It can be intimidating to walk into a shop which obviously sells high quality merchandise. Often the staff are a bit snooty and pretentious. Not so Strathberry!
I was lured into the shop in Edinburgh by a beautiful handbag in the window with a silk scarf wrapped around the handle in a pleasingly intricate fashion. The staff were friendly but not smothering. They were happy to answer any questions but, beyond that, excited to tell me about the company.
I had to meet someone for lunch so told them I would pop back afterwards. I did just that to find different staff there (shift change!) who were equally friendly and helpful.
I bought a small navy blue handbag with a silk wrap on the handle. I used it last night for the first time and it made me feel really special. The bag is beautiful and well made. The customer service was excellent.
I am already planning on buying one for my best friend's birthday!

Fantastic bag and great customer service
My whole experience of buying my first Strathberry bag was excellent. Great customer service and quick delivery. My bag is by far the best quality of leather I have purchased and the design is fabulous. I will definitely be buying another one soon.

The Strathberry Kite
I have several Strathberry bags (Charlotte Midi, Lana etc.) but I recently received my Kite in black suede, and it's possibly the best bag in my collection, and I have pieces from Prada, Mulberry, Jil Sander and more. I can fit so much in this bag - today it included: my laptop, gym kit, make-up bag, notebook, waterbottle and so much more - all without looking bulky and still chic. Would highly reccommend if you want a well-designed, well-made bag for everyday that still looks stylish!

Great handbag, great staff
I went to the shop with my husband right after arriving to the city for our vacation. We wore sport jackets and backpacks and we still felt welcomed. Staff was really nice and helpful. I tried few handbags and then left to think which one to buy :) Came back hour later, bought great quality handbag and had really nice time in the shop. Whole experience was spot on. I was scared that staff might be a bit snobby, but not at all.

Will never see my refund money back, call recording without consent management
Strathberry has made some decent bags, of which I have ordered quite a few including the 'Stylist' lately. Compared to the earlier 'Mosaic' or similar models, one can definitely tell, that Strathberry is getting more confident about what level of quality to sell at what price (meaning, the 'Stylist' is not worth its money in my humble opinion). The reason for this review is far worse though:
After weeks without a notification, I finally received a Raffia 'Stylist' that was of very poor quality and all crooked. I submitted a return request, which was approved, telling Strathberry that the refund needs to go to a different bank account as the account it was paid from has been closed. I was provided with a FEDEX shipping label. After again not hearing from them, I asked for the whereabouts of my return, to which they replied it was probably lost and that needed to check with my local post office whether it had been returned t them. I hadn't been (this exercise was also interesting, since the tracking was also available to them and the post office had no more information than what could be told from the tracking number). They finally agreed to refund the bag and AGAIN, I mentioned that the refund needed to go to a different account, to which the reply was that they just can't do that.
Messages about the closure of the account as well as mentioning my frustration with the customer service were just ignored. As a final resort, I called them today and happened to speak to the same person I had been writing emails for.
She mentioned that now it would be too late because the refund had already been issued and that I should go and trace it. She would however ask the 'finance department' what they could do. When I asked her why she didn't check with the 'Finance Department' weeks ago when I first requested the refund to a different account, she kept repeating that this was not in her power. It was like talking to a wall. (The only thing she did react to was, when I said, that I was beginning to lose my sh** here and that this was beyond frustrating and she threatened with management to get involved because of swearing and that all call would be recorded (which is also interesting, as it was not announced at the beginning of the call, so definitely a data protection issue). I told her to please get management involved as they might be able to finally help and to PLEASE also show them month-old email chain.
In a nutshell: This customer service is not living up to what the brand claims to be.
Update: My refund is gone, will never see it again, Strathberry has obviously not followed up as promised. I wish I could upload pictures of the quality of the returned bag on here. It was crooked and looked like a cheap bag from a Bali beachside shop. Have also read several other comments about this on here. Turns out that the lady on the phone also lied about call recording as Strathberry has later confirmed there is no such thing. Really professional.
Never again.

We are very sorry to read how frustrating this experience has been for you and that it has caused you such concern.
Regarding your return, once we had been made aware of the delay in this reaching us, we raised an investigation with the carrier. Unfortunately, this investigation was inconclusive, as there was no recorded movement showing the parcel arriving at our warehouse. While we understand how worrying this must have been, we proceeded in good faith to resolve the matter and issued your refund.
Regarding your refund, as confirmed and stated on our returns policy, refunds can only be processed back to the original payment method used at checkout. For security and fraud-prevention reasons, we are unable to redirect funds to a completely different bank account, and exceptions cannot be made to this policy.
We appreciate your concern regarding the original account being closed. In most cases, when a bank account linked to a card has been closed, the card issuer is still able to receive returned funds and either transfer them to a new account or contact the account holder directly. Occasionally, there may be a delay before the refund appears; this timeframe is determined by the card issuer and is outside of Strathberry’s control.
Our Finance Team has reviewed the transaction and confirmed that it completed successfully and without any errors in our system. The funds have therefore left us and are now with the payment provider/bank network. In the unlikely event that the payment is rejected by the bank, the funds would automatically be returned to Strathberry, at which point we would be able to contact you to arrange the next steps.
We are genuinely sorry that this experience has left you feeling disappointed. While our Customer Care team must operate within established policies and system limitations, we regret that our communication did not meet your expectations on this occasion.

Excellent packaging and superb handbags. Both handbags were as described on the website. I am very happy with both purchases.

Absolutely outstanding
Absolutely outstanding. Georgina in Victoria Street, Edinburgh is the best sales person you could ever wish to be served by. She took an enquiry from me months ago in preparation for my first visit to Edinburgh and knowing I wanted to buy my first bag in Scotland where it was designed. She gave me a ton of recommendations and assisted with all my questions before my visit and then the appointment was just wonderful to be in store and make my selection. She then kept everything safe for me to the following day and arranged for it to be sent to me as I couldn’t take it with me on the plane. I can’t say enough that she was amazing and the bag I bought was gorgeous.
