Resolving my query made things good. SquareOff do respond to queries through the software and will inform you of software updates. Still a ways to go but definitely heading in the right direction.

The Square Off Pro board itself is great. The pieces should be heavier because the magnetic forces make it easy for pieces to be knocked over sometimes during play.

The app works ok. It needs better integration with Chess.com, as sometimes games played through the Square Off app do not seem to count towards one's chess.com rating, even if the "rated game" box is checked.

On the whole, I do enjoy the board. The AI gets pretty good from level 5 up (below that it seems to make silly blunders).

If Square Off can make the pieces heavier, and make their app a bit easier to use (i.e. the font size is SO small, and the analysis function sometimes shows the white moves as the black moves, and vice-versa), this product will become a regular tool in any serious chess player's training arsenal. The size dimensions really do simulate tournament play, and at the relatively affordable price (compared to other full-sized electronic boards), the set is well worth the money. I have since purchased one for my brother in law so we can play live games together over a real board, from either side of the country. That experience is special indeed.

I have been waiting 3 years for my boards. There have been so many delays. We are on update email #38. Over time they have offered upgrades, etc. The current upgrade asks for more money to cover shipping due to increased prices. I am happy to see some reviews that seem to be encouraging that this is a real product because all the business practices seem to point to a scam. Asking for more money from customers who've waited literally YEARS for the product they pre-paid while simultaneously offering discounts to NEW customers is shady. Any refund should come with interest. I see other companies with similar practices are being fined or successfully sued. Come on, Square Off. According to you, my boards have finally made it to the US. Why would it take til the end of June to make it to my house?

Vor 4 Jahren haben ich über KickStarter ein Projekt unterstützt. Bis heute nichts außer Bitten um noch mehr Geld wegen "unerwarteten" Kosten. Ein angebotener 'Full Refund' war nicht einmal annähernd alles. Absolut nicht vertrauenswürdig und nie um eine Ausrede verlegen.

I wish that this company should have send me the swap & Neo chess but the didn’t. They have sended me the grand kingdom set & the square off pro but the haven’t sended me the me the neo & the swap. I think that they didn’t send me the neo & swap because square off company is both lazy & unprofessional. Try better next time.

I love the size. It works 99%. Sometimes when a piece is knocked, or en passant taken in "wrong" order, theres errors. Also, in my board there's a large wave on the H file, which just doesn't disappear and stands up. Others don't have that as I heard

I love that it's portable and I can take it everywhere.
It's full tournament size. Strong opponent.

It’s awesome to play and see the pieces move automatically. I also like the reset that auto moves every piece back to starting position. It’s not always accurate but still it’s amazing to watch.

The NEO board plays very nicely. But taking 3 plus YEARS was ridicules. In the end, you delivered a great AI Chess game. But, never again take so long to deliver. Your name has been tarnished. Fix that.

I'm very pleased with the outcome. They were helpful and guided me through the whole thing... After seeing that my board wasn't working they took matter into hand and decided to replace my whole chess set. Great experience! Thanks again.

Placed my order over 3 years ago and still have not received my chess board.

This company is absolutely trash. I wish I could give 0 star rating. I ordered a Neo in January of ‘22. They have put me off three times now delaying delivery until August of ‘23. Good luck getting your product.

I've been waiting for my boards for a year and a half now...still haven't been delivered, no delivery updates. Impossible to work out if they are trying their best, or simply fraudulent. I'm giving them one more month to deliver them. If not I'll be expecting my money back.

Mit großer Hoffnung und Vorfreude habe ich Ende 2021 ein Schachbrett gekauft und ein Lieferdatum zu Ende März 2022 erhalten. Das Datum kam und ging und ich bekam dann eine Mail: Ja, Mai 2022. Ok, etwas Geduld. Im Mai eine neue Mail: Nicht vor August 2022. Im August neue Mail: Ende 2022. Im Januar 2023, es kam neue Mail mehr, habe ich dann initiativ nachgefragt: Ich müsse noch warten, das Schachbrett käme erst zu Mai 2022(!). Ich: Wir haben schon Januar 2023(!). Oh, ja wir fragen mal nach und melden uns. Keine Meldung. Keine Updates. Also habe ich gesagt: Passt auf, ich gebe euch noch 1 Woche mir ein Update zu geben, ansonsten möchte ich mein Geld zurück. Es kam natürlich wieder nichts, also unter Androhung des Anwalts das Geld zurückgefordert. Das einzige positive: Das Geld war tatsächlich einige Tage später da. In Anbetracht der hohen Inflation habe ich natürlich trotzdem Geld verloren, aber besser als nichts.

Würde nie wieder dort was bestellen.

Their tournament size chessboard is spot on, only issue I've is with the surface. It's not flat. It's like a wavy surface, might be due to silicon material but would've been great if they'd have managed it or atleast explained via a video post on the website. Functional aspect of the app is great. Ability to play against their AI in offline mode is superb. Starting from position is really cool. Recently I've been facing issues with the chess.com on their platform, but looks like it's an issue with the chess.com server. They released couple of articles in last 2 weeks stating the same. Great product horrible customer service. Watch Sioicon Valley. All the computer geeks are so busy patting themselves on the back and when they look at their agent who’s a regular person,, she’s not impressed at all because the product though advanced doesn’t speak to the average person. You guys are brilliant but you forget the most important thing, people aren’t dollar signs $$$ and nobody want to be ignored. Take some business classes. Take it from someone who’s been in business since he was probably your age many years ago. The business acumen seven in the time of the emails is not professional.
