I think your verification process and holding funds are quite complicated, and you are keeping our money for too long. I need it urgently, but it has been over a week now and I still haven’t been able to access the money that someone else has already paid me.

Thank you for getting back to us via Trustpilot and sharing more details. We understand how frustrating it can be to have funds held, especially when you need them urgently.
We can see that your account has now been cleared and your funds have been transferred. We appreciate your patience while we completed our review.
For security purposes, we occasionally need to verify account activity. We know this isn't ideal - sometimes it is required for Square to comply with local financial regulations as well as card processing network rules.
If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team directly via squ.re/help .

Everything was too easy! From registering an account, to setting up the handheld POS machine, to getting my money, everything was just a breeze. The user interface in the mobile app, website, and hardware is also user-friendly.

I was sold on the fact Wix was on the menu and my friend uses Wix, to find a $32 per month surcharge to import library.
Hours lost with phonecalls and emails between both square and Wix, speaking with non english personnel.

Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we're sorry to hear about the frustration it's caused you.
We believe the charge you're seeing is from a third-party app called "Square Integration" available on the Wix App Market. It's developed and charged by Digital Product Labs, not by Square. We understand how that naming can be confusing and we appreciate you flagging it. ( https://www.wix.com/app-market/web-solution/957b5566-c975-4ccd-bac9-4f7c194f3691 )
Square itself doesn't charge a monthly fee for connecting with Wix for payments - only our standard per-transaction processing fees apply. This third party integration is not required for you to build and use a Square Online websites, or take payments via Square on your Wix website.
If you'd like help reviewing your setup or exploring options that might work better for your new business, please reach out to us at squ.re/help .

Small business
I only needed it for market stalls for a hobby selling home made .
The first time using it we couldn't get it to read cards and had to manually enter details.
Fees to use then fees to transfer. I knew of fees to use but dont recall reading of fees to transfer

Thanks for sharing this feedback - we know how stressful it is when your reader doesn’t work as expected at a market and you end up having to key in cards.
It sounds like the card reader connection issue is what forced you into manually entering details, which does cost more per transaction. In terms of transfers, standard next-business-day transfers to your bank are free – you only pay the normal card processing fee. There are optional faster transfer options (like Instant or Same-Day) that do have a small fee, which may be what you’re seeing. If you’d like help getting the reader working reliably or reviewing your transfer settings, our support team can walk through it with you at http://squ.re/contact.

We’re so glad to hear that Square has been easy to use and a great fit for your pickleball club. It’s especially great to know you’ve had a positive experience with our support team as well.

Cancelled my account because I couldn't share commercially sensitive materials.
Square contacted me out of the blue, and after using their service for multiple years, advised me that my account was on hold, and requested to see copies of invoices that I had sent to my clients. Unfortunately, I have NDA's that prohibit me from sharing commercially sensitive information with third parties (I work in Media). Subsequently, Square deactivated my account, and refuse to tell me why, or provide any means to appeal, or speak to anyone. Update: Square have responded here, and advised that I could have provided redacted Invoices, without client details. I would have been more than happy to do this, but was not given this option during my audit. I have now emailed Square Accounts, and advised that I am more than happy to provide redacted invoices. If Square replies, I will update this review, however - as of today, they still have not. It is quite disappointing that the most meaningful assistance that I have got so far in regards to this issue, was Squares response to this negative review, and not to my actual support emails.

Thanks for sharing this feedback. From time to time we’re required to request additional information (such as sample invoices or contracts) so we can understand how a business operates and meet our regulatory and compliance obligations. We appreciate that some sellers work under NDAs or handle commercially sensitive material, and in many cases documents can be provided with sensitive details redacted, as long as key information remains visible. If we don’t receive enough information to complete a review, we may not be able to continue providing services on the account.
While we can’t discuss individual account decisions in a public forum, we’re grateful you took the time to share this experience. Feedback like yours helps us improve how we explain our information requests and support businesses that work under strict confidentiality obligations.
