Very disappointing experience with Street Cover – policy cancelled despite sending documents

I honestly never expected to have this kind of experience with an insurance company.

On 14 September 2026, Street Cover contacted me asking for some documents and gave me 10 days to provide them. I made sure I dealt with it within the given timeframe. I sent all the requested documents on 21 September, which was well before the deadline.

After sending everything, I didn’t just leave it there. I sent three separate emails to make sure they had received my documents because I wanted to avoid exactly this kind of situation. I also called them to make sure everything was okay and that there was nothing else they needed from me.

Then, on 25 September, I received an email saying that my insurance policy had been cancelled because I had not provided the requested documents.

I genuinely don’t understand how this can happen when I sent everything on time and followed up with them several times. If there was a problem with one of the documents, or if something was missing or unclear, they could have simply contacted me and given me the opportunity to sort it out. Instead, my policy was cancelled.

This has put me in a very difficult situation. I have lost around £1,000 on the insurance and now I cannot drive my car because I no longer have valid insurance. This affects my work and my day-to-day life as well.

What makes this even more frustrating is that I did everything I was asked to do. I didn’t ignore their request or leave the documents until the last minute. I sent them three emails and also called to make sure they had received everything.

I feel completely let down by the way this has been handled. The lack of proper communication between their teams has caused me unnecessary stress, wasted my time and left me financially out of pocket.

I would really like Street Cover to properly investigate this, check the emails and documents I sent on 21 September, and also check my follow-up emails and phone call. I would like to understand how they reached the decision to cancel my policy when I had provided the documents within the deadline.

I hope someone from Street Cover actually looks into this properly rather than giving me a standard response. This has had a real impact on me, and I don’t think customers should be put in this position when they have done what they were asked to do.

Very disappointed with the way my insurance policy has been handled.
According to the cancellation letter, my policy was cancelled because the required documents were allegedly not provided within the required timeframe, with cancellation effective 13 September 2026 at 23:59.
However, I submitted all the requested documents before the stated deadline, and I have evidence and timestamps confirming this. Despite this, my policy was still cancelled.
This has caused me significant stress, inconvenience and financial consequences. I do not understand how my policy can be cancelled for documents that were submitted within the deadline given by the insurer.
I have kept records of all my communications and document submissions. I am now pursuing this matter through the formal complaints process and, if necessary, will consider taking the matter further through the appropriate regulatory/legal channels.
Customers should not be penalised when they have complied with the requested deadline.
Very disappointing experience. I strongly recommend keeping screenshots, emails, timestamps and proof of every document submitted when dealing with this company.

My policy got unfairly cancelled due to lack of seriousness by streetcover team even after my request to streetcover to cancel my policy before 14 days cooldown period ends . By GOD say, me as a client don’t like to play with the system just to save few pounds a months but street is really trying their best to ruin somebody’s insurance record . Sorry to say but i can’t stop myself to say few companies are really working as mafia that are just looting . I wish if could be a lawyer , i would definiTely bring streetcover to court who really made me feel distressed for around 2 months . All i am saying is 100% true i really confidently stand with my own words .

Please advise your legal team to be prepared because i am getting paranoid because of you and i am going to knock down each and every door just to let the system know how companies are putting their full effort to add up more stress to the minds of people who are already facing many challenges

Asked for a quote for my insurance, had six years no claims bonus but hadn't had insurance for two years. All other insuance companies allow you to use that bo claims within three years.

Street cover rep told me i couldnt use it as they only accept for two years.

Jamieleigh was very helpful on the web chat. I was unsure of the wording for the document I now have full clarification. The web chat is useful on a Saturday as most places are open Monday to Friday.
On Monday i called my insurance company to see what price they would offer and they didn't offer hire and reward so I had to cancel my insurance with a company I have been with for 6 years. The insurance quote from streetcover had doubled in 2 days although I had received a text message 16:30 on Monday to say "your quote is available today" so I tried to pay for the £803 it quoted me but it wouldn't let me pay, it took me back to the homepage and the new price is £1,357.
I have to have insurance.

I took out hiree and reward insurance about a month ago. This company gave me insurance through Accorn insurance acting as agent. After few days this company ask for no clame cirtificate which i email them. After this, accorn insurance started sending me email asking for same thing. I forwarded to them but they wanted it in purticular format. I did that but company said " your insurance no claim cirtificate has no logo on the letter" so they didnt accept it and eventually they didnt renew it after a month. But surpridingly company started giving me text message after cancellation to renrw it or get new quote. It was so much hard work to explain them and holding my phone for hours to get through. I never had so bad experience like this in my 35 years of droving . I am not happy with them at all for right reason.

Spoke to them on the phone very rude staff. Called to clarify some questions regarding quotes but the staff been arrogant . If you can’t be asked to do your job then find a new job instead of making the company look bad. Absolute joke. Terrible customer service.
