passed my contact details to another tutoring company, without asking me first. Then she cancelled the lesson and said she didn’t feel confident teaching the subject.

I was shocked by how unprofessional it all felt, especially the part about sharing my personal info. That’s a serious breach of trust, and it’s made me really nervous about using the site again.

What made it worse is that I reached out to Superprof directly (I sent an email explaining everything and asking for help). It’s been over a week now, and I haven’t received any response. No follow-up, no acknowledgement, nothing.

It’s really disappointing, because I liked the idea of Superprof. But now I’m left without a tutor, out of pocket, and unsure whether my data is even safe. I expected better from both the tutor and the platform.

Being in the Educational field myself, I understand professionalism and standards. I paid for 40 lessons for a Mandarin Tutor. The tutor I found on Superprof was late for the first 3 lessons without any valid reason. I am a very busy professional and being on time is very important. The 4th lesson she didn't attend, as she forgot. In the 5th lesson, she didn't attend and told me after 30 minutes that she had an issue. This is extremely unprofessional. Now she is refusing to refund the balance of the 40 lessons that I paid for! I was never informed about her cancelation policy or that the classes are non-refundable, if I had known that, I probably would have only paid for 5 lessons. That is theft, stealing 37 lessons' worth of money!

Superprof asks its customers to leave reviews about its tutors, but is refusing to add the above review to its website. It also refuses to talk to the tutor and really wants nothing to do with concerns or complaints. What about the rights of its paying customers? So stay away..... no support and refusal to publish an honest review.

UPDATE: Still no feedback from Superprof or the tutor regarding my refund. Zero communication, even though I emailed them numerous times. Wow.

Superprof is a scam I was trying to pay for the monthly fee of R139 instead they took R1399 out of my account. And still not answering my emails about my refund. I am so disappointed on their unethical practices
