With Square you can choose between standard next-business-day deposits (free) and Same-Day or Instant Transfers for an additional fee, which can get your money into your bank much sooner. If you’d like to adjust your deposit speed, you can review and change your settings from your Square Dashboard under Balance → Transfers.

I love this system

I love this system as a new business owner I have so much to look after where with easy to follow instructions I was able to set up and get going. I enjoy the reports function to see what my customers enjoy the most and how I can tweak different items on the menu to make more profitable. Thanks square for a great system. I will definitely recommend to others.

Really handy just have problems with connecting the reader to my phone often.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you find the reader handy. Connectivity issues can usually be resolved with a few quick steps:

• Toggle Bluetooth off and on, and make sure the reader is within about 10 feet of your phone.
• Forget & re-pair the reader — go to your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget any Square Readers, then reconnect from the Square app under Settings → Hardware → Square Readers → Connect a Reader.
• Keep everything updated — make sure both the Square app and your phone's OS are on the latest versions.
• Charge the reader fully — a low battery can cause connection drops.
• Restart both devices if the issue persists — hold the reader button ~20 seconds to power it off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.

Good basic POS platform

This is the first time I’m setting up a POS platform for my hobby business from home. I had no IT skills at all. It was difficult in the beginning but customer service was very nice to help out. Overall it’s a positive experience and I get to know the site better as I go. Being free is a big bonus for someone like me who wants to have a go and you didn’t want too much expenses.

Easy to use and set up

Easy to use and set up. Includes the POS with eftpos processing. Cost effective when compared to our banking offers and no extra cost for the POS.

Square was suggested to me by a colleague and i needed a point of sale system for on the spot transactions that would allow me to take payment from my iphone while visiting my clients. It’s a very simple to use platform that can be easily set up online generally within an hour or so. Very happy so far.

We’ve been using Square for several…

We’ve been using Square for several years, processing significant volume — at one point exceeding $1 million annually. Despite this, we’ve never truly felt protected as a business.

A major issue we’ve faced repeatedly is with disputed transactions. Customers place orders through our system, pay online, and we prepare the food in good faith. Later, the same customers dispute the charge — often claiming their card was stolen — and the funds are taken back from us.

In these situations, even when we provide clear evidence that the order was received and fulfilled, we still end up bearing the loss. This is extremely frustrating. As a business, we should not be held responsible for fraudulent card use on the customer’s end.

Other platforms and payment providers offer far better protection for merchants in these cases. Unfortunately, our experience with Square has made us feel exposed and unsupported.

We are now moving to a different provider, and based on our experience, we would strongly recommend other businesses carefully consider their options before relying on Square.

What you’re describing around preparing and fulfilling orders only to lose the funds later is incredibly frustrating and I completely understand why you’d feel unprotected and unsupported.

We absolutely don’t want you to feel exposed when it comes to fraud and chargebacks. I’ve shared this feedback with the appropriate teams so they can review your experience, and your account manager will also be reaching out directly to talk through what’s happened, answer questions about our dispute/fraud protections, and discuss any remaining options.

Relievable system, room to improve customer support

We’ve been using Square for around a year now for our florist business and overall our experience has been good. The system is easy to use, reliable for day-to-day transactions, and works well for both in-store and busy periods.
The main area that could be improved is customer service, which can sometimes be slow or not as helpful as expected when issues arise.
That said, overall it’s a solid system and has worked well for our business

too easy for clubs

easy to set up, easy to use, no on going costs, and makes card payments available and easy, we are a small nonj for profit sporting club and Square has made the transition to include EFTPOS sooo easy.
