Not a good experience!

I really wouldn't rate this company very highly and wouldn't book with them again. While the agents try to be helpful and are polite, they don't tell you the whole story, and my experience hasn't been great.

I went through Travelzoo and the trip was advertised as £109 per person for flights and hotel. Superescapes couldn't give me that deal so offered me another hotel but included breakfast. The cost was now £149 per person. I booked, but then received the flight details. We're flying out with Ryanair and back with Easyjet. I wasn't told about this when I booked, and each airline has different baggage allowance which makes things awkward.

An hour or so after booking I received a phone call telling me that there were no rooms available at the hotel they had booked us into! I asked for a room upgrade or free transfers as compensation and was only offered a few pounds off the transfers. I declined initially. When I contacted them a day or two later they took another two days to loo into it and then refused to honour the cheaper transfer amount. This has actually turned out to be a much more expensive trip than anticipated. The lack of information given when booking is poor service, and the experience so far has been quite stressful!

I received help I needed to rectify the…

I received help I needed to rectify the problem that ocurred during booking. I paid to upgrade my hotel room but this did not show on the document sent to me. I called customer support and spoke to Barry Dort, who helped resove the problem.

Not the holiday we were expecting

Unfortunately when we arrived at our holiday complex we were allocated a standard room but we had paid extra for an upgraded room when we booked. We managed to upgrade ourselves obviously with an extra charge and Linda Francis in customer services helped recover some of the extra cost incurred and promised to discount the next holiday we book with Super Escapes

Unresolved Refund Issue and Poor After-Sales Service – Superescapes

I have used Superescapes three times in the past. I had always intended to write a review, but I wanted to resolve matters internally first rather than raise concerns on public platforms. Unfortunately, my experience has left me no option but to share this so other travellers are aware.

First Trip – Prague
My first holiday to Prague was acceptable. Although I requested accommodation close to the city centre, the hotel was further away. However, due to Prague’s excellent public transport, this did not cause major inconvenience.

Second Trip – Venice (Major Issue)
My second trip with Superescapes was to Venice. Venice itself is a wonderful destination, but my experience with Superescapes was extremely disappointing.

My package clearly included breakfast, as stated on the voucher issued by Superescapes. However, the hotel Hotel Altieri,

refused to honour the breakfast voucher.

Departure date: 21 September 2025

I chose not to spoil my holiday and paid for my own breakfast for 3 nights / 4 days. Upon returning to the UK, I raised a formal complaint.

Refund Promise and Failure to Deliver
Superescapes agreed to reimburse me with:

£30 cash refund, and

£40 voucher as goodwill

My main concern was never the voucher, but the cash refund, which I had already spent during my stay.

I was later contacted by a so-called manager, Mr Roy Dias, who confirmed this resolution in writing. His email (dated 30 September) clearly stated that:

Good Morning.
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to follow up on our recent telephone conversation regarding your hotel booking.
First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you experienced. We understand how frustrating it must have been to not receive the breakfast that was included in your booking. After investigating the matter as per your request, we confirmed that your reservation did include bed and breakfast.
Unfortunately, it appears that the hotel supplier failed to provide the breakfast as promised. We have already escalated your feedback to both our hotel supplier and our internal management team, and we are taking this issue very seriously to ensure appropriate action is taken.
As a gesture of goodwill and to make up for the inconvenience caused, we are pleased to offer you a cash refund of £30.00 along with a discount voucher worth £40.00, valid for 12 months. This brings the total compensation to £70.00.
Please note:

The refund will be processed to your account within 14 working days.
The discount voucher can be used on any future booking with us within the next 12 months.

We kindly request you to reply to this email confirming your acceptance of the proposed resolution so that we may close this complaint with a full and final settlement.
Once again, we deeply regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding.

I accepted this offer immediately.

What followed was unacceptable.
After my acceptance:

The refund was never processed until today 10/02/2026 nearly 5 months.

I made over 100–150 calls chasing the refund

The only response I received was: “We have passed your details to accounts”

Roy Dias stopped responding and avoided calls

To date, no £30 refund has been received, despite written confirmation.

This is not about the amount — it is about principle, trust, and company integrity.

Superescapes has no issue repeatedly calling customers — even late in the evening — to secure bookings and process credit card payments. But once payment is taken, customer service and accountability disappear.

Superescapes regularly advertises cheap holidays in the Metro newspaper in London. Many innocent travellers, like myself, can easily fall victim to such practices.

If a company is willing to damage its reputation for a 10–20% commission, that says a lot about its values.

I am sharing this experience so other travellers are aware and can make informed decisions.

Had a mixed experience with Super…

Had a mixed experience with Super Escapes Ltd. initially, they pushed a hotel with poor reviews, bombarding us with emails (some times duplicated between employees) and only offered alternatives at an extra cost after pushed back. They charged extra for airport transfers despite hotel including shuttle service in their package. Dania is the one who eventually sorted things out.
